Sunday Dinner, June 7, 2009

It's nearly 4 pm as I type this and Miss Emmy will be here around 6:30 pm to spend the night with Gramaw and Pawpaw. I'm doing laundry and helping Lamar clean the house before she gets here.

And blogging, obviously.

JESSICA and Jason are going to spend some quality time together without a 2 year old underfoot, not that time with Emmy isn't quality time, but every couple needs some time without the kids occasionally.

Besides, Gramaws and Papaws need their grandbaby fix now and then too.

Since I knew I'd have Emmy overnight I planned for a simple Sunday Dinner this week. I bought half a ham to slice and fry for sandwiches. That's the menu unless somebody else brings something to contribute.

I bought some fresh strawberries and cherries when I did my grocery shopping on Friday so we can graze on those for dessert if anybody is so inclined.

Now, what's in the works for your Sunday Dinner? Share your menu/plans in the comments if you'd like to participate this week.Lamar's eye is the same, no better, no worse. We don't expect to hear anything before next Friday when he goes back to see the retina specialist from Memphis, at Jonesboro.

Dr. Meyer sees patients at our local eye clinic in Jonesboro each Friday, and we're fortunate that we can see him in Jonesboro, only 5 miles away, instead of having to drive to Memphis each time, about 180 miles round trip.I still have to finish my laundry and cook supper before Emmy gets here so I'm going to leave you with a picture taken at a local park a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful Spring day and we all had a great time, especially Emmy as we pushed her on the swings.Y'all have a blessed Sunday. May God meet all your needs, and may you have enough to share is my prayer for each of you.

glad you get some snuggle time! enjoy it friend, it'll be a nice distraction from all this mess.

I was just thinking about you....are you having to pay for transportation to all these far away doctors my dear?

I just have the twins tonight - the big girls got to go home with Mommy for the night. We didn't want to have her plunge in to everything at once. They're such good sleepers, though. Have fun!

I think we'll just have spaghetti and French bread tomorrow - I haven't been to the store yet, and it's 8:00 p.m.!

Have a great night and don't spoil that granbaby to much...

I started coca-cola chicken today, but plans were changed so I will finish that up tomorrow and that will be our main dish.

Have a great Sunday.

Love that pic of Emmy!!! Such a happy child!!! Especially love the little bare feet!!! You can tell she is loved by that big, happy smile of hers!!! She is growing up all too fast, though! Looks like a beautiful park you have there, too!

Fried ham sandwiches sound good to me!!! I am fixing a beef roast with mashed potatoes and gravy, a veggie, applesauce, and tossed salad. Devils food cake with cream cheese icing and ice cream will be the dessert. Guess you know that me cooking means that my daughter and ex are coming for dinner! Normally, I don't cook like that just for myself. LOL

Have a great weekend and get some sleep...no more farming for me tonight! LOL

I've got it easy today. Dom is scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow, so dinner will be chicken broth and jello for him, with a chaser of HalfLytley! I think I'll probably do a Slim Fast day since I don't want to tempt Dom with seeing real food.

Emmy is getting so big! She's adorable.

I'm way over-due for my grand baby fix! I just have to make it until October.

I'm releived to hear that your travel time for Lamar's eye appointments will be much shorter. That should minimize some of the stress-factor. I know that finding a solution would be better. I'm still praying for you all.

We are having left-overs tonight. I made two 9X13 pans full of baked macaroni-n-cheese with ham chunks, and green beans on the side. I the we'll be having a second look at that! I don't think there'll be any complaints about that one.

That way, I can work freely in my garden. It's supposed to be a beautiful day, and I could really do with some outdoor therapy.

Have a great Sunday and take care.

Love, Vikki.

I thought of your Miss Emmy when I took that photo of the Dad and his baby daughter at that Lake Chelan winery that I posted last. Kids are sure a great subject for photos.

