Update On Lamar & An Award To Pass On

I promised to update everyone on Lamar's eye as we learn anything, so here goes.

We finally got an appointment with an infectious disease specialist in Memphis and had to be there at 4 pm this afternoon. Jessica just happened to be off work so she can take her test for her state CNA license on Friday, so she was able to drive us to Memphis to see the doctor.

The doctor asked us 500 questions and took 6 big vials of blood to send off to a lab to be tested for umpteen different viruses and diseases. Some I had heard of before, and some were completely new to us. It will be at least a week before the results come back and we're hopeful that they'll be back in time for Lamar's appointment with Dr. Meyer, the retina specialist, on Friday, June 12th.

So that's where things stand for now. Once again, we wait. And if nothing shows up in the blood tests, we're back to square one.

I don't know which would be worse: getting a positive result for some rare, obscure virus or disease, or getting negative results and still not knowing what's going on. I guess it's a good thing it's in God's hands either way, hmmm?

Thanks once again for your prayers and concern for Lamar and for me. Love y'all! My sweet blog friend LISA@TALES OF A ROACH honored me with this award and I appreciate it so much.

I'm not going to pick and choose whom to give this award. If you read my blog, feel free to take this award and pass it on to others.

In my opinion (and in this instance, my opinion is the only one that matters!) all my blog readers are adorable. :o)

And now, I'm going to relax and play on Facebook and Farmtown for a while before bed. That trip to Memphis and back wore me out and as BOOMAMA and her dear Sister say, I'm plumb knocked.Lord willing I'll be back on Saturday evening for my Sunday Dinner post. And as of this moment, I have no idea what I'll be cooking because I have to do my grocery shopping on Friday morning.

Y'all have a wonderful evening and a splendiferous Friday.

Here's hoping that you finally get some answers. I'm sure the uncertainty is terrible.

Thanks for the update Diane. We'll continue praying that they can find this virus and treat it so that his vision will improve.
Waiting is such a hard thing. Praying for peace and grace for both of you.

Hi Diane,

I'm really glad to see an update from you, but I'm sure it's so frustrating to have to continue waiting. Lamar's health is in my prayers.

And can I just say, my friend, that I LOVE that you know when to use "who" and when to use "whom." It's wonderful! (To a grammar dork like myself, anyway!)

Take care, Diane. Thinking of you all!

I hope you will have answers as to what caused this. It must be so hard not knowing. I hope once they know, they will be able to do something to help his vision.
