I just talked to Danny and Mikki is back in the hospital as of Friday night. Her blood pressure will not regulate and is still way too high.In addition to the eclampsia she is borderline for toxemia now and the doctors are monitoring her bloodwork and her blood pressure very closely. They are trying some different medications as well.
Her doctor told them if she goes into labor on her own they will not stop her labor. If she goes toxic and critical, they will have to take the baby. They don't know at this time if she will be transferred to Little Rock or Memphis for delivery of the baby, or if she will stay in the hospital at Jonesboro. It depends on how Mikki is doing when the decision is made.
Our church is having a baby shower for them on Saturday afternoon. Of course Mikki won't be able to be there now, so the plan is for Danny to be there to open their gifts in her stead. If things don't go critical with Mikki and baby Seth, that is.
Please keep praying for them, my friends. They asked me to let you know how much they appreciate your prayers and concern. They are understandably concerned, but they also believe in the power of prayer and know that all is in God's hands.
If there's anything new to report I'll update here.
Jessica and Jason came up for supper tonight and I made spaghetti and meatballs, homemade yeast rolls and breadsticks, and homemade cinnamon rolls. I took pictures as I was kneading and preparing the rolls and cinnamon rolls.
You can find the recipe for my Yeast Rolls and
Cinnamon Rolls HERE. Scroll down under
my Chicken and Dumplin's.
ready to go into a greased bowl to rise. There's a story behind my breadboard. I know it
probably doesn't look too fancy to anybody else, and
it isn't from an expensive kitchen supply
store, but it was my Mama's and it works for me.
Can you tell what it's made from? It's a piece of
that waterproof panelling stuff like they use
in bathrooms in showers and behind tubs, then
it's screwed to a piece of half-inch plywood.
Mama had my brother-in-law, Jerry, make
it for her because all her other bread boards
were too small to knead yeast bread on them.
It's even more special to me now because
Jerry died in 1998 and Mama died in 2005.
That turquoise finish on it? It sometimes chips off.
It hasn't hurt anybody yet and we've decided it
must add flavor to all my baked goods. Here's my yeast rolls after they've risen
and just before I put them in the oven.
There's a story here, too.
Remember when I talked about the
old lever-action ice trays HERE?
That pan they're in is an old copper ice tray
that used to have a lever in the center
that you pulled back to release the ice cubes.
Seriously. The copper pan makes a dandy
bread pan. It cooks so evenly and never sticks.
Have I ever mentioned that my
family is very inventive and good at
making use of what's on hand? This is my cinnamon roll dough, spread
with butter, sugar and cinnamon, just
before I rolled it up and sliced it to put
it in the baking pan for the last rise. Here are the finished yeast rolls.
See the melted butter puddled up on them?Sorry, I didn't get a picture of the cinnamon
rolls before Jessica and Jason got to them.
I was in fear for my life while they were
baking! You'd think they hadn't just eaten
spaghetti and meatballs, breadsticks and
yeast rolls just an hour before.I took some more belly pictures tonight
that I want to share with you. As you can see, Jessica is really beginning
to bloom. Judging fr0m what she ate tonight,
I'm beginning to wonder if she's
eating for more than two!Jessica is very selfconscious because of
her stretch marks. I was a good Mama
and told her that the worst was yet to
come since she still has until the end of
May to go if she goes to her due date. This last picture I was trying for sweet
and touching. Instead, there was much
giggling and snorting. Jessica accused
Jason of tickling her and
Jason insisted he wasn't tickling her.
Oh, well...
I think that's about all I can muster up
tonight. Good Lord willing and the creek
don't rise, I should be back to post my
Sunday Dinner Saturday evening.
dear family and friends.

God bless Mikki and Danny They are going through a very frightening time. And God bless baby Seth too and keep him safe.
I am keeping them I my prayers.
Diane your homemade goods always look so good I just want to tear into my kitchen and pull out all the ingredients and make some too. Oh my goodness those buttered rolls are something dreams are made of!
