Since this is Easter weekend, I ain't cookin' no Sunday Dinner this week.
Well, that and my nephew and his wife just invited us to Easter lunch at their house. I hear there's home cooked rotisserie chicken on the menu, and I think I'm going to make this ZESTY LEMON POUND CAKE to take for dessert. I found the recipe the other day and it sounds and looks yummy in the picture on the web site and I just happen to have everything on hand to make it tonight.
I also have some bananas that are just right for making banana bread so I thought about making SOME HOMEMADE BANANA BREAD while I'm at it since I'll be making a mess anyway. I'm not sure I've got enough eggs and buttermilk to make both recipes so I'll have to see about that after I get this post published.
So that's all the news that is the news regarding my Sunday Dinner this week, or lack thereof. If, however, you're actually cooking Sunday Dinner this week or you'd like to share your menu/plans, feel free to do so in the comments. My DAUGHTER JESSICA, granddaughter Emmy and my sisters Cecil, Sue and I all went to McAllister's Deli in Jonesboro, Arkansas this past Monday for lunch and had us a high old time. The food was okay but the company was even better.
Do you think she liked it? ;o)Jessica got a pepperoncini pepper with her
salad and I gave it to Emmy to see how she'd
react to the taste. I tasted it first to make
sure it wasn't hot.
Emmy decided it was kind of "Eh...."
But the hug was good!Look at those eyelashes!I snapped this one of me and Jessica.
One of my better efforts at
looking directly at the camera.
You wouldn't believe how many pictures
I took just to get a few with Emmy
focused on the camera lens.Cecil and Emmy. I believe Emmy
was traveling incognito that day. Shh.....And a few that Jessica snapped of me
and Emmy having a good time together.
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter.

Love ya sister, donna
Such sweet pictures! It sounds like you are going to have a busy and fun Easter day. My husband works, my daughter works, and my son inlaw works so it wont seem like Easter.

It's been a super busy day and I'm tard! I haven't finished getting reqady yet for tomorrow. The big girls are here and they've been "helping" me get the table set. We'll have 11 for dinner - DC is grilling pork tenderloin. I'm fixing fresh green beans with almonds. Everybody else is bringing everything else. But it's still alot of work.
We had a big Jerusalem type marketplace in our church parking lot today - it was cold - AGAIN. It is every Easter Saturday, it seems. But the turnout was tremendous. The neighborhood comes out in droves for these things we do, and we usually get some new folks to church afterward. That's what it's all about.
It's my week to play the organ, we sing two choir songs. Then in the evening we're having baptismal service. So it'll be a big day.
Have a blessed resurrection celebrration!
Loved the pictures of Emmy! She is beautiful! Great picture of you & Jess!
I baked a ham today. I will fix macaroni and cheese in the morning before church. We are going to eat lunch at my sister house.
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter my dear friend
dont Cecil and Jess look similar!!!!
D3 LOVES pizza :)
enjoy the weekend
HUGS Jen
Do you always have white chocolate on hand?.. I have everything for the cake except the white chocolate. Our next door neighbor died today and put a damper on the whole day...I feel so bad for his family...I will be making a chocolate bunt cake tonight and a lazagna to take over there tomorrow...I have a ham for our Easter dinner, but I am out of the mood to cook it.. Bonnie is up in College Station and not feeling well and Jennifer, Justin and the kids went to Austin for the weekend to visit some of Justin's family....Only William coming for dinner. I may save the ham for next weekend when we celebrate Bonnie's birthday.
Tell Jessica that I love that haircut...It is so flattering on her. Miss Emily is adorable as usual...Enjoy you Easter Diane...
Sounds like you'll have a fun time. I love Rotisserie chicken.
I just finished putting a roast in the crockpot. My husband needs to make me a cup of coffee to put in it. I don't like coffee AT ALL but putting a cup in with the other spices makes for a nice gravy after the roast has cooked in it. Can barely taste a hint of coffee. We'll have it with mashed potatoes and carrots. Dessert will be pineapple dump cake. Not at all the healthiest dessert, but since we only have it occasionally then I think we're safe to indulge!
We'll be going to church with Chelsie. She and 3 other girls are doing a 'worship' dance performance. She's never done that before and is extremely nervous. We're excited to watch her tho'.
Then she'll come over to share dinner with her good ol' mom, dad and sis.
I see you didn't mention your router/comp. problems. Did you get that fixed all right?
Happy Easter!
Diane,
I'm glad you were invited to lunch and don't have to cook. We aren't doing anything special. Our Easter dinner at Mom's will be on Monday because everyone had other family to go to on Friday and Sunday. That is okay and I can hardly wait. There's nothing like your mother's cooking.
Lovely photos of family fun. These will be treasured in years to come.
Happy Easter, my friend. Enjoy your day.
Blessings,
Mary
Cute pictures - I liked the one with the big sunglasses and of course the last once with grandma :-)
We're off to the forest to hunt the easter bunny's eggs and we'll grill sausages on the bonfire.

