Sunday Dinner, March 14, 2010

Howdy all. Hope this has been a better week for y'all than it has for me. Thanks for all the get well wishes here on the blog and on Facebook. I'm feeling better but still not quite up to snuff as Mama would say.

Most of my symptoms are gone but I still have some lingering body aches and I'm still really tired. My nausea is gone but my tummy is still feeling a little unsettled at times so our supper tonight was fried egg sandwiches, on wheat toast for me and bread for Lamar.

I haven't done much cooking since I started feeling better. I did make homemade enchiladas on Thursday night, which Lamar enjoyed much more than I did.

Friday night we had leftover beef stroganoff and noodles, leftover baby green lima beans, leftover okra and tomatoes, and leftover rice.

Anybody that's known me for any amount of time, either through my blog or in real life, knows how much I generally hate leftovers, so for me to pull out all leftovers for supper goes a long way in saying how punk I've been feeling.
So that should give you all a hint as to what I'm going say next.

I honestly don't feel like cooking Sunday Dinner this week, so I ain't. That simple.

I don't know what or where we'll end up eating Sunday Dinner this week. We may end up here eating a sandwich or we may end up at a restaurant. Hopefully I'll feel more like cooking next Sunday's Dinner.

What's for Sunday Dinner for you this week? Share your plans/menu in the comments if you'd like to participate this week.I think I'm going to make a pot of Earl Grey tea and settle in to read my Sunday School lesson and play some of my games on Facebook, then try to make it to bed at a reasonable hour.

Don't forget time changes tonight, so be sure to set your clocks FORWARD an hour. Anybody else resent losing that hour of sleep as much as I do?

Y'all have a great Lord's Day. May God meet all your needs and may you have enough to share is my prayer for each of you, dear family and friends.

So sorry that you've been under the weather for so long. :( Hopefully you'll pick right up again over the next few days.

Like you, I'm no fan of daylight savings time. Since the CFS, especially, I do much better on standard time. Everyone scoffs at that and says that it's all in my head, but it isn't. You wouldn't think that an hour would make a difference, but it really does. Maybe it's because you and I don't have "normal" sleep/wake patterns.

Have a lovely Sunday, dear friend, and like I said above, hope you're fighting fit again very, very soon! Lots of love to you and yours from all of us here. xxxooo

Aww, Diane, I know if you say you have been sick... you were REALLY sick.
Unlike you, I love leftovers, as long as they were good the first time.
Please get well.

I really hope you are on the mend now. It will take a while to get your strengh back and to get to feeling normal so just take you time and lots of rest!!

I'm not cooking tomorrow, I am spending yet another day picking up a winters worth of dog poop from our fenced in area. The fenced in part is about 5 acres so a lot of poop too from out four elephants!!!

A lot of it is still encased in ice and snow so I'll have to wait for the thaw!!

I didn't know you weren't feeling well, but glad you're on the mend. I don't blame you for not wanting to cook anymore than necessary.
We'll be heading over to my dad's for steak and baked potatoes and other fixins. My brother and his wife will be visiting from Phoenix so there will be about 20 people there to see them. At his request we'll also get some nibbles of dad's fried venison steak. YUM!

Have a blessed week!

So very sorry you are still not completely well. I was so sick with the flu that it took me days
before I felt like eating and even longer to get my strength back.

Take good care.

Hope you get shed of this rest of this crud soon and feel better! The lingering ones are the worst...

I woke up with vertigo and nausea this morning, so I'm housebound until that passes, which may be hours or days - never know with my vertigo. So my dinner will probably be either soup or a salad. Or a cup of tea! Depends on how I'm feeling at the moment!!

Have a blessed Sunday and a beautiful week!

I'm glad that you are on the mend or at least heading in that direction. We will be out of town on St. Patrick's Day and we both love the traditional corned beef & cabbage dinner, so Pat is fixing that today for our Sunday dinner. We are going to make a bit of an effort to somewhat reduce out eating out expenses although what with traveling & being in hotels this next week I know the total for the month will probably still be up there.

I'm with you on the DST issue - I wish we could just stay the same all year. Changing all these digital clocks and adjusting every six months - don't like it.

I hope you feel better this week - getting over this stomach junk took me a week.

We ended up at Wendy's with the girlies again today - not my idea, but it's the way it had to be.

We had two beautiful days, and now we've got yuckiness again today.

Hi Diane, my daughter celebrated her sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, so I had to do a Special Sunday Dinner menu for her with all her favorites including chocolate ice cream. lol

Glad to know you are getting past the worst of it and that you are on the mend.

Take care and enjoy your week ahead.

SOs orry you've been sick. My sister and some of her family had the flu also but are all better now. I am praying I don't get it!
I hope yu are completely over it by now.
My sunday dinner consisted of cole slaw and some kind of frozen store bought thing that I will never do again. YUCK!
Have a wonderful week Diane!

Diane: I am sorry you've been under the weather. But you have such a shining spirit of optimism and I know you'll be back to feeling 100 percent real soon. It's important for all of us to "lay low" for a day or so when we are worn down. Rest up and feel better, my friend! lol! :)

I'm so glad you're doing better, Diane! I just hate any kind of tummy sickness. Bleah. Hope you're 100% better by now.

I love hearing terms that I haven't heard for years when I come here. When you said "how punk I've been feeling" I just had to smile. I haven't heard that since I was a child and my friends Mom used that term. Love it!! Do you ever feel that way about things people you loved said? I guess I'm kind of sentimental that way. :)

I haven't been cooking much. It's been so busy here, I haven't felt up to it. Hopefully, I'll do a wonderful Sunday dinner this week.

God bless you, dear Diane!!

Love, Julie
