Sunday Dinner, December 2, 2007

This will be just a short post to cover my Sunday Dinner, 'cause Diane is TARD tonight, folks. I shopped Thursday, I cleaned Friday, and I really shopped today. I done 'bout dragged me as far as I can go, and as soon as I get this published I'm going to bed.

You veteran readers have probably already figured out by the question mark on the chef's serving tray that I ain't cookin' Sunday Dinner this week.

After Christmas shopping all day, then wrapping gifts for a couple of hours after we got home, Jessica, Jason and Emmy came up for supper and Jessica and Jason put up my little tree and decorated it. I played with Emmy part of the time, and then held her while she slept until my bladder forced me to give her to Jessica.

While Jessica put the finishing touches on the tree, Lamar started the old classic Christmas movie, "It's A Wonderful Life". It's one of Lamar's favorite movies. Me, not so much, although Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorite actors. The movie went off about 10:20 and the kids just left about 30 minutes ago, so I'm just now getting to my Sunday Dinner post. I'm plumb tuckered out and I'm not even considering cooking tonight for Sunday Dinner.

Which means I'll be eating out somewhere for my Sunday Dinner, although I have no idea where it might be at the moment.

How about you? Just share your plans/menu in the comments if you want to participate. As I said, this is a short post and I'm going to bed in just a few minutes. Several of you have emailed me and there are 40 unread posts on my Bloglines but I'm just too exhausted and hurting too bad to get to them tonight. Tomorrow is church day, but I'll try to respond to my email tomorrow evening after church. I know you're all out there wanting to play, but I'm just too tired come out and play tonight. Save me a place, though, 'cause I'll be back and ready to play again soon.Y'all have a blessed Sunday, and may God meet all your needs, and may you have enough to share.

I understand the TARD part, also. I haven't done half what you have today and I'm tuckered. I just posted my hymn for the week and am on my way to bed. BUT, I always check to see what's for Sunday Dinner at your house before I turn in!:-)

I think Sunday Dinner at our house will be Lasagna--from Fazoli's I usually don't cook on Sunday. I've decided tomorrow is not one of those occasions.

Have a good day at church!

Good Mornin' Diane,
Whew, I is TARD now after reading about all that shopping. I do hope you got all your Christmas shopping done. Do we get to see pictures of your tree? I bet Jessica and Jason did a great job. Isn't it nice to just sit back and watch people decorate it for you? It's always fun to put it up, but taking it down isn't as fun. I am the one who has to take all the decorations off of our tree. Hubby will take the tree apart and put it in the bag. I had put a Beef Roast in the Slow Cooker Friday night. I did it a little different this time. Instead of putting my potatoes and carrots in with the roast, I cooked them separate on the stove. I also added a quarter of a head of cabbage in with it. I also made a pan of homemade buttermilk cornbread. You talkin' about good. LOL. That was some good eatin'. I don't blame ya for eating out. It don't hurt a bit. I love to eat out when we can afford it. Me and hubby grabbed something from Sonic in Jonesboro Friday after we took care of our business out there. Then we came back by Monnette and bought groceries. They had some pretty good bargains there. Yep, I have to look for those bargains. I didn't feel like going to the basketball games yesterday. Hubby took the girls this time. I had to take some medicine and go back to bed for a while. Can you believe it is 63 degrees right now? It is 5:09a.m. as I'm typing this. I had to turn my air-conditioner on for a while last night. When I turned the oven on(it's a gas oven) it got it all hot in here. Well, guess I'll go for now. Take care my friend and have a great Sunday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
P.S. There is enough roast and stuff left from last night and that will be our Sunday dinner for today.

I'm thinking meatloaf or chili... It depends on how adventurous I feel. LOL

Have a lovely rest! :o)

I hear ya hon...my elbows have done a number on me lately...can't hardly type. A casserole for dinner today...bisquit, green olive, ketchup, cream cheese and ground beef...sounds strange but it is yummy. My momma made it when I was a kid. Rest up hon and talk soon...Love, Jen xxxooo

Sounds to me as though you are justifiable "tard" Diane. Have a blessed, restful day. My daughter and parents are coming this afternoon and we will celebrate my daughter's birthday with an ice cream cake!! I'm looking forward to that.

