Can you believe it's Friday already? I can hardly believe it, but my calender assures me that it's so.
On Thursday Lamar and I rode the Sr. Citizen's van to Jonesboro to visit with Jessica and Emmy for a few hours. I took several pics to share with y'all.
Most of them are self-explanatory, I think.
Jessica and Emmy are doing very well, although due to a medication that Jessica was taking she had to stop breast feeding Emmy. The medication made Jessica's milk start drying up so Emmy is taking formula all the time now and she seems to be well satisfied with it.
I gave Emmy a bottle while I was there and she took about 2 ½ ounces at that feeding. Jessica says that at times she takes a full 4 ounces in one feeding which is a healthy amount for a 2 week old infant. Jessica started out feeding Emmy then I finished feeding her so Jessica could do a few things.
Jessica is hoping to go back to work in a few weeks if her doctor agrees. It's looking like I will be taking care of Emmy for a few hours, several days a week if Jessica works part-time. If she goes full-time another lady may be keeping Emmy most of the time. It's still a little early yet and things may change. We'll just have to wait and see.
Jason graduates from high school Friday night and Lamar and I plan to go if everything works out so we can. We plan to ride with Lamar's Mom but she's been sick so there's a possibility she may cancel out on us. I really want to be there to support Jason and be there for him.
I am so proud of him for finishing school along with working to support his family. He has shown a lot of maturity in the last year, more than many men older than him.
I want to get pictures of his graduation if I can get a good place to sit with a good view for pictures. If we get to go we're planning on getting there early so we can get seats. Jason says that it's a small gym and it's usually standing room only so I suppose we'll do the best we can.
One of the reasons Lamar and I made the trip to see Jessica and Emmy is that Lamar is leaving on Monday for Texas to see his Dad and brother and friends in Dallas/Fort Worth. Grandpa needed an Emmy fix before he left for a week or so.
Grandma was beginning to have withdrawals herself. I hadn't seen Emmy and Jessica for almost a week. I can tell that Emmy has gained weight and grown in that short time. Babies grow and change so fast when they're so young! Blink and you miss something, and I'm not exaggerating very much.
As of this moment we have no particular plans for this weekend or Memorial Day. For one thing Lamar is leaving Monday morning so he won't be here anyway.
Just on the offchance that you haven't figured it out yet, my bunch tends to do things on impulse at the last minute. Occasionally we'll plan something a little ahead, but generally we're laid back and take things as they come.
The mailman brought another surprise on Thursday, but I'll save that for another post later on Friday or Saturday. I think I've rambled enough for one post.
I hope everyone has a great Friday and a wonderful holiday weekend.
Blessings to all my dear friends and family.

What a pretty baby. I love the photo of her looking up at Lamar.
Sounds like everyone's doing really well. Jessica looks great.
I think being laid back and just taking things as they come is the way to go. Heck of a lot better than living in the midst of constant chaos because all your careful plans go haywire. LOL
Not that I know anything about THAT!
You all look great - it's nice to know everyone is doing so well. The hard part is over so now the fun begins. I hope you get to take care of her some - this is just the sweetest time and it goes by so quickly.
Have a great weekend, my friend. And safe trip to Lamar.
She'll fill out quick on formula...my daughter let people stress her out about the formula but sometimes BF can't be done!
Have a happy and safe weekend ya'll!!
:)
LOVE the photos! I'm so glad everyone is doing so well, and congratulations to Jason for completing high school. That can't have been easy, with all the other concerns in his life, but it is so important for his family and their future. Way to go, Jason!
Emmy looks like she's thriving! Can't get over her cuteness!
I know what you mean about needing that baby fix when you're a Grammy.
You just can't help yourself!!
Congrats to Jason. Well done!

Emmy has such beautiful eyes!!
She is such a beautiful baby Diane!! Absolutely precious! And four ounces is FANTASTIC for a wee one like her! You look like a proud, doting Grandma! Thanks for the pictures!
Oh Diane I know how wonderful it feels to hold your little grandbaby tight in your arms. Your lovely smile certainly reveals what you are feeling. Emmy is a darling little one. Her eyes look very dark, is she going to be brown eyed?
I hope you can get a good seat at the graduation.
My granddauughter is graduating college next month, I hope to get some pictures too.

She has really grown! She is doing really well. Formula is good stuff these days, though expensive! Kristen did one each way.
Have a good week-end! Lots of randomness out there in blogland today.
What precious pictures Diane. They do grow so fast, don't they? I'm so glad she is and Jessica are doing so well. I can tell how proud you are of Jason. He really is doing a good job.
We're rather last-minute too. We have a forecast of nothing but rain for the weekend - so if we do anything it won't be outdoors!!
Have a blessed weekend Diane.
Look at how bright eyed she already is...she's adorable!! Just in the two weeks since her birth I can see a huge difference in her! Congrats to Jason...I do hope you can make it to his graduation, he certainly is a young man to be proud of. Safe trip to Lamar...the way Emmy is looking at him in that one picture is precious!! xoxo
