***CLICK ON ANY OF THE PICS TO ENLARGE***
As my husband just pointed out and I'm
well aware, the camping trip was this past
weekend and it's now Thursday.
Yes, I'm well aware of that, but I just
posted the hayride pics on Monday,
and Emmy's update on Wednesday,
so here we are.
My sister DONNA invited me to go
camping with her and her grandson
Jon and 3 other 12-13 year-old boys
at nearby LAKE POINSETT STATE PARK.
Not even the threat of a hormone storm
of adolescent boys can deter me from
camping, so of course I accepted her
invitation.
I don't have permission from the boys'
parents to post their photos, so I won't
share any of those pics, though I
did take several pics of them.
This will be mostly just various pictures
from our weekend. I'll narrate if I
think it's necessary.I love the contrast between this
blue, BLUE sky and the golds
of the changing leaves. The boys played at fishing for a few hours
on Sunday morning, but they were more
concerned about playing in the mud and
water than actually putting a baited hook
in the water and catching a fish.
Donna and I fished for about 45 minutes on
Sunday afternoon and we each caught
a small perch, or red bellied sunfish.
The view more than made up for the lack
of whoppers and the fact that I didn't
catch Moby Dick. These last few photos were taken as
Donna was driving me home
from her place.I don't like the fact that this one is
crooked, but given the fact that I had
the camera sitting in the roof of the
car and we were moving at a good
clip, it's better than I'd hoped.
At least you can see the Fall colors.
I hope you enjoyed the photos.
I've got to scoot now. My sweet hubby
has made arrangements with a friend to
take me out for supper as a surprise
late anniversary gift. I've got about
30 minutes to get ready.
Y'all have a great Thursday evening and
rest of your week!

Sounds like you had a really nice time, Diane. What a beautiful landscape. I may have been deterred by 3 teenage boys, but I think you're all-around braver than I am. :-)
Hope you have a nice anniversary dinner out. What a sweet surprise!
Hugs,
Sammy
Hello Diane,
Thank you for stopping by my blog and sharing your experience with cancer with me.
The fall colors are beautiful. I have seen them so many times from so many sources, but never get to see them personally to experience its beauty.
We have been to the US several times, but never gotten to be there in autumn, unfortunately... maybe some day.
The photos are beautiful and will never do justice as compared to actually being there.
One picture actually has a tree with pinkish leaves amongst the many colors... awesome sight, almost like a fairy tale in a cartoon scene.
Truly breathtaking.
Arkansas is indeed beautiful in the autumn - it's my goal to get down there at this time of year one of these soon years.
Sounds like a great time with your sister - and those rascally early teen boys!
Beautiful, beautiful fall pics! Our leaves are in a big pile in the yard now. And boy is it getting cold here.
Glad you had such a nice weekend and such a pretty setting to have it in.
God bless, Diane.
Brenda :)
It's easy to see why you love to go camping, Diane. Beautiful!
I cannot believe you put your new camera on the roof of the car as it was going down the highway. LOL
Lovely! Of course, I spent last weekend in Arkansas, so I know what it looks like live and in person.

First of all let me say how glad I am to hear the good news about Miss Emmy!
The pictures are lovely. It looks about the same, tree color I mean, here. You are brave to sit your camera on top of the car and it moving! I'd be afraid I'd let go and it'd be gone with the wind! Sounds like a fun trip. Hope your anniversary dinner was great!!

the good news is that Moby Dick is still out there...getting bigger...so you can invite me over to a good ol fish fry when you catch him next time!
Diane;
What a beautiful counrtyside! The fall colors are spectacular.
I also love the contrast of the trees and sky.
I haven't been camping since we first moved to Alaska. I think that this spring we will have to remedy that situation!
Have a great Friday.
Beautiful pictures.
You've had a busy week blogging!
Your camping trip sounds more refreshing than our camping in July in 100 degree weather.

All I can say is....
wow
WoW
WOW!!!
Beautiful pictures! It sounds like you had a good camping trip.
Teenage boys aren't so bad. As the mom of 2 of them, I'd take them over teenage girls anyday! ;o)
Hope you had a nice supper out with friends. What a nice surprise!
Have a good weekend!
Your fall foliage pictures are so pretty. We've had a lot of gold and yellow in our area this year, too, and it's been really beautiful.
Diane, these pictures are beautiful with such bright colors of God's creation. This time of year is becoming my favorite.
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful dinner with your husband. What did you have? Details, please! :)
Many sweet blessings!
Hope your anniversary dinner was nice!
Beautiful pics, Diane. I grew up going to Lake Poinsett. Never camped there, but did lots of fishing. The fall colors are so beautiful in these pics. I'm glad you could get away.
AWEsOME photos. Beautiful colors. I just love fall colors. Thanks for sharing.
Diane, I just love the fall colors. We don't get much of that here in Houston but I did see a few trees with yellow leaves the other day..lol. Ever since the hurricane the trees have looked a bit weird without many of their leaves.....I'm glad that you had good time camping.
Hi Diane,
I'm glad you enjoyed your camping trip. Beautiful state park.
I'm behind in posting pictures also. I can't seem to be able to stay home long enough to get things done.
I did post for today, a picture of our new great grandson.
Diane,
Your photos are beautiful. I love the colors of autumn. They are so rich and bring much beauty to the earth.
Enjoy your anniversary dinner, my friend.
Blessings,
Mary
I hope you had a wonderful time eating out Diane!
The pictures are spectacular. Thanks so much for sharing your trip. I do miss all those fall colors.
It's nice to know Moby Dick can rest easy for a while longer :-)
You know I love to be out in the nature and I'm glad you've chance to do the same. I also love the significant four seasons you know and the picss (very beautiful - thanks for sharing!) really shows the golden beauty of fall.
Looks very much like we had in Oslo, Norway some weeks ago. Now we've had the first snow fall.
Wishing you the greatest end to your week!
Love and hugs :-)
Awesome tree pictures! What fall colors. I wish we had hardwood forests around here. Lots of pine, and except for the Tamaracks, they all stay green.
Hello Sister friend ,

love and miss you
