Just A Few Things...

...I want to share with you today.

1.) BIGDADGIB is introducing CHRISTIAN BLOGGERS ONLINE, a new blogroll of Christian bloggers, strangely enough, and if you're a Christian blogger you're cordially invited to join. Read through THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS and if you decide that you'd like to join, SUBMIT YOUR INFORMATION HERE.

If you're one of the first 20 members you'll be a charter member. This is a brand new blogroll and GIB is expecting great things to happen with it. There will be monthly giveaways and contests on the site and best of all, it will be a great place to find Christian bloggers with family friendly content.

Click on the button or any of the bold links to check out the new CHRISTIAN BLOGGERS ONLINE BLOGROLL.2.) While visiting PEA@PEA'S CORNER yesterday I took note of the MOSAIC MEME that she did and thought it was neat, so I decided to do this one myself.

To do this one yourself, all do is:

. Type your answers to the following questions below into Flickr Search

. Using only the first page, pick an image

. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images in this Mosaic Maker.

. Follow the instructions, and presto you have a synopsis of who you are!

. Click on the mosaic to see the snaps Up Close & Personal

. Leave me a comment if you participate so I can come see your mosaic!

1. What is your first name? Diane
2. What is your favorite food? Southern Fried Catfish
3. What high school did you go to? Trumann High School
4. What is your favorite color? Cobalt Blue
5. Who is your celebrity crush? John Wayne
6. Favorite drink? Coke Zero
7. Dream vacation? Newfoundland, Canada
8. Favorite dessert? Cheesecake
9. What do you want to be when you grow up? Happy
10. What do you love most in life? My Family & Friends
11. One word to describe you? Homebody
12. Your blog name? Diane's PlaceLooking across the first row of pictures, 1, 2, 3, then down to the second row, 4, 5, 6, and so on, the pictures correspond to my answers from the Flickr search.3.) I have a notifier from Bloglines in my task bar that's supposed to, um, notify me when I have new posts up in my Bloglines. For about a month now the dratted thing has been going ape on me. Even when I have my Bloglines open and know that I have a number of new posts up, the notifier smugly sits there with a blank look on it's face when it should have a big red asterisk displayed to let me know the new posts are there.

Also, several times in the last couple of months Bloglines has calmly informed me that I have something on the order of 3, 285 new posts to read, thereby nearly causing me to choke on my hot coffee and spew it across my keyboard.

Now I know some of you are much more prolific with your posts than I have been lately, but good gravy, Mabel, what's up with that, oh dear people who run Bloglines??

And while we're on the subject, at the same time it's showing umpteen new posts for some bloggers, it's not showing new posts at all for some of you. Instead it has an alarming giant red ! out beside the blog title.

For instance, right now BEV'S feed is not updating at all on Bloglines for me. Poor me, I'm having to check her blog the old fashioned way: by clicking over there a couple of times a day to see if she's put up a new post.

Amazingly, BEV has a post up about this right now! You can find HER POST HERE.

Now all these things have happened many times in the past and usually after a week or so everything seems to right itself, but this has been going on for over a month now.

And before anyone mentions it, I know that it's FREE and believe me, I do appreciate that, but still, it would be nice if the free service actually worked most of the time.

I've tried Google Reader and have an account there (that shows 663 unread posts: I just checked) but I like Bloglines better when it works as promised.

Bottom line I guess is this:

Oh, sweet
Bloglines, I do love you, but I dearly wish you'd get on the stick and exterminate the bugs, already! If you don't show me some love and start speaking my love language of catering to ME, our romance may be over. And while Google Reader is second fiddle right now, I'm leaving my options open. Google Reader may be moving up in the band. Bloglines, show me the goods or I may be showing you the door, and Google Reader is waiting in the wings.

Signed,

A (So Far) Unrequited Lover
And now that I've ranted all over the place, I'll wish y'all a happy Thursday.

