Yes, I realize that it's only Friday, but I'm going camping today through Sunday so I won't be here to post this on Saturday evening as I usually do.
I haven't the foggiest idea what I'll be having for Sunday Dinner or even where I'll be at that time. Depends on when we decide to pack up and leave the camping area.
For all of you who visit here and regularly participate in my Sunday Dinner, feel free to leave your plans and menus in the comments. If you're a new visitor, welcome, and feel free to do the same.
I'll catch up when I get back home. Y'all go ahead and play without me till I get home, 'kay?Up until the last few hours my camping trip has been in jeopardy. Without getting too graphic or descriptive I've been experiencing some gastric upset. The kind of gastric upset that results in sudden unexpected visits to the restroom along with severe nausea. My roiling innards woke me up several times during the night and I was sure I'd have to bolt for the porcelain throne to perform a sudden review of my stomach contents but I managed to fight it off and doze fitfully until about 5:30 Thursday morning.
I drank water and orange Gator*ade all day but I couldn't even think of food without wanting to do the old heave ho. I was weak and draggy and Jessica came to get Emmy on her lunch break. I was worried about Emmy getting whatever I had if it was a virus as I suspect it was. After Jessica picked up Emmy I slept in the recliner for a few hours and felt a little better, but I was still making frequent appearances in the powder room.
Come supper time I had decided that poor Lamar needed to eat whether I did or not and the thought of food didn't make me quite as green as it did earlier so I fried some country style ribs, made some instant potatoes and opened some corn. That was the extent of my gourmet cooking for the evening. I managed to eat some potatoes and a few bites of corn and one rib without bringing it back up for another look, but it was iffy for a while.
My innards are still not quite settled back to normal but I think I'm on the road to recovery. There's at least one type of 24 hour bug going around and I'm hoping that's all this was. If so I should be doing okay after a good night's sleep and ready for my camping trip with my sister Donna.
If you've missed me around the blogosphere today it's because I've been kind of puny. I don't know if I'll get around to visiting and commenting on any of your blogs tomorrow before we leave, but I'll try to catch up when I get home. Y'all slow down and don't post so much while I'm gone, 'kay? I just know I'm gonna get home, turn on the computer and there'll be 358 new posts while I was gone! I'll do my best to get around to you all as soon as I can rest and recover.I'll say so long for now, and wish you all a wonderful and blessed weekend. May God bless you with all you need, and enough to share.

Well, we're a bit closer to Sunday here in Australia, but I STILL don't know what I'm going to have for dinner. We tend to have pasta if we're stuck for something to have, often one with bacon and tomato sauce, a bit of chili, onion.
Have a good camping trip, hope your tummy bug doesn't spoil things.
safe travels and have fun
hope you stay well
That tummy bug sounds awful. I wouldn't want to have that while camping (or any other time!)
I'm surprised you cooked when you felt so icky. (Maybe Lamar isn't a kitchen kind of guy?)
Sending you big ((hugs)) and wishes for a speedy recovery!
We're having a bbq on Sun with our daughter. Menu to be decided..
xo
You poor thing!! I hope you are better soon and catch plenty of fish...you might even get enough for a fish fry ;)
We were going to cook out but the Ohio grands are going to see Indiana relatives so maybe another time...I guess we'll eat out somewhere instead...
Have a happy and safe time!!
:)
Oh dear, I do hope you are feeling much better by now and have been able to enjoy your weekend of camping!! Looking forward to hearing all about it:-) For Sunday dinner we had a pot luck at my brother in laws...many of his neighbours had brought over food after the funeral. We made sure he ate too:-) xox
I'm so glad it was the 24 hour variety! That would not be a fun thing out in the wilds of Arkansas!
Have a wonderful time. Relax completely. Don't worry about catching up!
It's been a while since that bug hit me but when it does, it's the worst. Sounds like you're recovering just in time to enjoy your camping trip. Have a great, relaxing time.
mmmmmmm, wonder if I can get in 5 posts a day from now to Sunday?????
heeheehee.
Oh, sorry to hear about that bug. I absolutely hate that kind!
Hope you're over it all enough to have a wonderful time...enjoy!
I think that so-so frozen pizza was the culprit. Hope you feel better!
Tummy bugs are the worst. It has been going around here too. Fortunately, I have missed it so far and that is fine with me.
Praying you felt well enough for your trip and had a wonderful time.
Love and Hugs, Lyndy
Just here to wish you a great end to your week!
Love and hugs from Me and Diane:-)
Hope your camping trip turns out fun and not too hot and buggy. I was interested in your disability hearing because I have just started the process and am not sure if I will ever continue it to appeals. I have psoriatic arthritis and severe psoriasis on my fingers. I have had two dermatologists tell me to apply, but it is so involved. I am so happy that you will likely be getting approved. Every little bit helps.
I hope you're having a wonderful time with your sister. We're having pork loin roast tomorrow, and hope it's not too hot, since I'll be turning on the oven for the first time all summer.
Check out our wonderful Saturday when you get a chance.
I sure hope you are over the bug by now. YUCK! I have a sick tummy. I usually make myself a mixture of 2 tablespoons lemon juice and the same of water, chug it down and within about 15 minutes the nausea is gone.
I made a chicken rice casserole tonight and that's what I'll be having tomorrow, probably with a garden salad.
Take care Diane. Hugs!
Stopped by to say that I hope that your tummy troubles left before your camping trip began. I have prayed that you would have a nice restful time with lots of love and laughter.
May your upcoming week be one filled with blessings and good health.!
Thanks! I did take the pictures - I think DC took one, because it was on his side of the car. But I have been enjoying my camera SO much, and seeing God's beauty so much more intimately as I look for shots.
Hope you had a great time!
Sorry about the tummy bug. Net's been down for a while and just came back.
Hope you're feeling better.
Say hi to your sisters for me please. I don't know how long I'll have the net this time.
I'm sorry you had such a rough time with your stomach last week, but I sure hope it didn't keep you from camping. We went camping this past weekend too, and had a great time. Where do you camp in NE Arkansas? We didn't camp much when I was growing up, but we did spend a lot of time at some state parks in that area. Mostly to fish or hike or see the fall foliage. Very pretty area you live in, ya know!
Diane

Sending extra Hugs and sugar for you , and when you feel 100% spill a little on Emmy for me LOL
