SURPRISE! ! The Sequel

Color me SURPRISED! yet again, and for the second time in two days!

I dutifully emailed my ballot of nominees for the Share The Love Blog Awards to Heather at One Woman's World yesterday. Today I checked back to see how the nominations are going, and lo and behold, somebody nominated me for Happiest Blog, and Blogger You'd Most Like To Meet!

You could have knocked me over with a feather! Okay, it would have to be a very hefty feather, considering I'm a plus-sized girl, but still! I'm in good company, too, because a large percentage of my best blogging buddies are also nominated.

I am truly honored, y'all, and THANK YOU so much for nominating me. That button will be proudly displayed in my sidebar. I can't wait until the winners are announced, but let me just say, You're all winners in my book. Seriously. I'm just sorry I can't give you ALL an award, because you certainly deserve it.

Not that anybody would like, give a great hairy rip about receiving an award I came up with, but if I had an award to give, y'all would all get one.

This is just a fun thing I saw at BooMama's and at Barb's, among others.

Remember my new printer I've been so anxious about? Well, it finally arrived today and I've got it hooked up and operating. But.

BUT. There always seems to be a "BUT", doesn't there? It's working fine, mechanically, software, all that good stuff. It's the actual printing where I've hit a snag.

I mean, it's supposed to be a printer/copier/scanner/fax, so it's not asking too much for it to actually, like, PRINT, is it?

I've reinstalled the ink cartridge at least a dozen times, worked through the troubleshooting list just as many times, gargled "Dixie" while simultaneously tapdancing and crocheting a sweater, and still the printing is worse than I could sketch with a charcoal briquette and crayons on tree bark. And I can't even draw flies, much less anything recognizable as vaguely artistic.

I think my printer is afflicted with the dreaded "sat too long on the shelf in the warehouse and the ink cartridge dried up" disease. Or, you know, something else. Just a guess, you understand. My solution is to keep fiddling with it until (a) I figure it out, (b) I tear it up, (c) Wait until the 1st of February when I can afford to buy new ink cartridges, or (d) Some combination of all the above.

I know you're all just on the edge of your seats anticipating the exciting conclusion, so once again, I'll keep you all abreast of the latest breaking news regarding "Diane's Dastardly Deeds Detailing Her Adventures With Her Dadblasted Printer". Or something like that.

So far we've had ham sandwiches last night and ham , white beans, corn and greens for lunch today. Don't worry, none of it will be wasted, and I'll be cooking that hambone with beans or in soup, never fear.

Some longtime dear friends have invited me and Lamar to their new home for lunch on Saturday. We'll be there for a good portion of the afternoon and evening, and another dear friend's beloved aunt died Thursday and the wake is Saturday morning.

We've got a lot to do tomorrow, so it may be late when I get to it, but Lord willing, I'll be back sometime Saturday evening to do my Sunday Dinner post.

Have wonderful, blessed Saturday, y'all.

Congratulations on the nomination. No one deserves it more!!

Ah, the wonderful world of computers and their hardware. It took me and Tim two weeks to figure out we had to turn off our internet connection for the printer etc. software installation to work.

And don't get me started on my internet connections or the lack of them.

Have a great weekend.

Well, Your Grace, I give a big hairy rip! LOL You crack me up.

I hope you get the stupid thing to work. I know how frustrating that is.

And with that, I'm off to bed. Good grief. It's the middle of the night. I'm about bloggered out!

This is exactly why you were nominated for Happiest blog - even when the printer youve been waiting for doesnt do its thing, you laugh about it. And of course everyone would love to meet you; if there had been a category for blogger you'd most like to feed you - you would have been right there too!

Can I just tell you how happy I am that you're nominated? It made my day.

And you could always call the customer service number listed in your printer brochure..if you sound anything like I do, they'll be so frustrated by your Southern accent that they'll expedite your call. :-)

Congratulations on the nominations..whistles innocently!! hehe!! Richly deserved I must add:-)

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear you're having problems with the printer...you've tried cleaning the print heads and everything? Any way you can return it or call them to tell them that it's not printing? That is just so frustrating!!!

What a wonderful surprise to receive that ham from an anonymous friend!! Warms the heart to know that there are still some people out there who do things from the goodness of their heart:-)

Blogger finally let me switch yesterday...I really love it so far:-) Hugs xoxox

Congratulations Diane! This is a happy place and of course, we'd all like to meet you.

I hope you get that printer working before you throw the whole thing out the window.

Congratulations Diane. You absolutely deserve those nominations. Absolutely!!
Sorry about the printer. I just hate it when that "stuff" happens. My solution is usually to give whatever isn't working a good smack. Probably not the best idea - but honestly!!
I made my switch to the new Blogger and I'd like to give that a good hard smack. Now my word verification and picture "thingy" have disappeared in my comment column - and it take FOREVER for my blog to download because for some reason my "turbo" that comes with the dialup from my isp shuts off just for my own blog :)
It's days like this I consider deleting the whole thing!
Have a great weekend Diane. Sorry for complaining :)

Congratulations on your nominations!!

I hate hooking up new softwear/printers or anything like that. It's so frustrating when they act so darn stubborn and won't work!

Enjoy your day!!

Barb's, among others.

Shame about the printing. Did you get it under a warranty? When one buys something it isnt too much to expect it to work correctly. g Her Adventures With Her Dadblasted Printer". Or something like that.

Have blessed Saturday Di
