Can you believe we're already 3 weeks into the New Year? It doesn't seem possible, but it's true.
I have few other things to update and mention, so let's get the Sunday Dinner thing out of the way first.
Not very imaginative, I know, but we're having Hamburger Soup and homemade cornbread tomorrow. It's cold and dreary and wet, and hot soup just warms your chilly bones. Well, it does mine anyway.
It's alternated between raining and sleeting all day and the temperature has hovered just above the freezing mark. So far this winter all the snow and ice has skirted just to our West and North, barely missing us. I can do without the ice, but I would like to have some snow. My sympathies to those who are housebound because of the ice. Some people are still without electricity, bless 'em.
What are your plans for Sunday Dinner? You all know the drill - shout out in the comments and share your plans or your menu. Now that that's out of the way, a few updates.
Remember those CHAIRS I couldn't make up mind whether to keep and try to store just in case I ever needed them again or to get rid of them? I told you I'd keep you informed of my decision, and I had Lamar put them out on the curb for trash pickup. I haven't looked out to see if anybody rescued them or not, but it's rained/sleeted all day so I hope they already got them if they wanted them.
Rest in peace, dear 50+year-old chairs. Ye served us well, but now it's time for you to go on to your reward. Amen...
If you read my last post, you know the trials and tribulations I endured in search of a printer/copier/scanner. I made the decision to go ahead and order THIS ONE that I featured in that post. With shipping and taxes the total was $33.o1. If it turns out to be as good as I hope it to be it will be more than worth it. I also saved over $22 on this one compared to the one I wanted that was supposed to be in-store. Never let it be said that I'm not adaptable. I'll have to wait a week or so for it to be shipped here, but I'm copacetic with that. I've waited this long for a new printer, I can wait a little longer.5 Minutes For Mom is sponsoring a Blog party. There'll be prizes at this shindig, too! Click on the button for all the details.

Hey Diane,
Sounds like some great stuff coming up on the ole Blogs.
Sunday Dinner tommorow will be Rotesserie Chicken smoked, asparugus and salad. For dessert it will be Jello with fruit and cool whip.
Your soup sounds yummy too I will have to go on your recipe blog and find that recipe because it sure sounds good.
Have a great Sunday!
Good news about the printer/scanner/copier. Have fun!
Don't you find it hard to part with furniture that you have had such a long time. To me those old things become like part of the family. LOL! I hope your chairs find a new, happy home.
Dinner tomorrow....I am thinking spaghetti & meat sauce and a green salad. I celebrated my birthday today and ate cheesecake (2 pieces) and mini cream puffs so I won't be needing dessert for a few days! The girls brought several kinds of cheesecake, I had one slice of New York and one of white chocolate, raspberry truffle. Oh My gosh! Need I say more, YUM!
I just put a pork roast smothered in bbq sause in my crock pot...and am watching the snowflakes out my window!!
:-D
Tonight for Sunday dinner, we will just be having leftover Chicken Fingers, rice and perogies which I made last night:-) Fix up a plate, nuke it and voila...dinner! lol I think that printer you ordered is a really good deal...anxious to hear how well it works:-) Have a terrific Sunday dear Diane!! Hugs xoxo
What the heck does " copacetic"mean?
You know ya gotta speak southern to me. English please...I'm glad you got the new printer/scanner..now pass me some pictures please.I'm gonna find me old family pics for my blog, and would like some of your too;).Soup sounds good, but I think we're having porkchops. We had fish and shrimp and fries last night(homemade).I think butterpeas and steamed brocolli as sides tonight.
Love you sister;)
BTW, I went to your friend Sombraknights blog.Love his place, but it won't let me comment:(.Tell him I think his work is outstanding, please.
Thanks sister.
Like I told you in email last night, I'm cooking a big pork roast today, too. I was planning to just pop it in the oven and roast it but Tammy put barbecue on my mind. The great thing is we'll have leftovers for a couple of nights - no cooking! It's always hard to spend hours in the kitchen after a day of "playing" with Cameron.
Copacetic isn't even in my dictionary which is pathetic because it's a great word.
Sombra's site is so amazing, it always tickles me when people discover him. I wonder if he's doing his little miniature landscapes on the dominoes I sent him. He was down to two, said they were hard to find and I had a whole set of 55 of them just sitting there collecting dust, so I sent them to him.
I'd say this comment is just about long enough now. Congratulations on the printer. You're going to love it! I'm working on getting my blogroll back into my sidebar. I'm sick and tired of bloglines acting up and preventing me from getting to my friends. I'm going to put it into a dropdown box, though. Otherwise it would go down my sidebar for about two feet because I'm crazy, the number of blogs I follow is so long.
Stay warm. Snowed here again last night and we're completely sick of it. Pretty, but cold and dicey to move around in.
xoxoxo
Hi Diane...nice to meet you.
I'm here from Susie's blog and wanted to drop by---before leaving I wanted to put a 'howdy do' in your comments!
:o)
Good-by chairs; hello printer. I'm sure the printer will be just what you wanted. It's great that it was less expensive.
We are finally getting a break from the gloomy weather. Enjoy your wonderful dinner, and keep safe and warm and cozy.
There's nothing quite like a new piece of equipment! I hope the printer is perfect for you.
Sunday dinner? I used to fix roast/potatoes/carrots/corn/gravy, etc. every Sunday. I'm afraid we've resorted to eating out now that the kids are in their own homes.
I guess I ought to start thinking about what we're going to eat tonight seeing as how it's 3:00. It may just be takeout something. The weather is too pretty here to waste time inside cooking. I'm going to enjoy the sun while it lasts.
Let us know what you think of the printer. It's a good deal!
Cold, wet and dreary here, too. My Starbucks and scone that I had after church is just about gone, so I think some muy delicioso Mexicano is in order. Great comfort food for a day like today.
Oh, and copacetic is a great word.
co·pa·cet·ic /ˌkoʊpəˈsɛtɪk, -ˈsitɪk/ Pronunciation[koh-puh-set-ik, -see-tik] –adjective Slang.
fine; completely satisfactory; OK.
:)
It's a beautiful sunny day here in CA.
We've been cleaning and sorting the freezer today. We found some nice tri tip steaks, so we'll have those (on the grill) baked potatoes and caesar salad.
Diane, my Grandma used to say copacectic all the time..
I haven't heard it since she passed.
Thanks for the sweet memory of her today..
xoxox
copacetic means "okay". I use it all the time.
Hi Diane. Just told your sis we're having leftover mac and cheese to which I'll add some of the frozen ham from Christmas.
Sorry about your sleet. It's cold here still but at least it's dry.
Lots of pork today - we had pork ribs, barbequed - we had them two weeks ago, but this was DIL's choice. I discovered a great scalloped potato microwave recipe - so fast and easy. I bought fresh asparagus and croissants, and cheesecake - the kind of 4 choices in one box. I couldn't eat lots of this because of my weight loss effort, but everyone else enjoyed it. We had my SIL over becaue her husbahd took my MIL to Georgia for a visit with her other son. Good day.

Just a big breakfast for us today and then something light around 4:00pm. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I am happy.
Take care,
Connie
We've designated Sunday night as "comfort food" so we had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. Yummy and great leftover sandwiches to last the week too.
Thanks sister for the explanation, thanks to Barb also.Diane knows those big words confuse me;)
