Friday Flounderings, 2nd Edition

Without going into all the graphic details I'll just say I've been sick with a sinus infection/virus for over 5 weeks and for the last week or so I've been miserable. I started a nasal spray that finally allowed me to get a little sleep so I'm feeling a little more rested and more like myself. I still sound like I have an old sock stuffed up my nose but at least I can breathe through my nose most of the time for the first time in weeks.

It's amazing what 5 or 6 hours of sleep each night will do for your disposition and attitude on life!

Combine feeling like drek and not getting much sleep with a busy Christmas season, shopping and doctor's appointments and you come up with very little time for blogging, and to be honest, not much inclination either. But in the midst of all the busyness I did manage to get all my Christmas shopping done, saw my eye doctor not once, but twice and got my glasses ordered, got all my grocery shopping done and put away, and got my laundry done and put away. I also have all my Christmas gifts wrapped and bagged.I've been forcing myself to go and do even when I haven't felt like it, which meant that I've spent a lot of time in my recliner between trips to town and all that had to be done here. I have several Christmas parties and events coming up in the next several weeks but I'm glad to report that after Sunday my schedule is pretty clear until next Friday.

I'll have Emmy Saturday night while Jessica goes to her work Christmas party and Lamar and Jason take in an ASU Indians basketball game. I'm looking forward to a good evening with my sweet Emmy. I hope she's in a good mood for Grandma or we may both ending bawling and squalling. ;o)Jessica took me and Lamar to Lepanto, Arkansas on Thursday for Lamar's dental appointment and Jessica took a few pictures of me and Emmy and I got a couple of Jessica and Emmy.

It's almost impossible to comprehend, but Emmy will be 7 months old, Saturday, December 8th.

I enlarged those pictures but I couldn't really see Emmy's 2 bottom front teeth. There's just a glint of white in both of those pictures that might be a tooth, but nothing really clear. Trust me, Emmy knows what those teeth are for! She loves baby food as well as her bottles and eats several jars of assorted foods every day.

Emmy is already starting to pull up and is crawling everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised to see her walking before Christmas, but Jessica and Jason seem to think it will be after New Year's. We'll see....I haven't been commenting much but I've been reading all your posts here and there as I could. Unless I have a relapse I should be getting back into my normal blogging routine. Or maybe I should say, what passes for normal for me. ;-)

That being said, I'll publish this and answer some long neglected emails and check my Bloglines for new posts. I'll be around to visit soon.

Y'all have a wonderful weekend and a blessed Christmas season.

What's a normal blogging routine?! I haven't found that yet!

You have gotten a lot done for someone not feeling so well. I wish I had all my shopping done. we do most of ours online. Finally, today, we actually made some purchases! I am making progress. Hope to be finished before the weekend is over.

I'm buying some Barbie stuff for the first time. I never had a Barbie and didn't raise girls. So--new experience with MIss Ella! I had no idea! I thought you just got a doll and osme clothes. UH, NO! Not that easy! lol

Have fun with Emmy. AND-GET WELL!

Sorry you've had the creepin' cud! I've been a little under the weather myself, just feling tires and headachy most of all. Our temps have dropped a lot and it is freezing. Wer also have a north-east wind to keep us alert. Boy I hate that wind!
You know Diane, I haven't been doing much blogging either. It seems it's about all I can do to get a new post up once in a while because I'ver been so busy, but each time I have a few minutes to visit someone, you are always first on my list. I just want you to know that you are very special and I love you.
God Bless

I hope you'll be able to finally know the crud soon. 5 weeks is much too long to be feeling sick.

You sure have gotten a lot accomplished even though you've been under the weather. A lot more than I have done and I have no excuses.

Have a fun time with Emmy!

Diane, I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well...I truly think that during the holidays our stamina runs out, as we're way too busy running around getting things done, shopping, cooking, baking, sitting for our grandbabies etc...and all of a sudden, we are "spent" and it gets the best of us...I see your name and comments on a few of the other blogs that I read, and wanted to drop by, as I read on Jen's that you'd been sick...that's no fun at all....Your little Emmy is precious...7 months is such an adorable age, isn't it? And isn't Grandmothering much more fun than parenting? My DH always says that we should have been grandparents first, as it's just way too cool...You have a blessed day and I will say a prayer for you, for a quick recovery and that our precious Lord touches your body and makes you well again...Love, Bonnie B.

I feel your pain Diane!
I had the same type problems from March 07 to Oct 07. But, I've not had the nasal/sinus problems since Clarence moved out...I loved him but it has been such a relief on that point! I love being able to "smell" things again!

