Sunday Dinner, May 11, 2008

Well, friends, it's already been an active evening weather wise, so I'll get my Sunday Dinner posted and I'll try to share pictures from Emmy's birthday party on Sunday night or Monday. I'm not sure how much longer our electricity will be on so I'm trying to hurry and get this posted.

Our power has already been off once and there are tornado warnings all around us. Our tornado sirens sounded for nearly an hour earlier this afternoon. Lamar and I actually got in the bathroom and shut the door earlier when I saw a debris cloud on the ground coming toward us. There are shredded leaves and other debris all over our parking lot, but thankfully the funnel cloud lifted back up and that's the worst of the damage in my neighborhood. Although other people in our town are without power due to trees and power lines being blown down we were blessed, thank you, God!

We're supposed to have tornadic storms all night long, and it's thundering again so I'll try to get this posted as quickly as I can.

Actually, Jessica, Jason and Emmy are taking me out to eat for Mother's Day, so I won't be cooking Sunday Dinner this week.

If you're cooking, or if your hubby and/or children are treating you to lunch, share your plans in the comments if you'd like to participate this week.My Mama has been gone for over 3 years now, but I love her and miss her so. Happy Mother's Day, Mama. I love you.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Mother's Day!

I'll be back soon to post pics from Emmy's 1st birthday bash.

Kristen and I will be going out together, with the twins. It should be nice to have a little time, just us girls.

Sorry about the tornado junk going on! You've had quite a weather year, haven't you? I hope it doesn't do any big damage anywhere.

Diane, your weather sounds really scary. I just woke up to thunder, lightening and rain but it only lasted for a few minutes. Stay safe.

TF and I are going over to our daughters for mothers day. I plan on cooking breakfast but it will be nice to have someone else cook dinner.

Thanks for the email, it is so true. Being a mother teaches us a lot about love and sacrificing. I am grateful that I am a mother.

My own mom has been dead now, for 24 years. She died when she was only 57 years old. I wish she could have seen her grandkids grow up. Both of TF's parents are still alive and I am grateful for that.

Have a nice relaxed Mothers Day.

Happy Mother's Day Dianne. I just know you will have a wonderful day with your family all gathered around. Big huge Hugs coming your way.

Did I mention before that we have a grandson that lives in Cabot with his dad?

Hope you're still okay. I now have the news on.

Happy Mother's Day once again.

Hope your safe, despite the tornado - sounds scary to a Norwegian you know!

Good to know you'll have a nice Sunday dinner - my Diane is about to grill pork shops (smells lovely in the house!)

Happy Mother's Day dear blog friend!

I'm making tater soup; Cliff's brother is here from Kansas and our daughter and her family will probably eat with us. All Cliff's siblings love potato soup, and it's easy to fix and doesn't dirty up a bunch of dishes.

Happy Mother's Day, Diane. Hope it's a blessed one!

Forgot to mention - our Sunday dinner will be another bbq - usual stuff plus a birthday cake and ice cream for my friend's daughter.

I did make some deviled eggs this time around.

It's hot here; there will be only 8 of us at most so we may cook outside and eat inside. Or at least Ray will - the heat gets to him quickly.

Happy Mother's Day to you too, dear Diane:-) I'm glad that you're being brought out for dinner...you deserve to get spoiled for a change!! Can't wait to see Emmy's birthday pictures...still can't believe she's a year old already!! Oh dear, I do hope your weather settles down soon, I heard another tornado has touched down in the mid west! Please stay safe! xoxo

I hope you have remained safe from all the storms Diane. It's been raining here most of the day, windy, and cooler.

I hope you are having a wonderful Mother's day!!!

Your weather is just downright frightening, Diane. I don't know how you manage to sound so calm about it all. I'd be a wreck. Tornados scare the living daylights out of me.

How nice you're going out for Mother's Day dinner. We're staying in and having, of all things, Mexican food. And we'll round the day out with the three hour Survivor finale tonight.

Actually, it's the perfect kind of Mother's Day, for me. I hope yours is wonderful.

I was taken out to dinner today at a gourmet pizza place we just love. Yummy!

We actually had tornado sirens go off this afternoon. I don't know why as it was the next county over but once they've been activated they don't stop for 12 minutes...argg...I said if they do that every time a cloud rolls our way we'll never know when to run!!

Lunch today was Olive Garden...YUMMO!!

Happy Mother's Day to you sweet Diane!♥

I'm back on Sunday evening to say I hope all is well with you.
We had tornadoes here today, one actually touching down inside the city limits but no one got hurt. So we spent an hour or so in the basement today. Got some tidying up done while I was down there. It needs it!
We had company for Mother's Day -just for dessert. All the grandparents and two of my daughters and their husbands. We had fun. Tea and coffee and cake, fruit pastry puffs, and Oreo Pie.
Tomorrow we(5 of us) begin a 6-day fat-burning program. So we all splurged today!

I am very happy that we don't have tornadoes to worry about out here. I saw on the news on TV that you were having them in your area and worried about your safety.

We went out for a nice brunch that was at lunch time. Pat & one of her daughters had breakfast together & we went to the other daughter's home in the later afternoon for food. We ate well.

Hi Diane,
I hope your Mother's Day was extra special. I just saw some pictures of the tornado's aftermath - just devestating. I'm so thankful all of you have been safe.
I'm looking forward to birthday pictures.
Take care Diane. We'll be praying for you.

I talked to my mom yesterday and she told me about the severe weather you guys had on Saturday. I'm so glad you were safe!

Hope you had a nice Mother's Day. So, did Jessica take you to eat catfish? That sounds so yummy to me right now!
