Yep, it's that time again already. Hard to believe, but this week has flown by with wings on it.
And once again, I won't be cooking Sunday Dinner this week. But this time I have a very good excuse.
For those of you who are long time readers of my blog, you may remember baby Seth, my great nephew. He belongs to Danny and Mikki. Danny is my sister Ducky's son.
Are you still with me? Seth is now 6 months old and will be dedicated at Danny and Mikki's church Sunday morning. After church Danny and Mikki have invited all the family to their house for grilled burgers and hot dogs. Of course anybody who'd like to be there for the dedication is invited for that as well.
So I'll be enjoying hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner tomorrow. A bonus is that somebody else will be grilling them!
What are your plans for Sunday Dinner? If you're cooking, what's on the menu? Going out to eat? Where, and what do you plan to order? Just post your feedback in the comments. And I fully intend to cook Sunday Dinner next week if all goes as planned. I've got several things planned for the next several Sunday Dinners. When I bought groceries Thursday night I shopped with several menu options in mind.
One thing I shopped for was ingredients for BARB'S delicious BREAKFAST BURRITOS. I made them Friday night, and mercy, what a mess of burritos her recipe makes! I ended up with 29 burritos, less the 4 Lamar and I had for supper.
I used my biggest bowl to mix the filling ingredients together and barely had room to stir and mix everything together. I told Barb I really should have used my dishpan!
I just love knowing I have some delicious, instant, homemade meals in the freezer for those times I'm too TARD to wiggle, much less cook. And they'll be great for quick meals and snacks. We're great fans of breakfast and Mexican food here, and how can you go wrong with a wonderful combination of the two?
Barb also has a recipe for dinner burritos listed under the breakfast burrito recipe on that link. I'm going to try those soon.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipes, Barb!JENNY @ PRAIRIE FARMERESS tagged me for a meme. This one uses the letters of your middle name.
Here's the rules:
You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant
to your life for each letter of your middle name.
If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name
you would have liked to have had.
When you are tagged you need to write your own blog
post containing your own middle name game facts.
At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person
for each letter of your middle name to tag.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them
they’re tagged and to read your blog.
I have a bit of a dilemma. You see, I use my middle name as my call name. My name is Lena Diane, as many of you will know from my blog address. I was named for my Mama's stepmother, who was the first Lena. Since she was still living, Mama called me Diane to cut down on confusion.
(Aside: When I started school every year, I was counted absent several times because the teacher would call roll and ask for Lena Cook (my maiden name). I never answered because I didn't know who Lena Cook was, but I always wondered if we were kin somehow, LOL!)
So, I pondered, should I go ahead and use Diane for this meme, or should I use Lena as it's the more unused portion of my name? I decided to use Lena, so here goes!
L - LOVE - Something that I'm good at. I love deeply and fiercely.
E - EAT - Something I obviously like to do, since I weigh approximately the same as as a small foreign car.
N - NIGHT OWL - Actually, lately I've been a frustrated and slightly reformed night owl. Since Emmy gets here every morning anywhere from 6:30-7:30 am I have to get in bed by 10:30 or 11 pm to get a halfway decent night's sleep. Most of the time I don't get in bed that early so I just hope I can sneak in a nap sometime during the day while Emmy sleeps.
A - AUTUMN - My favorite season, followed closely by Winter. I know this is lame, but I've agonized over something that starts with "A" for an hour and I'm ready to get this done and posted.
And now, I'm going to tag 4 of you to do this middle name meme:
JESSICA
CECIL
LYNNE
MIGHTY MOM
Okay, y'all have your assignment. Have fun! With that, I'm going to wrap this up and try to get it posted.
Y'all have a blessed Sunday, and may God bless you with all you need, and enough to share.

Don't seem lame to me... I figured and added and subtracted( and whined) till I figured out what I wanted to write. I decided I only had to please me, so what the hey.I write what pleases me and try to be somewhat entertaining....
I'd like to come over on Monday and see everyone. I may call Frankie tomorrow I'd like to see them too.
I don't get a chance to run around too much.
Night Sister, Love you.
Donna
No way am I tackling that meme. My middle name is Elizabeth. Z for zany perhaps?
Dinner? Thinking about burgers, steak fries (from freezer), and maybe some field peas. The canned variety I buy here aren't bad at all.
I'm actually preparing Sunday dinner. I believe we will have Meat Loaf, sourcream mashed potatoes, mixrd melon slices, green salad, garlic bread. That's what we're having if I stay in the mood to cook. If not, who knows!
Your hamburgers and hot dogs sound good! Won't be long before Emmy will be chowin' down on some hot dogs.
YOU CRACK me uppppp, Quote: Since I weigh as much as a small foreign car!!! That was hallarious and I am laughing myself silly all by my self at home.
Sunday dinner, on the way home from church I will stop and eat at my favorite Mexican restuarant El Finnex, I am alone this weekend so I will treat myself out for lunch.
Have a great Sunday Diane, thanks again for the Button you made me for Kevin!
CONGRATULATIONS to Danny, Mikki and Seth on their special day
Hi Diane,
I've been reading all the posts you made while I was gone and it felt just like a good catch up visit. Your sweet Emmy is growing so! I just can't get over it!!
