HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, Y'ALL ! !

Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends and family, and thank you all for the Valentine's ecards and greetings you've sent me. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Valentine's Day.

I have a few pictures I want to share
if I can get Blogger to cooperate.
This is my maternal Grandma Martha and my
Grandpa Fred, taken about 1921.
I think she's pregnant with their first baby here.
I thought this was
such a romantic picture
it would be ideal to post for Valentine's Day!
Sour lookin' couple, ain't they?
I just thought this picture was cute, especially for
Valentine's Day. This was taken in August of 1991.
Jessica was 3 here and her cousin Devin was 1 year old.
This picture was taken on June 28, 1988,
at a birthday party for my Mama.
It's one of my favorite pictures of Jessica.
She's almost 8 months old here.
This last picture comes with a prayer request
and and explanation. This is my sister
Ducky's son, Danny, and his wife, Mikki.

Mikki is expecting their first child,

due in late March, but she's having
some serious complications and she
and Seth, their infant son, are both in danger.
Mikki has eclampsia and her blood pressure
is dangerously high, even with complete
bedrest and several different blood pressure
medications. She's in the hospital as I type this
early Wednesday morning. If her blood
pressure can't be brought under control she may
have to go to Little Rock or Memphis and they
may have to take the baby over a month early.

If they do manage to get her blood pressure
under control, she'll be going home for complete
bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy, or until the
next crisis. Danny needs to work as much
as possible for obvious reasons, and Mikki
can't stay by herself because her blood pressure
is making her dizzy and lightheaded.

So...as the resident family nurse, I may be staying
with Mikki and Danny for several days or so,
depending on what the doctors decide is best for
Mikki and the baby. They don't have internet
service so I may be inblognito for a while.

As I said it all depends on her condition and what
doctors decide is best for them. Please pray for
Danny, Mikki and the baby. Right now if they
have to take the baby he would be 6 weeks early.
I know medicine has made progress by
leaps and bounds in treating and saving preemies,
but we just want what's best for Mikki and
baby Seth, of course.

If I do have to be away from the blog for a while,
I'll let everyone know with a short post.
You might get some news by checking my sister
Cecil's blog
or my sister Donna's blog if I do
have to be out of pocket for a time.

Thanks ahead of time for your prayers,
and my love and blessings to all.

Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!!

Your first picture made me giggle because so many pictures at that time look exactly the same...Wonder what the photographer said to the couple before he took their picture???

Jessica is darling for sure!

You can count on my prayers for Mikki. I know if you go and help out she will be in the best of care.

Hugs,
Connie

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I've been lurking for a long time but wanted you to know that I will definitely pray for Mikki and Seth.

I read Cecil and Donna's blogs so I found out about the seriousness of Mikki's situation last night. She's already covered in prayer from Colorado. I hope between you and your sisters, you can keep us updated.

I love that photo. You know, absolutely no one smiled in photos back then. I wonder why. Surely some of our grandparents and great grandparents were happy. But you'd surely never know it from their photos. I've got some that would scare you half to death. LOL

Happy Valentine's Day, my friend. A little bird told me you have a special date today. :-)

Happy Valentine's Day, Diane.

Oh Diane I just love the picture and your comment “Sour lookin' couple, ain't they?” (lol) I must say back then people sure looked sour a lot of times didn’t they? I like Barb said, have some that would scare the living daylights out of you.

Prayers being said from Georgia for your nephew Danny, and his wife, Mikki and baby Seth. What a scary situation and I will be checking for updates.

Have a blessed day dear one.

Hey Diane,
Definately a big request. I had eclampsia with Ashley which caused her to be born at 26 weeks gestation. I was on bedrest in the hospital for 4 months!!! she was born 3 pounds. I will pray for her and the baby it is dangerous.
Happy Valentines day to you! Hope you have a great one.

Hi, Diane. I am not a blogger, but have been snooping on your site for quite some time. I felt compelled to leave a comment after reading about your nephew. Your family will definitely be in my prayers. My sister had eclampsia with both her children. One was taken 3 months early and weighed 1 lb. 10 oz. the other was taken 2 months early and weighed 3 lbs. So I know how scary this is for the whole family. But I am happy to tell you that my sister and her children all are doing great. My nephew is now 7 and my niece is 18 months. Please let Mikki know that she is in a lot of prayers and that will get her and her family through this tough time.

I hope all goes well for your nephew and niece. I think anymore one month early is not much of a problem. If you are at their home perhaps you can sneak off to a library to use a PC for blog updates while he is home?

The picture cracked me up - I think photographers back then must have told them NOT to say cheese!

I hope you feel well enough to go help out. I will add them to my list of requests. So scary, but God is in control!

Happy Valentine's Day and thanks for stopping by to see my husband's wonderful picture.

Happy Valentines Day Diane! I love the pictures.

I hate hearing about people having pregnancy complications. I will definitely keep Danny and Mikki in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm adding her to my prayer list. Both of my daughters-in-love had high blood pressure during their pregnancies so I know how frightening that can be.
It is just like you to be the one to care for her. She couldn't be in more loving hands.
I'll keep checking on you.
Happy Valentine's Day. Being the computer "Whiz" that I am I couldn't figure out how to do the little valentine card thingy (pathetic - I know). So this is my heartfelt greeting to you dear Diane.

Dearest Diane...I can just imagine how very worried everyone is about Mikki and the baby. My prayers have been added to the others...may everything turn out for them!!

Loved the pictures...I laughed at the first one...I swear in those days no one knew how to smile! I've yet to see one old picture like that where anyone is smiling!!! lol Jessica was such a cutie patootie and still is!! Hope her pregnancy is going well?

Happy Valentine's Day my dear friend! Hugs xoxo

I don't remember ever seeing one of those old pictures where the couple looked happy.

I have one someplace of my great-grandparents (not long after the camera was invented). She looks like Queen Victoria.

I'm so sorry about Mikki and will keep all of you in my prayers as always.

Prayers are happening. My daughter had the exact problem with her first baby. God bless all of you.
If I remember right, people looked rather sad in photos years ago because that was the style. However when we realize how hard they had to work and the diseases that took their families, they probably didn't have much to smile about.
The pictures of Jessica are darling.
Happy Valentine's Diane.

I'll be praying for the baby and family. I hope it all works out well for them.

Love those old pictures!! Folks didn't smile much in the old photos. Things sure have changed haven't they!! The ones of the kids are precious!

Hope your day was special Diane!