One of the things I missed about J'boro was Sonic. Loved their chili dogs. We finally have one here but somehow it doesn't seem the same.

I have a pork tri-tip simmering in chili verde sauce. I'll cook some rice and some kind of canned beans (although its still early enough to start on some reds). Think I'll go do that right now.

Hugs.

a short note you said heheheh - but very readable as always.

Our Sunday dinner: Kyle, my bonus child made this lovely meat cakes again (you know this traditional Norwegian thing) and it tasted great.

Since you've asked, maybe you'll like to see what Diane and I had last Sunday in Brusssels:

We worked hard rearranging rooms to make room for the tree, so we're a bit whipped too. It's cold and nasty outside, and we've got snow predicted for the next FIVE days, so it's a perfect night for homemade chicken noodle soup and cornbread. Staying inside and snuggling up. xooxox

We had a "luper" this evening at the Japanese Steak house where I went with the Red Hats...I was disapointed in the guy we got as he said he was hungover...boy was he...I could have done a better job than him...lol!

I hope you get to feeling better soon! =)

It seems as though "TARD" is the way to be tonight. We had 10 people for dinner last night. I spent the day getting ready for that. Then today we had a double birthday party for Kristen and Sema - both have birthdays next Saturday and we'll be gone. Tonight we had Hanging of the Greens at church and it was lovely. Now I'm relaxing with the Hallmark Hall of Fame - I can tell it's going to be tear time very soon.

Yep - I have to start getting seriously ready to go. I have lots to do this week. I know pretty much what I'm taking - the stuff I bought for the April trip to Georgia. I'll also be taking my new laptop, of course!

Take it easy, dear friend, and get rested up before you take on anything else.

Hi there,
You should be at my house...Rob has put up three trees this year. Silly man.
I love the smaller trees that have the lights on them already.

Bet that little baby is going to get a bunch from santa this year.

I'm very, very tard, too, Diane! This past Sunday my mom made dinner for my SIL and I who share the same b-day. Our b-day isn't until next Saturday, however, they are going to be in HAWAII so she fixed us a b-day dinner yesterday.

Hope you have a great week!

I haven't been too tired to come out and play, but I've been too busy.

When my unread posts reached 800, I finally gave it up and hit "all read." There's just no way on this earth I can catch up with that many so I plan to start all over, later this week.

I made tacoritos last night. Yes ma'am, the same exact tacorito I had when Mom took me to the South last month. Needless to say, I photographed the whole thing and it will show up as a cooking tutorial any day now. LOL

Our tree is going up today. Finally. Sigh. How on earth Christmas can be only 22 days away is completely beyond me.

Hi! I found you through Big Mama. I'm always delighted to meet someone my age with bigger kids than the average mom blogger. )I'm 45.) I'm enjoying your posts.

Pat fixed baked spaghetti with meatballs for dinner yesterday. I like the baked version a lot better than when it is just boiled. We also got a lot of Christmas packages wrapped. More to go, but a good start.

Hello dear Diane,

Sounds like you've really been busy...I guess you don't want to come help me do my Christmas shopping now??? hehe I haven't even started mine and I need to get my baking done.

Make sure you take pictures of your tree for us:-) I so love seeing everyone's Christmas tree and decorations!! My mom had called me to go put hers up but I think now she's decided she's not going to bother putting one up since she won't be home for Christmas...she & Ross will be flying out to Vancouver to be with my two older brothers.

For Sunday dinner I just made myself some elbow macaroni with tomato sauce and cheese. Nice and simple:-)

Take care my friend! xoxox

well, ok then, goodnight dear. I'm embarrassed to tell you what my hooligans had for Sunday dinner yesterday so I'll just say goodnight and hope to catch you soon.

Re your comment today - we don't actually sing it at our church either. But I think it's interesting that I learned it in your state! Way back when.

Get your rest lady bug, you deserve it. I didn't cook on Sunday either. We went to my sister's house to celebrate my brother's birthday and all I had to take was rolls and ice cream. It was wonderful.

I so understand "tard". Work is getting crazy, with state inspection hovering, and lots to do on the house before moving in. Feels like time is runnning out. May have to send IOU's for Christmas.

But was thinking of you, and thought I'd stop by just to say that.

Hope you are rested up now and feeling better!
