Sunday Dinner, May 20, 2007

Once again it's Saturday night and I'm really not sure what's on the menu for my Sunday Dinner.

Last Sunday I planned on having spaghetti for dinner, but Lamar ended up taking me out for Chinese for Mother's Day, which was great! We had the spaghetti on Wednesday.

Lamar will be taking his Mom out to eat for Sunday Dinner, so that leaves me to decide what to do or cook. I never know who or how many will be here for Sunday Dinner and that makes it so difficult to plan for, so this week? I have lunchmeats - baloney, honey ham, hickory smoked turkey breast and smoked ham.

If somebody would rather eat out than have a sandwich? Hey, I'm more than willing if they want to buy my Sunday Dinner! Just say the word and I'm there!

I'd really rather cook a meal, but I'm telling you, I just don't feel up to it. I'm not sick, I'm just not myself, you know what I mean? I'm sore and achy, plus my arthritis pain that's with me all the time, and I'm just tired. I don't have any energy at all.

Oh well, this too shall pass. And soon I hope.

Now, what're your plans for Sunday Dinner? Just share your menu or your plans in the comments.
Jessica, Jason and Emmy came by for a short visit Friday evening on their way to do some shopping. They're all doing great. Emmy is doing fine with her formula and breast milk, thank goodness.

Jessica and Emmy go back to see the doctor for a checkup on Monday. We're not sure when he might release Jessica to go back to work. Jessica has a neighbor that is related to a school friend who might be babysitting Emmy when Jessica goes back to work. I'll probably be keeping Emmy some as well, but everything depends on Jessica's hours, etc. We should know more about it in a few weeks.

I'm going to cook some supper in a bit after I publish this, then study my lessons for church.

What's for supper you ask? I have some William's Extra Sage breakfast sausage, the kind you slice into patties. I'll cook some of that, and I'm scrambling some eggs. That's it. I told you I didn't feel like cooking a big meal.

Excitin' stuff happenin' here at La Casa de Jennings, let me tell you!

Y'all have a wonderful and blessed weekend.

Blogger seems to have taken a deep breath and is allowing comments again (I think!)

I sure hope you start feeling better. Maybe your body is just telling you that you need to slow down and take care of yourself for a moment or two. Give in and rest.

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well.

Hugs,
Connie

Sausage and scrambled eggs sounds good to me! In fact, we just might have that for Sunday dinner now that you have put the idea in my head. I was thinking of a chicken rice casserole or lasagna since I have both waiting in the freezer. But now that you mention it. . .

So, that little Emmy is already learning how to shop--UH OH1 They better watch out. That's a dangerous thing to get started with a girl!:)

It is understandable that you are tired...you "helped" your daughter give birth for heaven's sake...I dare anyone that has ever been through it to refute that fact...lol!!
Today I will make our standard Sunday Mornin' pancakes and later on I will attempt a new recipe called "King Ranch Chicken" a Texas Casserole recipe...if it is good I will post the recipe next week :)
Take it easy my friend and pamper yourself a bit, you deserve it!!
(((hugs)))

You've been so busy caring for everyone else.

Slow down a bit. Lunch meat for dinner? Sure.

I've run into a bit of a brick wall myself. Not exactly sick but my energy level sure isn't what it should be.

Hugs.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding my get up and go lately..I think it got up and left! lol If the weather would settle down, maybe I would feel up to doing more...yesterday was gorgeous but today it's cold and we had frost again this morning with some snow flurries! Ugh! Glad to hear Jessica and Emmy are doing so well:-) xoxo

Hi Diane, I'm making a kielbasa (sp?) soup for dinner. It has vegggies and lentils in it and is really a filling meal.
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I really think when you have so much going on in your life, you just finally get to the point where your body says "I need a break!" You've had so many things going on. Just the worry over Jessica and Emmy is enough to wear you out. My perscription is for lots of rest and pampering of yourself. If I were close enough I'd take you to dinner myself. You most definitely deserve it - and it would be such fun to sit and chat.
Have a restful sunday Diane. Feel better.

I hate it that you don't feel good right now, Diane. Wish I knew some magic for you. A little health insurance would sure help, wouldn't it? I tell you, when Rob's benefits kick in, it's going to take a week to get all the doctor's (and dentist) appointments in - I'll be trying to get us caught up.

I'm making shisk kabobs on the grill today with wild rice on the side. It's one of our favorite summer meals. It used to be a camping favorite, too.

Have a restful Sunday. I'm glad to hear Jessica feels good enough to get out of the house now. Nothing like a little shopping trip to perk a girl up, even if it's only for groceries. LOL

Your Sunday supper sounds yummy to me. Eggs and sausage, nothing better than that!!

I ended up having a meatloaf sandwich (love them) for dinner and hot dogs for supper! They were great. I seldom have hot dogs so they were good for a change!

We had company in for dinner tonight and had a cookout...eating out on the patio. Usually though...we just eat popcorn while watching a movie on Sunday evenings! Have a good week! Diane

It is now sort of after the fact, but our Sunday dinner was cube steak, homemade mac & cheese, green salad and a glass of wine. Pretty simple but also pretty good.

We had a break from fixing the family meal yesterday and actually got to go to our favorite Chinese restaurant with some friends. Great fun.

I'm with you on the no energy thing - don't know what's up with me. Got nothing done this week-end!
