Prayer Requests and Monday Happenings

Our 2 Mama's-to-be, Jessica and Mikki.

First of all, I need to ask everyone to pray for Jessica. She is a sick puppy as I type this.

Jessica woke up early Monday morning, during the night, really, vomiting. After several hours of nonstop vomiting and not being able to keep anything down at all,
Jason made the wise decision to take her to the emergency room. She was severely dehydrated and they immediately started an IV to get fluids into as fast as possible.

After drawing blood and doing some lab work, the doctors determined that she has a particularly nasty urinary tract infection. She has fever, nausea, vomiting, the whole nine yards. After receiving 2 bags of IV fluids and antinausea drugs, they allowed her to go home with more antinausea meds and antibiotics, with orders to come back to the ER if she is no better or gets worse. She is also to take it easy for a few days, and no work.

Please pray for my baby girl and her baby if you are a praying person. I covet your
prayers for them. I know many of you are already praying for them and for Mikki and baby Seth, and mere words cannot express how much I appreciate your love and concern for them.

As for Mikki, she is about the same, and still in the hospital. Cecil, Sue and I went to
see her this afternoon and she had a fetal monitor on while we were there. How amazing to hear little Seth's heartbeat bipping away! He had the hiccups for a while and we could even hear that, and see Mikki's tummy shaking with his hiccups. How dear and precious it was.

You wouldn't believe all the medications poor Mikki is taking, trying to buy all the time for Seth that she possibly can. She is already on 3 blood pressure meds, and she is already taking the maximum dosages of all of them now, and that's in addition to several other medications.

As of Sunday her doctor told her if she goes into labor on her own they won't stop it. She will be 35 weeks on Wednesday and they hope to get her to 37 weeks if possible. Her doctor hasn't said anything about her going home, and we're thinking she may be in the hospital for the remainder of her pregnancy, however long that might be at this point.

Please keep praying for Mikki and baby Seth, and thank you again for your prayers
on their behalf. I'm thankful for Christian friends who will help me lift up prayers for my loved ones.

Please don't hesitate to ask me if you or your loved ones are in need of prayer. I would consider it a priviledge to serve you as you have served me when I've asked for your prayers.
Cecil, Sue and I were in Jonesboro today to celebrate Cecil's birthday with lunch together. We went to a local Chinese buffet and it was pretty good today. Of course we usually eat lunch out on Mondays when we're together anyway so we'd have probably eaten out even if it hadn't been Cecil and Donna's birthdays on Monday. Poor Donna had to work today, bless her heart.

After we ate our lunch we went to visit Mikki. Mikki is in one of the 2 hospitals in Jonesboro and Jessica was at the other hospital's ER at the same time. Thank God Jessica got to go home.

We only stayed a couple of hours with Mikki, then we came back to my apartment for an hour or so before we went back to Trumann for a ladies' meeting at my church.

That was the extent of my day. Cecil has to work Tuesday and won't be here. Usually Mondays and Tuesdays are her days off, but she has to work this Tuesday. I don't know if Jessica will feel like driving the 5 minutes here to visit with me and let me baby her.
My sister, Donna, posted this picture and I wanted to share it here. I was either 4 or 5 when this was taken. It's dated Nov. '68 but my family is notorious for taking their time getting pictures developed. I think this was taken in late Winter of '68 rather than November, which would make me 4 years old when this was taken.

From left to right, that's me, Sue's oldest daughter, and Cecil. Cecil was 3 here.

Believe it or not, I remember very well the day this picture was taken. That coat I have on was red with a black collar and it was wool. Scratchy wool. I absolutely despised it and was so glad when Mama decreed that it was too small and ready to be passed down to Cecil!

I think that's about all the news I can share right now. If anything new develops with either Mikki or Jessica I'll update here.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Love and blessings...

Dearest Diane,

My prayers are indeed continuing for Mikki and will certainly add Jessica to them...the poor dears! I really do hope Jessica feels better real soon! No fun being sick while you're pregnant.

I had to laugh when you mentioned the scratchy wool coat...I had one similar and like you, was so glad when I finally outgrew it! lol

Glad you were able to have a nice lunch with Cecil on her birthday:-)

Take good care my friend! xoxo

Dear Diane,
I'm so glad you left me a comment because your posts were not showing in my bloglines! I will certainly pray for Jessica. I know first hand how uncomfortable they can be, as I experienced them with I carried our daughter.
I'll also keep Mikki and little Seth in my prayers too.
Take care of yourself, my dear friend, and try not to worry too much..
xoxo

Diane,

Speaking as an only child I just love to hear you talk about the bond you and your sisters have. What fun y’all must have together.

Great pictures. I know exactly what you mean about remembering pictures when you were wearing something you hated. I can point out many outfits in pictures that I despised. (lol)

Bless Jessica’s heart what a thing to have to deal with. Praying she starts feeling better quickly.

How sweet that y'all got to hear baby Seth’s heartbeat and hiccups.

Have a blessed day and please keep us posted on Jessica and Mikki.

Love and Hugs, Lyndy

Boy. It doesn't look like Peanut's gonna give poor Jessica a break!

Seriously, my prayers are with you and the family; for Peanut's safe trip into the world, for Jess's health, for Mikki's health.

The good thing about the God we serve is that I think He loves to hear from us every now and then; and enjoys it even more when He can bless us.

Stay encouraged.

I will be praying for them, Diane.
I haven't been following the story but will now gladly add them to my prayers!

The little picture is adorable. You and I are about the same age!

Blessings!

My continued prayers, also. It's just no fun to be sick on top of being pregnant!

The picture you as a little girl is so cute.

Poor things. Both of them must be pretty uninfatuated with pregnancy right about now. Thankfully Mikki is right where she can be monitored constantly for any change at all. Her situation can go from bad to terrible very quickly so I'm thankful they're keeping here there although I imagine she completely hates it.

And poor Jessica. I hope the antibiotics cure that nasty infection quickly. I wish someone could get her over to your place. I think being with her mama right now would be a comfort.

The first time we heard Cameron's heartbeat, tears rolled down my face. Yes, it's precious and very moving.

Your girls are in my prayers, my friend. You are, too, because I know you're worried about both of them. xoxoxo

I hope Jessica's feeling better by now! It's hard when your baby's sick, no matter how old!

Trusting God for safe pregnancies for both of them.

I think you had a lot to tell today. More than most people. I understand your concerns and ask for prayer. She'll be in my thoughts , the both of them I mean. It's such a hard time when sick as pregnant. Waiting for the best of all gifts, and beeing nervous about it.

But how can you remember the color of your coat? Must have been all the scratching. My wife (Anna) uses alpaca when knitting for our grandson - to avoid the scratching.

Have a blessed week.
