Sunday Dinner, June 27, 2010

This is either a very late or very early edition of Sunday Dinner, depending on your location or your perspective. Since it's nearly 2 am my time on Sunday morning, it's also going to be pretty brief as I really would like to get at least a couple hours sleep.

Vacation Bible School 2010 is now in the history books and I have to say it's been a good one, but it's also kicked my trash this year. Emmy got to go every night, I'm happy to say, and she had a blast. I took her with me on the church van several nights, which involved hauling her car seat to and from the van along with all my assorted paraphernalia.

But I digress. Since I'm still recovering from VBS I refuse to cook Sunday Dinner this week. I don't know if we'll end up eating out somewhere or come back here to my place for a baloney sandwich and I really don't care, but I know I'm not cooking anything.

I didn't even cook our Saturday Supper this week. One of our good friends and neighbors had a family barbecue on Saturday and kindly shared their leftover grilled hot dogs and hamburgers with us, so that was our supper.

Now, if you'd like to share your Sunday Dinner plans, feel free to do so.

I mentioned last week that I had some pictures of Emmy as flower girl in a wedding, so here they are.

Click on any of them to enlarge:You'll notice the bright, cheery grin on the ring bearer's face. You'll also notice that Emmy's grin is rather forced. The newness of the pretty dress wore off pretty quickly when Emmy realized that she had to smile for several photos, and she finally went on strike and refused to pose for any more pictures.

Well, that's all for now. I need to get to bed, so I'll wish you all a blessed Lord's Day. May you have all you need, and may you have enough to share, dear family and friends.

Aw, wasn't she gorgeous?! Alex was flower girl for one of my sisters when she was Emmy's age, and she got fed up with the picture nonsense, too. There's only so many times you can ask a three-year-old to smile before their smile muscles seize right up. ;)

You definitely deserve a day free of cooking tomorrow, sweet friend. I used to be heavily involved in the VBS in my town when I was a teenager and it can be pretty tiring by the end of the week, even for a young leader. Ahem. :D Have a wonderful Sunday and week! xxoo

Emmy looks so cute!
I think you well deserve a day (or week) of no cooking, Diane. I announced to all in residence that lunch today would consist of strawberries and icecream. They did not argue. It is going to get really hot (for England, that is) - round 30C and very humid. Not to mention the pollen count being up there, so no doubt I will sneeze my way through the day and think of winter. Remind me of this in December please.
I hope you get to relax and rest!

I'm not cooking either. We have plans to meet up with an old friend and her hubs this evening. :o)

Emmy is just TOO cute! She must have been suffering in those fancy duds. I know I would have been. After all, there's only so many twirls a girl can do... No matter how pretty the dress is! LOL

Diane, hit the sheets when you get home from church and don't worry about dinner...Lamar can make a peanut butter sandwich and can watch some TV while you sleep... We are not getting any younger and you need to rest from a hard weeks work...

Miss Emily looks beautiful in that pretty dress and he hair is so cute... I never liked all the picture taking at weddings either..That little boy can sure put on a big smile, so cute..

Well, have a great week....
