What I'm Doing Tonight

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I have been very busy with church events lately. The banquet, (which turned out to be chicken strips and fixin's, but they were good) and the state missionary were both very good, and I really enjoyed the singing and fellowship. A male quarted called "Savior's Heart" sang for us, and did an excellent job, too. There was much praising, clapping and just a good time had by all.

The pic to the left is homemade banana pudding, which I am taking tonight for the fellowship, along with homemade slaw and a couple of 2 liter drinks. We have 3 missionaries who are to speak tonight, and I look forward to another good time in the Lord. I will be gone for the evening again, and I should be back around 10 pm if not earlier. Wish I could take everyone with me. :)

By the way: Anybody notice the elegant serving dish the pudding is inhabiting? LOL Gladware is my friend, you know! Almost indestructible, and if I don't want to fool with leftovers (not that I usually have those, but I have heard others talk about them!) or if I want to send some home with someone, I just toss it or send it home and tell THEM to toss it or whatever they want to do with it. The slaw is in one of these containers, too.

I will be back on later tonight to catch up on what everybody is posting and commenting. Hope everybody is having a beautiful weekend. At 3:20 pm, it's beautiful here in Arkansas. 48 Degrees and sunny, calm winds.........
Georgeous. But, wait a few minutes, it will change, I assure you.

Later..........................

can you tell me something? I heard once that banana pudding is really vanilla pudding and the banana part comes from any sliced bananas that are added. Is that right? Am I a moron?

Looks mighty good, Diane. I'm a big Gladware fan myself, btw. I find it much easier to match lids with containters with Gladware rather than with a box full of Tupperware and Rubbermaid.

And holymama, I believe that is correct. My sister makes it, and I love it, but haven't had it in a while. If I'm not mistaken, I think you can either make it with vanilla pudding and banana slices, or banana flavored pudding. I can't say for sure, though. I'm no chef. The closest I come to being one is when I open a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli. :-)

YUM YUM YUM. When I make banana pudding just for the family, I crumble all the vanilla wafers on top so that you get a little bit of vanilla wafer in every bite. It doesn't look as pretty as yours, but it tastes mighty good. :-)

holymama,
I make mine with vanilla pudding, then slice the bananas and layer with the pudding, vanilla wafers and sometimes cool whip on top. Others use banana pudding and bananas. Some use the cooked pudding and make it hot, others use the instant pudding and make it cold. I use instant vanilla pudding, sweetened condensed milk, cool whip, sweet milk for the pudding, bananas and vanilla wafers. I serve mine cold. I brought home an empty container, and barely got to smell it. :)

And no, you're not a moron, ;) You're my friend, and feel free to visit and ask any questions you like, any time. :)

Mike,
It was good, but now it's gone, LOL. I like the gladware and ziplock containers both.

When I get through answering everyone's comments, I will be visiting your blog and everyone else's in my little circle. :)

anonymous,
So it's you again, is it? As mentioned above, the starving masses took care of the pudding. No more, bye bye. ;)

Yes, I saw zztop just a little while ago. All I can tell you is to leave her a love note on here and see if she responds. Just remember her large hulking husband.
Talk to you later. :)

boomama,
I have fixed the pudding that way, too. I have used graham crackers or crumbs, too, and both are good. There're not too many ways we won't eat banana pudding, including hot, with toasted meringue on top.

Glad to see you are doing better. :)
