Sunday Dinner, August 26, 2007

I'm sure this will come as no great surprise to any of you, but Diane ain't cookin' no Sunday Dinner this week. Again.

Besides the fact that it's so stinkin' hot right now, I do have a very good reason for not cooking Sunday Dinner this week. I haven't been home this afternoon/evening to cook for Sunday Dinner.

Jessica, Jason, Emmy and I made a quick trip to Wal*mart then we stopped at McDon*ald's and picked up supper to eat as we rode around. We didn't go anywhere special, just rode around and talked, listened to a little music and enjoyed the evening.

Miss Emmy woke up a few times for a bottle and to coo and jabber a little, but most of the time she just slept.

There was a beautiful sunset and then there was a bright ¾ moon, occasionally shrouded by some drifting clouds. There was some distant lightning on the horizon but the rain and storms never materialized here.

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening, hope yours was as lovely as mine.

Now, that's my excuse for not cooking Sunday Dinner this week. What's yours? Or, if you're cooking, what's for dinner? Just share your menu or your plans in the comments.

That's going to do it for this post.

May God richly bless you with all you need, and may you have enough to share.

I think were gonna have surprise dinner. What ever I go in there and cook will be a surprise!! We were at the pool from 9:30 am til 1:00 pm for the boy scouts pool party. We had pizza and drinks.
Tonight we had pork-loin beans and mashed potatoes. I may drag out a sandwich tomorrow.
Have a good Sunday sister
Love you
Donna

Just the thought of turning on the the stove makes me sweat. I'm sure I'll have to do it sometime today... Ergh...

I know you loved the Flower Child template from Goofy Girl. I didn't fit right on my blog, so it's still up for grabs! She is a sweetie to work with! Hint! ;o)

More than likely we will go out for Mexican this evening...we be tared from keeping the Ohio grands yesterday...the weather was not so hot up this way...we had a rain shower but where their Mama works there was severe weather and a nearby tornado!! She and the other employee's had to wait it out in a stairwell...tense times for sure!!
Took the grands to McD's last night too to get their minds off things...they were "full" of questions to say the least!!
Have a great day!!

Our Sunday dinner consisted of stuffed flounder and asparagus. Hubby says nukulatin' frozen foods doesn't count as home cookin', but I disagree. If it was cooked at home, and there's dishes to wash, then it counts.

It's hot here, too. We did get a thunderstorm Thursday, but it didn't cool it off any.

Have a fabulous week!

I think your day was more important and certainly a lot more fun than cooking!
I'm not cooking today either. I made a huge kettle of hamburger soup a few days ago and will dip into that for my dinner today. Maybe have a toasted flour tortilla too.
I still haven't made that apple pie.

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend an evening Diane. I'm making spaghetti, meatballs and sausage with a tossed salad. I get to eat out every saturday after church so I feel like I should make some effort on sunday :)
Have a great week!!

Only one son and I were home for dinner on Sunday (evening) so we picked up some nice spicy Thai food. Delicious.

I especially love your Sunday dinner graphic this week, Diane. Do you create them yourself?

You commented; "I'm 43 but you're never too young to put these things into practice. :-)"

I'm so happy you took this thought, from my Gift of Growing Older entry. Well, my entry leading one to the place where the lovely sentiments are posted.

I had the good fortune of being cooked for by my SIL. She had everyone over for all the family's summer birthdays - 5 in all, plus a couple of anniversaries coming up in early September.

Then over to my mom's for a get-together of my side of the family because my niece from England is here and others are moving away. Busy, busy day! Thank the Lord for a wonderful, relaxing concert at church in the evening after such a hectic afternoon.

McDonalds and a nice ride. Sounds good to me. Actually, I did something similar. My husband was out of town for a few days and I had to pick him up at the airport. The traffic was gridlocked going home, so we took some shortcuts he knew about. Dinner at a rather shabby Burger King, but the chance to drive through a little town I have wanted to see for a long time.