Loved the pictures of Miz Emmy! My daughter walked at 9 months, my son at 12 months so you just never know with babies.

Have a great day...thanks for your sweet email...you are a great and loving person! =)

Good Morning Diane,
I'm glad to hear you are feeling some better. Hopefully all that stuff will be gone before Christmas. My Mom usually has Bronchitus every year at Christmas and she is miserable. I hope she doens't have it this year. I am having Christmas at our house this year, so maybe she will be okay and can enjoy Christmas this year. So, you went to Lepanto huh? That is my hometown. I was born and raised there. Alot has changed over the years, but I still call it home. Emmy sure is growing. They do grow up fast. It seems like yesterday we were bringing our girls home from the hospital and now, they are 11 and 9. Time sure does fly. That may be why Emmy has been sick alot. She may be cutting teeth. I know each child is different and all, but one never knows. I know yall are excited about seeing her walk for the first time. Has she started talking yet? Both of my girls started talking at an early age, I just can't remember how old they were. LOL. My mind ain't like it used to be. I think it might be "Raining on our Parade" today. I hope it waits, but we will have to see. We do have our Chritsmas Play and Dinner at our Church tonight tho. It is suppose to be after the Parade. Well, take care my friend and have a great Saturday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Hi hon...rest up when ya can babe...that crud can take down the strongest and lay them out. You have that sweet granma glow when holding Emmy so the crud has not affected that for sure! lol. Hope your evening with Emmy is sweet and peaceful...sounds like a plan!

I haven't even started my shopping yet...there is ice/winter storm warnings today for all of Kansas along I-70 which we are and for the next several days. The ice is awful...Dh wiped out when he was heading out today for errands...watching a big 6'3" guy fall on his b*** is not a pretty sight. I am staying put today...I needed to go into town to the bank and was going to get a few groceries but when I saw DH sprawled on the sidewalk I changed me mind. Hope this ice doesn't affect y'all later. Youngest girl and I will bake our annual sugar cookie/breads today and watch some old Christmas flicks on the DVR. Take care hon..loveya, Jen xxxooo

Oh Diane, I'm so sorry you've been sick! It's never fun but especially awful around the holidays. I've got a cold coming on and I'm afraid it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Take good care of yourself!

Hi Diane,
I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well. You are a real trooper - carrying on and getting everything done. Now you can relax a bit and enjoy this very special time of year.
I know it can be a bitter/sweet time - missing those we love so dearly - but I know that sweet little bundle is going make this Christmas very special for you. She is at such a cute age. Her little personality must be really coming into its own now. I love the pictures. She looks so sweet - and Jessica too. Your special girls.
Have a restful weekend Diane. You bless my heart - always.

Can't believe how your little grand daughter's growing. They don't stay babies nearly long enough.

Dearest Diane,

And how would you know what an old sock up your nose makes you sound like?? hehe I couldn't resist that! lol Oh dear, it does sound like you've had a rough time of it...I don't get sinus infections often but when I do, OUCH! I can't even imagine having it for that long, you poor thing. Hopefully that nasal spray will continue to help you!!

Even though you haven't been feeling well, you certainly have managed to get a lot done. We women always do seem to manage, no matter what we feel like! lol

Love the new pictures of darling Miss Emmy, such a doll she is!! It certainly is hard to believe she's 7 months old already, gosh where does the time go.

You take good care of yourself and know that I'm thinking of you! Big Hugs xoxo

I really love that photo of you, Diane. Goodness, you look so young, but then, comparatively speaking, you ARE young. LOL

Sounds like you're finally feeling better. I know how hard it is to have to push yourself to get things done when you feel lousy.

Seven months. Good grief, it seems like that baby was just born a couple of weeks ago. She's as cute as can be and I swear, her hair looks a little "reddish" to me in these photos.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday season, too, my friend. And I really hope you recover completely from this sinus and viral mess so that you can really enjoy yourself.

xoxoxo

Hi Diane,
Sorry that you've been sick....I hope that you are feeling better real soon.

I agree with the others...you sure have been busy to get all of those things done. Diane, please don't push yourself to much so that you are sick over the holidays.

Emmy is really growing up fast. She is such a beautiful and precious little one. I love the picture of the two of you. It is priceless.

We all know how it is with the blogging and this busy time of the year. Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comments.

May your days be filled with many blessings, lots of love, family, friends and laughter !

You are a precious friend, Diane!
