You Can Call Off The Search Party

Y'all can call off the search party, I'm still alive.

The truth is, I seem to be in the midst of a bad case of writer's block, or as I like to call it, a deep blue funk.

I'm just not inspired to write about anything right now. There's an overabundance of mundane happening around here at the present. On the positive side, though, there's no current crises, either. A case of "no news is good news", I suppose.

Added to my personal funk, I'm not feeling my best. I'm not sick, exactly, I'm just not feeling well. My arthritis has really flared up in the last week and that's not helping matters. I'm not sleeping well or enough, and when I do sleep, I'm not resting. I don't have any energy at all. I don't know if I have a mild case of the flu or what's going on. Hopefully, whatever it is, it will pass soon.

Thanks to those of you who've emailed and commented about my dearth of posting and visiting your blogs. I've visited and commented here and there, but not to the extent that I usually do. Once again, another symptom of my general ennui.

I'm not mad at anybody. I'm not planning on abandoning you or my blog. I'm just a little down physically and not inspired to post anything very cohesive right now.

I hope to post something a little more blogworthy on Friday, if I can muster up the energy and a subject. I know this post is all over the place, but it's been almost a week since I posted and I wanted to let everybody know I'm okay, just kind of blogless and lethargic.

How's that for vague?

Have a great Friday, y'all.

Diane,

Praying you feel better soon. My mother suffers with arthritis, so I know that can get you down. Add to that possible cold or flu and well let's just say "bless your heart". I know it is not fun.

Hope you are able to rest and feel better soon.

Awww..Diane! :-( I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I have wondered where you've been.

Take care of yourself. That's the most important thing! We'll be around when you feel well enough or inspired enough to post again. :-)

I go through those times, too...not knowing what to write. I think it's a blog occupational hazard. ;-)

See you soon...I hope. Take Care!

Hi Diane,
I'm sorry you've been feeling a bit off. It's kind of a blue time of year for many, with not much sun, etc.
Maybe if you get a good night's sleep you'll feel more like yourself!
You're in my thoughts and prayers. I do appreciate all your kind and loving words about my Grandpa. They mean so much...
(((hugs)))

Yeah, I think winter can be difficult too. I'm not doing a daily post lately.

Not that I want to give up any more than you do; it's just some days there isn't a lot to say.

Hang in there and feel better soon.

I'm so sorry you're having a tough time. Hope whatever's got you down eases up soon. Rest all you can, and know that lots of us want you feeling good again.

I love your photo of the posse. LOL

I wish you didn't have such bad arthritis. I know it gets you down when it flares up like this. Do you take anything, like Aleve?

You know, I never worry about your post frequency. I think all of us hit these spots and sometimes I think it's better to do what you do which is just stay kind of quiet until you have something to say. I, on the other hand, throw some mindless drivel out there. You know. Something like step by step gripes about cleaning a bedroom for pete's sake. Riveting stuff! LOL

Hope you feel perky again soon but for heaven's sake, don't apologize to anyone. Bloglines aggravates me a lot but it DOES let me know when you're back so it's all good.

Ok, ok, I'll tell the tall, dark, handsome Mounties I sent out searching for you to come back to me! hehe I'm so sorry to hear that you have the dreaded blahs...I think this time of year affects everyone one way or another. You just take good care of yourself and don't worry about your blog or us...we're not going anywhere:-) Hugs xoxox

I'm with these ladies -- wishing you felt better. This is such a hard time of year when the days are short, dark and cold. I'm positive that the month of January is 75 days long instead of 31, and by the time we get to February we're covered in blue funk. Hang in there and come back refreshed.

I'm so glad you "checked in"! I have missed you. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well - this time of year doesn't help. It does tend to be a bit gloomy.
I have the same "writer's block" problem. I think it would be very helpful if there was a Bloggy List of Suggestions to spark a few ideas. We could go there and get inspired or something. I'm not sure who would be in charge of suggestions.....certainly not me:-)
Just rest and do something you enjoy. We're here for you.

I should have such Writer's Block.

I've resorted to posting pictures of myself and all my Grumpy Old Men Celebrity Lookalikes.