Sunday dinner for us is at our daughter's house this week. It's a welcome home and a birthday celebration for Bill all is one.
I'm looking forward to seeing my grandsons. I bet they've grown while we were gone :)
xoxo
Hi Diane,
Since we didn't make it to church last evening, we went to early service today. So I got to have sunday dinner out!!
Good job on the meme. I can tell you love in a special way just through your writing. I love that about you :-)
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment.
Have a restful, blessed sunday.
It is always a special time when babies are dedicated to God!
You've worked so hard this week just relax and enjoy the cook-out!
I'm not feeling too purt myself...some kind of wierd eye infection in both eyes...I'm going to the doc tomorrow...anyhow...I just ordered pizza and we'll get two meals out of that.
I've got breakfast burritos planned for in the morning...
I've always loved your full name and when I think of you I really think Miz Lena Diane ;)
Where is Autumn btw??? It is hot and humid here today and I'm sick and tared of it!!
You have a good 'un!!
:)
It is a birthday weekend around here so there is a lot of eating out. Pat took me out for pizza today for lunch and we are going out to Max Dale's Steak & Chop House for a steak dinner. On Max. They sent me a coupon for a free dinner within a week before or after my birthday. Too good to pass up!
Diane,
Just wanted to stop by and tell you that I have passed on an award to you. Stop by to get your badge.
I hope that you rested some this weekend. Take care of you and enjoy Emmy during the new week.
May your days be filled with love and laughter!

some for you to Lena Diane Muwahhhhhh!
Miss G
I think Lena is a very pretty name and I love your meme answers.
Diane, thanks for the encouraging word on my post. I'm glad I "sound" better. That helps me.
That looks like a fun meme, enjoyed reading your answers, but I'll put it on my list of things to do on my blog one day.
Got a kick out of "farmerESS". My MIL is fond of putting an -ess onto nouns, sounds old fashioned but cute.
Aren't those breakfast burritos just the greatest thing to have tons of in the freezer? I swear, I don't mind cooking most of the time but I'm not a morning person and cooking breakfast isn't my idea of heaven, so that's why I invented this recipe. It works for me!
Here's hoping we both have a little easier week! Grandchildwise. LOL
I'm totally lying. I miss Cameron all week long and can't wait to see him on Friday.
Love you, sweet friend,
Barb
Boy those burgers and hot dogs sound really yummy. Hope you had a wonderful time.
Take care,
Connie
Hi Lena Diane,
That was a nice MEME about you. May God richly bless baby Seth and his parents,Danny and Mikki.
I played catch up and read back through your blog page. Sweet Miss Emmy is so adorable and I just love that smile of hers. Whether she is garbed in pink, blue or green, she is undoubtedly a little princess and you're doing a wonderful job of being her Grandma and caregiver.
Peace and blessings,
Enid in Belize City
Hello Diane,
I just love those grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Congratulations on your great nephew getting dedicated. I remember when our 2 girls were dedicated. It was just awesome. I did enough cooking this weekend for me and you both. (lol). Just thought I would pop in and say hi and hope you have a great day.
Take care,
Karen H.
Yea, time flew by so fast - if one could save time in a bottle? Thanks for the family update then - congrats!
Great meme Diane!
Wishing you a lovely week - hugs and love:-)
Hi Diane. I've been having earache and not feeling up to snuff, so made a big kettle of vegetable beef soup to eat on for a while. Now if I could just get up enough energy to make some homemade bread.... I'd like that.
I hope your Sunday was nice.
I like your name "Lena Diane" I think it's beautiful.
The burritos sound yummy!!
We finally got a short shower of rain today!! I hope we get more tonight, but who knows??
I enjoyed the meme and I was tagged for this one some time back. You reminded me that I need to do mine. I better get to thinking about it! :)
Gosh, Seth is 6 months old already?!! Make sure you post new pictures of him:-) I've been wanting to make Barb's breakfast burritos, I think my boys would love them!! Thanks for the warning, I'll make sure I use my HUGEST pan! lol Very much enjoyed your middle name meme...love the name Lena. Diane, I met NG today and oh my, what a fun time we had...we got along famously:-) Will post about it tomorrow!! xoxo
hey girl, finally back, but barely....Are you wanting me to do the middle name tag again??
suppose I could and try to come up with different stuff....
once I've recovered and my last functional brain cell starts sparking again.
I saw you on someone elses blog and thought I would visit. you seem like such a sweet person. Yep, I was right! LOL! So howdy neighbor!
So where was my burritos? Especially if you had like 50? What all was in them?
Diane, I think you use to have Amy on your sidebar. (Amy Wilhoite). Anyway, she passed away yesterday, the 10th. Didn't know if you knew or not.
What a blessing to know about Seth's dedication!
I'm way behind - I can't remember Sunday dinner. OH, yes, now I do. The girls didn't have a good day at all, so it was a disaster.
I love autumn the best too! Good meme. I hope it cools off now for you so that you can enjoy cooking again. I'd love to try some of Barb's burritos, but have not the energy to make them! Hey, maybe I should hint and she'll bring me some when she comes over the mountain to visit next month! What do you think??
What? No Sunday dinner?
G - generous