Great pics of your family enjoying some yummy food time together.
your Easter Dinner will be scrumptious I'm sure. I'm not really into cooking large holiday meals anymore so we pretty much fend for ourselves around here or make something simple. I know, I'm a party pooper. Oh well.
Cecil and Jessica certainly look alike!! Emmy is having a big time and it looks like everyone is!
I hope you are having a wonderful Easter. Looks like you all might be having a rainy Easter? It's real pretty here today.
Happy Easter my friend!!! Hugs!
Happy Easter Diane, hope you enjoy your brunch. Looks like you have rain too. Seems it is always overcast on Easter here.
It looks like a rip-roaring good time at the deli! The pictures are great.
Sounds like dinner at your nephews will be fun, too. I miss family get-togethers so much.
Have a beautiful Easter Sunday!
Love, Vikki

Diane ~ I hope you and yours had a most blessed Easter!
Loved the Emmy pics...she is just too cute for words - and boy does she love her Grandma!
Great pictures of the baby, Diane. I guess she's not really a baby any more but it seems like she should be. :-)
Rob and I had a very quiet Easter - Mandy went home the day before and Krissy and her family spent the day with his family, so we just kicked back, had a very simple dinner (marinated flank steak) and watched TV.
It was actually very nice. Sounds like yours probably was too.
Happy new week! xoxoxo
Your plan for Easter dinner sounds like mine was. Make a few dishes and go to family's house. I took Calico beans and a recipe I made up for pie that was a big hit. Blackberry, raspberry and rhubarb.
Your photos of Emmy are so cute. I'm sure she enjoyed her Easter as much as our little Victoria did.
Hope you had a wonderful Resurrection day.
Hugs!
Hope your easter was wonderful and filled with blessings. We will be in your neck of the woods next month. Our grandson will be graduating from Vilonia HS the 6th and we will be getting into Conway the 15th.
Hey mom..great pics... hope Easter pics turn out good too.
Love you and had a good time today.
Jessica
PS As i type this, Jezebel is laying all over the laptop and loving all over me. Weird,...huh?
Good morning, dear Diane, and a Happy belated Easter:-)
I did so much cooking this past weekend, I hope that next year I'm invited somewhere so that I don't have to cook! lol
I so loved seeing all these pictures of Emmy, what a little darling she is!! I love it that you're so close to your family and can get together often like this. I really miss being able to do that with my family.
I've noticed that Emmy is putting on some weight now so she's obviously eating better? Lily still isn't 10 pounds at 5 months old (she was 7lbs 2oz at birth) but the doctor doesn't seem concerned. I still say Wendy should start supplementing with formula and pablum but she won't listen to anyone but her doctor who says no solids or formula until she's at least 6 months old. Sigh. She still fits into newborn clothes!!! I know, I'm being a typical Nana and worrying! lol
Lots of love and hugs sent to you across the miles. xoxo
We had a lovely dinner over at my son and daughter-in-law's house. we had ham and potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, and baby spinach and strawberry salad. My little great grand daughter helped make a lemon sourcream pie and a chocolate pie and a spice ginger cake. Yum Yum! Of corse I ate to much.
Happy Belated Easter, Diane!
Hey Sister!!!I am back for more sugar !LOL I just cant get enough :-)
love looking at all the pics again ,
BSH and sugar by the country load for Little E :-)
love you
HUGS
