Sunday Dinner, November 12, 2006

It's time again for my Sunday Dinner post, y'all. Man, this week has flown by! So, what's for dinner at Diane's Place? I made homemade meatballs Friday afternoon and froze them individually, then put them in a zip top freezer bag. So for my Sunday Dinner, after I find out how many will be here, I'll take out the needed amount of meatballs and make mushroom gravy to serve them in. I'll also make a big pot of white rice to serve the meatballs and mushroom gravy over. I'll fix some seasoned green beans and some weinies and sauerkraut to go with it, and I made some Fantasy Fudge for dessert.

Now, what are YOUR plans for Sunday Dinner? Are you cooking? What's on the menu? Are you going to a restaurant? What do you plan to order? Share your plans in the comments if you want to participate.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words and concern when I wasn't feeling well. I feel much better, but still not quite up to snuff. Give me a few more days, and Lord willing, I should be back to my old self, thank the Lord. Your sweet words and well wishes mean more to me than you will ever know. Thank you again, my friends.

A question for you: Has anybody switched to the new Beta Blogger lately? I'm curious about it. I have a notice on my Dashboard that my blog is ready to switch over, but I'm VERY leery of it. I don't want to lose my template, and I have heard from more than one source that our old templates from regular Blogger won't transfer. I haven't seen any of the templates for the Beta Blogger, either. I have a test blog, and I thought about switching it over to the Beta Blogger first to see how it goes, but I'm scared it will switch this one, too, since they have the same user name and password. I'm really chicken, y'all. I'm afraid the switch is about to become mandatory, like it or not. If you have anything to share, I'd really like to hear about it.

My love to all, and may your needs be met, and may you have enough to share.

Hey Ms. Diane,
Glad you are feeling better. Your lunch sounds yummy. I won't even be able to come home after church tomorrow because we have all day activities at church. We will eat out and I am not sure where yet. I think it will be at Las Isla's this is a very authentic Mexiacan restaurant close to our church. Its really neat there because there is a man who plays a harp and sings on Sundays there and it is so beautiful. I will eat Fahitas.
Have a Blessed Sunday!

First of all: really glad you feel better - take care!
Dinner plans: We are in Sweden this weekend so when we go back to Norway, we probably grab some fast food on our way. I do hate it, but it is convenient.
Beta Blogger: I have the same worries about my template but hope to be able to migrate too. I especially miss the possibilities to categorize my stuff.

Btw: Thanks for your greeting on my first year blog anniversary!

Your Sunday dinner sounds good! I'm thinking we're going to have fajitas with some of my yummy guacamole. The weather is so pretty here, it's a perfect day to get the grill going.

Glad you're feeling better!

Beta Blogger: It will switch all of your Dashboard over. The template should be ok though - the one Leanne did for me is still there. The only reason why my posts are all messed up and don't have paragraphs anymore was an error that happened when I tried to import it all over to my domain. Had Blogger notified me about the Beta thing a week earlier, I may not have gotten my own site! It looks pretty cool. Let me know if you need help with your template if/when you do switch - I can help! :)

Dinner - no idea yet. Maybe just make our own subs? I feel kinda crappy so I am passing off dinner duty to my husband.

Hey Diane, I didn't know you had a case of the creepin' crud. I sure hope you are over it and rarin' to go!
I haven't changed blogger over yet either, and for the same reason you mentioned. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I am wondering if eventually we will have to change or just not have a blog anymore...
I am having left-over's today. I tried a new recipe yesterday for Chicken Breasts Florentine, and have lots left over. I love making extra, then I don't have to cook for a few days.
In this new recipe I didn't use spinach because I don't like it cooked, but substituted Kale.
The sauce has Parmesan cheese and a tad of nutmeg.
I also have some left over Hershey Chocolate bar and that will be dessert.
Hope you are having a blessed day!

I'm glad you're starting to feel better, Diane. I woke up with a sore throat and a headache so it looks like Cameron's little germs may have gotten me. Sigh....

I'm not doing anything with beta blogger until old blogger starts behaving itself a tad better. I do know if you switch one blog, it will switch all your blogs. You can't pick and choose. I have two practice blogs, one with the old blogger template I started with and another with my new template. But I'm like you. I'm being very cautious before I mess with anything. For now I'd be perfectly happy if old blogger would work right.

Dinner. I'm making homemade chicken pot pie. That's if I ever get out of this office! I'm so busy I'm chasing my own tail but I had to take a quick minute to run over here and say Happy Sunday to you. :-) xoxoxo

Sunday dinner sounds great as usual. I am making meatballs too, but I'm having what my Italian mother prepares for evey sunday dinner - spaghetti, meatballs and sausage. My daughter is coming over - and I know she likes that.
I'm so glad you're beginning to feel better.
How's Jessica doing?
I clicked on that Beta thingy and then chickened out. I'm glad I did now. If you're nervous about changing than I'm not changing either. I'm always so nervous about doing anything different on my blog. I'm afraid the whole think will slip out into cyberspace somewhere never to be seen again. Yikes!! I would have a fit!!
Let me know what conclusion you come to.
Enjoy you sunday - dinner and all!!

As for the Beta, I saw the notice too and they made it sound so good I tried to switch, for some reason it would not let me, I took that as a sign...lol!!
Stay Well!!

Good morning Diane...it's Monday here and I'm finally catching up on posts I missed during the weekend!! Glad to hear you're starting to feel better..hope you're 100% real soon!!!! I've done that often too, make a bunch of meatballs to freeze and then it's something you can use any time, using various sauces/gravies to cook them in. We barbecued hamburgers yesterday...yup even in 28F temps we still bbq...that's what you call a tough Canadian! lol I haven't switched to Beta yet, I've heard too many horror stories about it! Hopefully one day they won't FORCE us to do so!!!! Hugs xoxo

Hi Diane,
Sorry to hear you were fighting a cold. Hope you're winning :)
Sunday Dinner for us was on the road at Red Robin. (A long and very boring ride from Los Angeles)
We arrived safely and that's the main thing.
Poor Jessica! Goodness, I'm glad they found a medicine that would work...
I'm off to check out all your yummy recipes..
((hugs))

Your Sunday dinner sounds wonderful ... we had Pizza !!! It was a big day, no time to cook !!
About Beta Blogger ... I know plenty of bloggers who have happily and easily changed over (even before being prompted on their Dashboard), but I also know others who have had issues. I know I will wait for my message, then see what happens. I know I will make sure I always have a current save of my template, though !! Just in case !!!
Hope you are feeling up to scratch again, Diane.
Have a great week.
Take care, Meow

Hey Di,

Sorry I can't say that I had an exquisite Sunday meal, but the life of grad student doesn't lend itself to making great meals any more. I made a huge pot (more like a vat. LOL!) of turkey chilli earlier in the week. I've been chomping on that all week.

Being a Beta convert, I actually like it. Pictures upload much easier, updates are made automatically (as opposed to waiting for your blog to publish), and it's easier to customize your template (changing fonts, colors, links, etc.). But I was changing over from a simple black blog whereas you're transferring from a cool design which -- I'm assuming -- was pretty expensive and time consuming. That said, unless you're willing to possibly lose your design, I wouldn't suggest you make the switch.

glad you're feeling better.
I don't know anything about this beta blogger thingy.
I'm getting firmly settled into my new home. this small town life may be just what the doctor ordered.
And as much as it's a blow to the ego to have to move back to my moms place I'm sure it does her good to know I still need her.
