Sunday Dinner, December 23, 2007

Diane's Sunday Dinner is on hiatus again this week. I cooked and baked all day Saturday in preparation for Cecil's Christmas party and I'm all cooked out. I have no idea where I'll end up for Sunday Dinner, but as long as I don't have to cook it or clean up after it, wherever we eat will be fine with me.

Now, what are your plans/menu for your Sunday Dinner? Just share your plans in the comments if you want to participate this week.

I want to take this opportunity to wish all my readers a blessed and joyous CHRISTmas, filled with love, laughter, faith, good food, good friends and beloved family.

Merry Christmas from us'uns to you'uns.

Good Evening Diane,
I do hope the party at Cecil's turned out good. I'm sure it was. Did you eat any for me huh huh huh? LOL. Got any leftovers? LOL. I don't know what our Sunday Dinner plans are. I'm not fixing much because I'm going to start working on my dressing for our Christmas Eve Dinner here at home. I have some frozen Burrito's and Frozen Tacito's that I can heat up. I have some bologna and hot dogs in the freezer too. Who knows what we will have. I'm going to get my dressing worked up so that way I can just put it in the oven on Monday and cook it. I'm making potato salad on Monday as well. I'm having a platter of baby dill pickles, coctail sausages, shrimp, olives, and a cheeseball in the middle. My Mom is making the cheeseball for me. She always makes 2 homemade ones each Christmas. She is also bringing the ham and some desserts. I don't know what my Sister is bringing. I bought some Christmas Paper Plates at Wal-Mart last night for us to use. I may make some sausage balls if I have time. I have laundry to do as well. Oh well, a Woman's work is never done they say. LOL. Well, take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours. "MERRY CHRISTMAS" to you and yours from our Family as well. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!!

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
I have a couple of things I got in the email this week. I think I will put one up as a post on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It sure turned colder didn't it? LOL. I know you love this kind of weather. I still don't think we will have any snow at all this coming week. Too warm. That's my forecast. LOL.

I haven't even thought about it, I've been making so much stuff for tomorrow.

I think a big pot of blackeyed peas might be on the menu today.

Merry Christmas to you and Lamar and your kids, Diane. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

I didn't have a plan but I made some homemade Vegetable Beef soup yesterday and I had some again today. It just the perfect thing for these cold, rainy, dreary days we are having.
It tasted good too!
I have to admit that I also ate some Christmas goodies. I can't seem to keep my hands out of them. I made Chocolate Sctocharoos and rice Krispie treats with chopped up spice gumdrops. They are really yummy especially made with 'real' butter.
I also made some Russian Teacakes, you know those little cookies rolled in powdered sugar that have a dozen names!

Tomorrow I will bake an Apple pie and make a big pot of Chicken soup, as well as roast a Turkey breast for sandwiches.

That ought to take care of the food situation around here for a while.

Take care Diane and enjoy CChristmas with youe new little granddaughter,
Love & hugs and a Merry Christmas HO-Ho-HO!

Sunday dinner is now after the fact but it was very good. We had steak, baked potato and green salad. There was so much steak and potato that we kept part of it and added it to the casadeas we had this morning for breakfast!

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I'll bet it will be a joyous one, with Emily to enjoy it with!

Afternoon, Diane: I'll probably do the Denny's route for breakfast to be among others. I really am too new to the Arizona town I live in to know anyone after only a few weeks. But that's cool! Just give me some good, strong coffee and I'm happy! Merry Christmas to you and Lamar!!!:)

Good grief, I can't even remember what we had for dinner yesterday! Is it only Monday night? We're heading for the Christmas Eve service at church, with Kristen's group leading the service. She has permission from her doctor to do this one thing. Then we'll have gift opening at our house, with a good soup supper. OH, yes, I just remembered - we had a wonderful early Christmas Eve dinner at my SIL's, and we all brought wonderful things. I took my 7-layer salad and bought a Black Forest cake at Sam's.

Have a wonderful, blessed Christmas!
