Shall We Play Catch Up?

Hmm...Where to start? With Lamar, I suppose.

I've talked to Lamar on the phone almost every day while he's been in Texas and we even emailed back and forth today for an hour. He had the opportunity to visit the library and use one of their computers.

The memorial service for Lamar's Dad was well attended and the pastor gave a good message according to Lamar. Wayne had a host of friends and many of them attended the memorial service Wednesday night.

Lamar and his brother, Mark, have done all they can do for the time being regarding Wayne's legal affairs. After they do a final walk through of Wayne's apartment on Saturday they'll be finished there and Lamar will be catching the Amtrak train back home on Saturday evening if all goes as planned. He should be home Sunday morning barring any delays. As far as Jessica, Jason and Emmy are concerned, I do have some breaking news to share. Jessica has posted about some of their news HERE if you'd like to read her update.

Jessica now has a job at the daycare where Emmy and my great nephew Seth stay every day. Jessica's in training to be the head teacher and she'll have good benefits when she's been there the required time for them to kick in. And Emmy's daycare will be free, which is a Godsend!

An answered prayer! Thank you, Lord!

Jason is still looking for a job, bless him. He's trying very hard, putting in applications in person and online and searching the help wanted ads in the newspaper every day. I cooked supper for us all Friday night and Jason used my computer to check the status of some his job applications and put in more online applications.

I made homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes and cheddar bay biscuits, then we had cheesecake for dessert. Jessica's ear infection is still lingering on but she's still taking her meds and is feeling some better. Emmy is a great deal better but still has a lot of congestion and a runny nose. Overall she's feeling better though. You can tell she's much happier and her usual sunny disposition is almost back to normal.

I had the opportunity to play with Emmy for a little while then she was getting hungry and sleepy, so I fed her and held her until she went to sleep. Then she woke up and fussed because her nose was stuffy and she couldn't breathe right, bless her heart. Jessica finally took her in my bedroom and cuddled with her on my bed until she fell asleep. Emmy, not Jessica, although I think Jessica almost conked out, too, LOL! ;o)

I'll have the pleasure of keeping Emmy on Saturday while Jessica and Jason work on fixing up a house they're about to move into. To make a long story short, the property management company that Jessica worked for before, the ones who fired her, manage the apartments she and Jason live in right now. They're being nasty and are forcing them to move or face eviction proceedings. Jessica and Jason are NOT behind on their rent, the property management company just wants them out because Jessica is a former employee and as I said, they just want to be nasty.

So Jessica and Jason are moving as soon as they can get the house ready to move into. The people who lived there before trashed the place and it needs a lot of work. The landlady is willing to buy the materials needed for repairs if Jessica and Jason will do the work. She's also giving them credit toward their rent for their work, so they won't owe rent for several months.

Another answered prayer! Thank you, Lord! I received notice in the mail that my insurance is effective now, and all the way back to June 2005, which is when I filed for my disability. I still have to wait for the paperwork to choose a primary care physician and I still have to have a photo ID insurance card made before I can actually use my insurance, but still, progress is being made, praise the Lord!I want to thank MARY @ MARY'S WRITING NOOK for honoring me with the Wonder Woman Award. I'm not so sure that I deserve it, but I appreciate that Mary thinks I do.

Thank you, Mary. This award means a lot coming from you, sweet friend.

If you're not acquainted with Mary, please drop by her blog and pay her a visit. I know Mary will make you welcome. :-)
As of this writing at midnight Friday night I have no idea what's on tap for my Sunday Dinner. I should have a better idea what my plans will involve by the time I post my regular Sunday Dinner post on Saturday evening.

In the meantime, I wish y'all a great Autumn Saturday, and God's richest blessings on you all.

Sounds like you have all sorts of good things happening, in the midst of some tough ones. Praying for safety for Lamar as he comes home - those trips leaving behind someone you love are hard, hard. I admire that young couple's tenacity! xoxoxo

It is so good to catch up with you!

I'm so happy to hear that some of the kids problems have been resolved and I'm sure the answers to the rest are on their way!

Poor Miz Emmy...I saw on the news this week that cold medicines do not good and they are advising for children under 6 not to be given any. I guess it might be time to get out the vics salve...an old home remedy for sure...lol!

A beautiful fall day here!
Wishing Lamar safe travels today!

Have a wonderful day!

I am so sorry for the heartache of losing a loved one, and the other problems you're dealing with now. I pray for added grace for all of you to get through them, and believe that something good will come of all of it. I want you to know that you have a praying friend.