They are good...not fattening either;)If you want to diet the rest of the week;)lol...They do look good Diane:).
I've never been to a baby shower where the "Daddy" opened the presents. We may be starting a new tradition. It's good for the Daddy's to be there I think;).
See you tomorrow Sister,Love you
Oh sweet friend, I know this must be a very stressful time for Mikki and Danny. How sweet that Danny will go to the shower in Mikki’s place, though I know she must be sad to miss it. Continuing to keep them in my prayers and will add them to my ministry prayer list as well.
Oh my sweet goodness…all that food looks so yummy. What a neat idea for a bread board and all the more special that it was made by your brother and belonged to your mother. Can’t say as I blame Jessica and Jason for digging in as they did...the pictures are tempting and I can only imagine what the real deal smells and tastes like.
Great pictures of Jessica. Just think…3 more months until she makes her debut. Have you decided what you want to be called yet?
Have a wonderful weekend and keep us posted on Mikki and Danny.
Hugs, Lyndy
My prayers are certainly continuing for Mikki, Danny and baby Seth...I can't even imagine what they're going through, not knowing what will happen. At least right now she's getting the best care there is...the rest is in the Lord's hands.
Your homemade baked goods look soooo yummy! Can you adopt me so that I can go eat at your place every day?? lol
Loved the pictures of Jessica...she certainly is coming along very well and that little bundle inside of her is growing by leaps and bounds:-)
Take care my friend! Hugs xoxo
That high blood pressure is so scary. I was scared out of my wits when this started happening while Krissy was carrying Cameron. It was a huge relief when that baby was born. You can bet they're keeping an extremely close eye on her. Thank the Lord.
Diane, I honestly believe I gain a pound or two when you post pictures like this. I felt like diving into those rolls and doing the backstroke through that butter.
And that photo of Jason kissing the baby just melted my heart. That photo combined with all that butter, well, this is just one melty post!
Here's a sneak peek at our Sunday dinner. Guess what UPS delivered to our door last night? A Honey Baked Ham! Bev and Don sent us a Honey Baked ham for Valentine's Day! Lord have mercy, what a feast we're going to have! I want to get the ham scarfed up so I can make some navy bean soup with that ham bone. :-)
Sending prayers on their way today for Mikki and the baby. That's so scary, but it sounds like she's in good hands.
Those rolls and bread look so wonderful. I can just imagine the smell fresh from the oven!
I love the pictures of Jessica. So sweet.
And those cinnamon rolls? I'd eat the whole pan if you'd put them in front of me.
You must all be worried about Mikki and baby Seth. That's such a scary thing, the hospital really is the best place for her..
Your rolls look absolutely delish, and how clever you are to use the copper ice cube tray. That's a larger tray that I remember Mom having..
Jessica looks glowing and healthy!
Sending prayers for all of you.
xoxo
I'm so sorry about Mikki. I'll continue praying all will go well for her and the baby.
All of your pictures of food just make my mouth water.
I have a very special bread board that my younger son made for me. It's a treasure.
Jessica is so cute. That baby is really growing. You all must be getting very excited.
Have a good weekend Diane. I hope you're feeling a bit better.
I feel so lazy...I do the "whop" cinnemon rolls...You know the kind...you whop them on the counter to open the can...tee hee!!
I remember the lever ice trays!!!
:-D
Im still praying for Mikki, Danny and Seth. Big hugs for both of them.
yummmy cinnamon rolls.
I swear I put on 5 pounds just lookign at those photos. I can smell them from here.
I will be praying for Mikki, Danny and the baby of course.
Aww! Love the belly shots - not much longer! How I would love to hold a new little baby. Your food looks awesome too.
I'm sorry to hear about Mikki - that is so common lately.
OHHHHHHH! I'm so hungry now! I truly could live the rest of my life on yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls! I make mine with the bread machine, but still don't have them just right. The family still eats them all, but I'm just not satisfied with them until there's bloodshed over who gets the last one.
