My Disability Hearing

Wednesday at 1:45 pm Central Daylight time I'll be in Jonesboro, Arkansas in federal court for my disability hearing.

If you feel led to pray for me during this time, I'd be very appreciative and so grateful for your prayers.

I already know that I'll be required to give personal testimony about the state of my health over the last several years up to the present. My husband, Lamar and my daughter, Jessica most likely will be required to testify about the condition of my health as well.

I have a paralegal from Legal Aid who in Arkansas is allowed to give counsel just like a lawyer. She's already went over some of my testimony with me and has presented
cases in the past before the judge who will be hearing my case. She assured me that the judge is thorough but fair. She also told me that this particular judge sometimes renders his judgment at the end of the hearing as to whether he will approve or deny your disability, and sometimes he makes you wait until the paperwork goes through the legal system, which can take as long as six months.

I'm hoping and praying that not only will the judge approve me on the spot, but that he will tell me tomorrow that I'm approved so I don't have to wait all that time, wondering if this ordeal is over or if I have to keep appealing.

Even if he does approve me tomorrow my paralegal says that I'll still have to wait until the paperwork goes through the legal channels before I'll receive my first check, any backpay and my insurance kicks in - which may take as long as six months, remember? Yeah....

Now I've said this before, but I really do mean this: I would settle for just getting my insurance reinstated. The little bit of money I stand to get each month is not even enough to make this battle to get my disability worthwhile. It's the insurance that I need so badly. Now I won't turn down the money, 'cause every little bit helps, but anybody who doesn't have insurance knows how hard it is to try to do without it.

I know I have some praying blogging buddies out there, and I humbly ask and covet your prayers on Wednesday for this hearing. I have over 2 years of waiting, praying and appeals riding on this hearing, not to mention a monthly check and most importantly, dependable health insurance.

In advance, because I know I can depend on you to pray, I want to say THANK YOU all for your prayers. I am blessed with such dear and faithful friends, and I never take
you for granted.

Thanks to all of you who've already been covering me in prayer for this hearing since I mentioned it several weeks ago.

God is good, and He is faithful and just.

May God bless you all is my fervent prayer.

OK, you're on the list for tomorrow AM.

Please, if you have a min to spare, send up a prayer for my mom. She's having her gall bladder out in the AM. I am worried.

I would say imagine that judge in his underwear...but that might do you more harm than good ;-)

God Bless, dear friend.

Dear Sweet Diane,
I have been praying for you since you requested this and mentioned it a while back. I have come by to pray for you tonight and will indeed continue to do so.
Father, You know the need for Diane, you know her heart Father. You know her physical conditon. You word tells us Father that you give us your children the desires of your heart, and Diane's desire is to be able to take care of her physical health. So I ask you lord that you grant Diane the ability through this Judge to be able to have her basic need's met when she goes before him tomorrow.
Father I ask that you would lay upon the Judges heart the need to grant Dianes request. Everyone on this earth Father deserves the right to have insurance regardless of there financial needs. This is not a want Lord it is a need and I pray you grant it. Thank-you Father in advance.....
Diane, I will keep praying, I hope it is a peaceful day for you tomorrow and the victory is won!
Love you

I just now saw this and it's 2:20 mountain time. I'm afraid I missed the crucial time, but you may still be in the courtroom right now. I'm praying for you and the judge. I guess I didn't ever hear why you lost your insurance benefits. I hear that happens a lot these days. Craziness!

I'll be praying for you although it is now past that time on the Pacific coast so you have already done your turn in the barrel. I hope it will work out fine for you. In another year and a month I'll hit Medicare age and look forward to that. I have pretty good insurance, was able to continue mine from work, but I have been paying the premiums myself and they are up to almost $500/month! Medicare and the supplements will probably save me more than half of that.

You know I'll be praying for you, Diane. Because I haven't had health or dental insurance in three years now, for the first time in my life, and I know how unbelievably important it is. I so understand that you'd be thrilled just to get that insurance reinstated so I'll pray my heart out for you.