Dear Diane,
Thank you so much! Arbor Hospice has honored their promise and they have given my Mother a room! She will be moving in on Friday. We are so thankful and appreciate this wonderful community of women. Thank you for reaching out to help a lady you have never even met. My Mother would tell you "you have put stars in your crown". Hugs and love, Cookie

Hi there,

Loved finding out all the info about you. Very cool that you want to visit Newfoundland as I am Canadian - you would love it there. Very beautiful and rugged. How is your AC since the lightning strike - is it repaired. Hope you are not roasting. Have a good day and thanks for the tip on pie crusts.

Here goes my fifth attempt to leave a comment. Feel free to delete like crazy if Blogger decides to suddenly print all of them. LOL

Your dream vacation was a surprise. Who knew?

Bloglines has been pretty naughty lately and you're right - it's been going on long enough, you'd think maybe they'd do a little repair work.

I no longer even get the little red exclamation point next to my sister Bev's feed. But she's posting away.

I tell you, you really do get what you pay for, huh?

I was wondering about your a/c too. I hope your landlord either repaired or replaced it. I can't imagine living where you do without a/c!

The staff at the CBO (lol) thanks you for the plug. I trust God will work through our new service.

I found trouble with Mountian Mama's feed too. RSS feeds are a must now days.

Thanks again, Gib

I already joined CBO too.
Your meme answers are interesting. I didn't imagine you as a homebody at all. That surprises me. Your blog makes you seem more like a social butterfly!
Blessings

Hi Diane,
Thanks for the "heads up" on CBO. I will go check it out.
You are not alone in your "bloglines woes". I even have occassional times when my feeds won't show up at all! I'm not sure what we can do about it. Just press on I guess :-)
Thanks for the laughs. I love them!

I've never used Bloglines - I just visit around till I find something new. I think I'm glad!

DC told me that the butterfly is a swallowtail - I guess I should have mentioned that he took those pictures of his own hand and the neighbor girl's. The butterfly must have been pretty old, because it wasn't flitting away, and seemed to enjoy being on people's hands.

Hi Diane,

Like Dawn, I also just visit around until I find something new. I had no idea this was the old fashioned way of doing it! :-) But from the sound of it, I probably shouldn't get involved with Bloglines, should I?

Your mosaic is lovely. I'll have to try that one. And your dream vacation was a surprise. I've never been there myself, but I've heard it's lovely. Perhaps you could take the train there someday.

I certainly hope your ac is working again! Nobody should be without ac in this weather. I'm hot even with it on! (I think it's those pesky hormones!)

Have a great weekend, my friend.

Love,
Sammy

I use Blogrolling and have it set to let me know when a new post is up on one of those I monitor. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But if it says there is a new post there always seems to be one.

Hey Sweety.... Just so you know, you were one of the first people that came to mind for the award. I love coming to visit you and even check to see if you have a new post even when blogger has sworn that you don't.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Diane, thanks for the tip on the mosaic. I did what you said and it worked! That was fun!
About the Mexican Food search, that one came up out of 33,000! Too funny.
Have a great weekend.

Thanks for sharing about Christian Bloggers Online. As you know, I joined!

We have brown recluse spiders here, too, but thank goodness, I've never been bit. I had a friend who was, though, and it was a horrible thing! I hope I never encounter one myself! I'm so sorry you got bit - it just looks so painful!

I'm anxious to see what you're going to cook for Sunday dinner. My mouth waters every time I read your post about it! LOL I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I should start thinkin' about it!

Take care and have a great weekend!

God bless you ~ Julie

I just check mine the old fashioned way, going down my list til I get to the bottom and then I go to the top and start all over again! LOL

I would love to do those meme's but never enough time in a day for me these days! But I enjoy reading everyone else's and learning new things about my new blog friends!

I'm registrered at BlogLines too, but haven't figure out how it works. Thanks for the tips.

I use Google Reader though as I find RSS feeds more effective.

Wishing you a great end to your week :-)
