Sunday Dinner, November 4, 2007

It's now 11 pm and Lamar and I just got home from the weinie roast and hayride about 45 minutes ago. It was great and we had a wonderful time, but it's late and this post is going to be short and sweet.

Lamar leaves for Texas early Sunday morning so I hadn't planned on cooking Sunday Dinner anyway, but I received an unexpected invitation to eat Sunday Dinner with Jessica, Jason and Emmy. They borrowed my gas grill and are cooking burgers, hot dogs and steaks with all the trimmings. They've invited me and Lamar's Mom and stepdad, and I think Ducky and Lisa are going as well. I don't know if Sue is going or not.

A cookout where I don't have to provide the food and cook it? Works for me for Sunday Dinner.

Your turn. What are your plans or your menu for your Sunday Dinner? If you want to participate just post your plans in the comments.Red*Lobster was wonderful and we had a great time with our friends on the way to Memphis and back. The Endless*Shrimp was delicious, especially the scampi and hand breaded shrimp that I got, and I love the cheddar*bay*biscuits. Lamar had the grilled salmon and our friends got the shrimp as well. We all agreed that we'll have to do it again soon even though the shrimp special will be ending next week.

We saw some spectacular Autumn color on the foliage, though it's still a few weeks until it will be at peak. Unfortunately most of the trees were too far from the interstate to get any good pictures so I didn't even bother getting out my camera. Jessica and Jason got almost everything moved today and we'll be eating at their new rent house. They don't have everything settled just yet but we'll make the best of it tomorrow and maybe even help them unpack and organize if necessary. Since it's so late I probably won't visit or comment much tonight but I'll try to catch up with you all soon. It's been a long, full, eventful day and Diane is TARD. Even when you're enjoying yourself a long day is a long day.

And speaking of long days, DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK!And now is when I wish everyone a blessed Sunday. May God meet all your needs, and may you have enough to share.

Glad you had such a wonderful fun filled day with your hubby and friends!
Your dinner tomorrow sounds yummy!
We're going to our daughter's tomorrow as well. She's baking a ham for dinner. I'll be trying a new dessert recipe. Hope it's a good one, if so I'll share!!

Sounds like a great day all week long! I'm glad Jessica is going to fix dinner for you today. We had grilled pork chops with baked potatoes, corn, butternut squash, and crescent rolls (no, I didn't make them this time - left it to the Pillsbury Doughboy!)

Have a great week.

We went out for lunch & will have dinner at home. Pat is making steak & gravy with undecided other things at this point.

Today we are sunny but about ten degrees cooler than you. It is a change for us as Maui was about 87 every afternoon.

I hope it will be nice in Texas for Lamar.

Hey friend! I love me some R*ed L*obster, too! I was talking to my hubs on the way to church today and asked him if he thought I could ride along on one of his business trips to Arkansas, then maybe swing down your direction. He said he thought we might be able to do that in February! Whaddaya think?

We're grillin' a bunch of stuff for dinner tonight - to make up for lunch at Mickey D's. Have a blessed day!

Diane,

Congratulations on the dinner invitation. We had a casserole for Sunday dinner. It is one of those where you dump everything together in the dish, mix it and bake it.

Here is the recipe:

3 large potatoes, shredded.
2 carrots, shredded.
1/2 cup diced onion.
2 cups chopped ham.
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped.
3/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated.

Add all ingredients to casserole dish and mix thoroughly. Bake in a preheated oven to 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until veggies are tender. Delicious! Can be served alone or as a side dish.

Good Morning Diane,
I guess your still sleeping at this time. LOL. I have been up since a little after 10:00p.m. I just updated my site and I am doing some visiting now. I know it's a bit early. LOL. I am so glad you had a good time Saturday at Red Lobster. Did you eat any for me? LOL. I can't stand to drive in Memphis, it makes me so nervous. They drive crazy over there. I'm a back seat driver as well as a front seat driver. LOL. Hubby grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill for us Saturday evening. They sure were good. I hope you have a great Monday. Take care my dear friend.

Hugs,
Karen H.

I have some really good memories of driving to Memphis to eat at Red Lobster when I was growing up. My grandmother loved to take me there!

I took the day "off" from cooking too...my husband made chicken and rice, and it was yummy!

Good Afternoon Diane,
Hope you are doing okay. I do hope you are staying warm. It is quiet a bit colder than this time yesterday. The girls had to wear their big coats to school today. I turned the heat back on this morning. They are saying we are supposed to have a hard freeze tonight and be down to 28. Now that is gonna be cold. I may call you one day this week and let you help me again if you don't mind. I'm doing some cooking today and fixing to start some laundry again. Girl if it was up to me, I would have me a hysterectomy too. But right now, we don't have any medical insurance and a doctor has to tell you it is necessary for insurance to pay for it. Hopefully if hubby finds another job with insurance and we get straightened out financially, I might can get one. I would go and have one tomorrow if it was left up to me, but unfortunately it isn't. Well, I'm gonna go for now. Just thought I would drop by for a bit. Take care and stay warm.

Hugs,
Karen H.