Our lunch will be very light as we are going to Pat's grand daughter's high school graduation party at her parents house this afternoon. I'll bet that there will be plenty to eat there and we may even go out for dinner after the party. If we still have any room to eat more!

You can tell by that picture, that Miss Emily likes to swing...What a cutie!

You ham sandwiches sound good, still not sure what I am doing for dinner, something simple.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Lamar..You too. Have a great week.

I have a pork tenderloin in the over, roasting away. I'm adding the labor intensive instant mashed potatoes and frozen Brussels sprouts and calling it dinner.

I wondered how far it was to Memphis from where you are. I'm glad you won't have to keep making that trip. Lamar's eye has become quite the mystery - I'm anxious to find out what on earth is going on. I'm glad to hear it's not getting worse, but I'll be even happier to hear that it's getting better, as I'm sure you all will too.

She's getting so big. It seems like she was born just a few weeks ago. Same thing with Avery of course. Time is just going by way too fast, isn't it?

I hope you have a nice new week coming up, and that your weather is not too scary. Boy, it's scary in the Denver area. I'm sure Mandy is hiding out in the bathtub, poor thing.

Have a great new week my friend.

xoxo

Emmy is having a fun time on the swing!! She is growing so fast!

I had a BackYard Burger for my dinner today. They have good burgers, so if I'm up in that direction I'll try to get one. They are on the north end of town and we are on the south end. I went to K-mart which is pretty close to them.

Still keeping you and Lamar in my prayers and thoughts.

Hugs!!

Hey, Diane! sorry I haven't commented lately, but I did want you to know that I've been thinking about you and Lamar and praying for you, too. I've been so busy with the boys getting out of school, I've started school, and just the usual baseball, camps, etc. going on!

I hope you all are doing okay and can keep up the faith, there are a lot of people praying for you. take care, my friend, and keep us updated.
Hugs,
Kelli

Diane,

Great idea to have sandwiches and fruit for Sunday dinner with Miss Emmy staying over. I hope Jason and Jessica enjoy their quiet time together.

Thanks for the idea of the ground cover near where we placed the stepping stones. I think I'd like that more than grass and I know exactly what I'm going to put there. Appreciate your suggestion.

Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Mary

Hello dear Diane:-)

Jess & Jason are so lucky to have you near, no doubt they truly appreciate you watching Emmy to give them a bit of a break!! I remember well how active a young child can be! lol

Fried ham sandwiches and fresh fruit sound pretty good to me! I grilled some homemade hamburgers on the bbq for Sunday dinner, as well as onion rings and coleslaw.

Love that picture of Emmy on the swing, she's so precious! Really makes me wish I lived nearer Lily, I'm missing so much of her life already. I asked Shawn if they had any plans on coming here this summer but he said he wasn't sure since they're so busy so I guess I'll have to make the trip there if I want to see her. Problem is, they've just moved in with friends while they're new house is being readied so I won't be able to stay with them. Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure something out! lol xoxo

I got my grandma fix over the week end at a birthday party. The older kids were in the pool most of the time but I got to have some quality time with the little one's four and under. What fun they are.
Emmy is so cute on the swing. That is a wonderful picture. She looks just delighted.
I'm so sorry there is nothing new and positive about Lamar's eye yet. We continue to pray.
I hope you are having a great week Diane.
Hugs!

Diane: Lamar has been in my active prayers since I learned of his eye trouble and I wish him a total healing and return to a normal routine. I loved the cherries and fruit mention here! Tuna sandwiches with low fat Mayo on this end. Nothing fancy when you're single. Lots of Propel water and breakfast is my favorite. lol to you and Lamar ! Blessings are on the way! :D)

Jason and Jess are sure lucky to have your help. Love the photo of Miss Emmy. She is adorable.

Never be sorry for giving me flower advice. Hubby planted ground cover today in that spot beside the stepping stones. Once it gets going, it will look great.

You're right. It is spiderwort and the ground cover is crane's bill geranium. Thanks so much for the help. It's much appreciated.

Blessings,
Mary
