IT'S A GIRL ! !

Due to some rescheduling, Jessica had her ultrasound done today instead of next week. It's official, we're having a girl! Emmy Alexis weighs only 12 ounces right now and is about the size of your hand. Think of a can of soda to compare for size. Apparently Miz Emmy is pretty small for her "age" and they are still saying May 29th for her delivery date. Jessica has been worried ever since the "Pulled Muscles Episode" that the baby hasn't been very active. Apparently this is due to Emmy being so small and also Jessica has a large fluid cyst on one of her ovaries that is painful to Jessica and affecting the baby. I've never heard of the mother's pain affecting the baby, but I suppose it's possible.

It won't be long before she's feeling all the movement she wants, and maybe even a little too much! How well I remember the feeling of baby feet in my ribs. Sometimes it felt like Jessica had on combat boots when she was kicking.

Jessica spent the entire 10 months (Yes, I said 10 months! I went a full month over carrying her) standing on her head. She kept her feet in my ribs and her head in my bladder the whole time. She was never afraid of heights and loved to swing upside down or be spun around. To this day she loves thrill rides and has bungee jumped several times. Yes, it about made this Mama's heart stop when she told me, but she loved it. She also wants to jump out of a perfectly good airplane and skydive but I'm not sure my heart can take it. Lord, help me...

So now we know we are having an Emmy and not an Ivan. And we know it's gonna be pink stuff and not blue. Now to start my crocheting and sewing.Apparently, as usual, I didn't make myself understood about my template and the New Blogger. I made the switch from Old Blogger over to Beta Blogger several months back. Now it's just New Blogger, I assume.

Anyway, to access all the features for templates on the New Blogger you have to use one of their new templates for the New Blogger. My custom template switched over fine, but I can't use all the easy-edit features for my template because I still have a template coded for the Old Blogger. As I understand it, the coding on the New Blogger is different from the Old Blogger, and there's the rub. I do have a couple of other blogs that I did switch to the New Blogger and I did switch to the New Blogger templates on those just to see what all the hubbub was about.

If you're curious you can look at my Recipe Blog and my 1ooThings About Me Blog to check out the New Blogger templates there. They may look like Old Blogger templates at first glance, but look closely. They have what are called "widgets" that are easily changed, moved, renamed, deleted, etc. Very easy, and no Html is needed. On most of the templates it's very easy to change your title, header, tagline, sidebar items, blogroll, buttons, links, etc.

I do like those features, but for the present I like my custom template more than I like the easy new features and the templates available on the New Blogger. If and when somebody comes out with some pretty new templates for the New Blogger I'll probably switch my custom template.

One thing I haven't heard is if anybody is making templates for the New Blogger. I've looked at several design sites and I haven't seen a thing referring to the New Blogger. I have no idea if New Blogger coding is easier to work with than the Old Blogger or about the same. As a matter of fact, I haven't even looked at the templates for any of my New Blogger blogs so I have no idea how they're set up.

I'll be back Saturday sometime to do my usual Sunday Dinner post, Lord willing.

Happy weekend, everybody!

Congratulations Diane!!! How sweet. A little Emmy. Oh now you'll have fun. My first grandchild was a little girl too. I knitted and bought sweet little dresses - such fun.
All that blogger/Beta stuff just makes my head spin. I feel like everyone else knows so much more than I do. I can barely get a picture on my posts!!! Ah well - I plan to visit that blogger help site as often as I can.
Have a wonderful weekend Diane!!

Oh who cares about stupid old blogger or new blogger or whatever they're calling it today.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!

Oh, how wonderful, Diane. Honestly, I'm just tickled to death for you. OK, I'd be just as tickled about a boy but to know it's a girl is so special.

And I have lots and lots of pink yarn around here. Care to send me your address sometime in the next few months?

Oh my word, my heart is going pitty patter, I'm just THAT excited about this.

Lord help us all if Krissy gets pregnant any time soon. LOL

Diane,
This just put such a smile on my face! What a wonderful reason to be happy!
You'll have such fun making oodles of pink, ruffly, dainty, darling, frilly stuff!
I think most of us are just as excited about this news as if she were part of our "family" (guess little Miss Emmy will be part of our blogging family!)

D'oh!

I was hoping for a Jimmy Alex. But an Emmy Alexis is just as great. :)

* I can just see you outside now getting target practice with the 12 gauge; preparing for that poor boy who will have to have the courage to ask Emmy to the prom.

Congratulations Granny!

Just think......another girl in the family.....5 just isn't the # anymore.....Mom & Dad would be so proud.....just think, I can buy her clothes, make-up....er..when she's old enough, of course....and if she's anything like her mother, she'll be wanting to get in my make-up and wear my perfume, maybe even my clothes some day......who knows???? Maybe I can hold her @ church and give her back when she cries, spoil her and give her back, & maybe love her like I've always loved her mother.......I think I can handle that. Emmy --welcome to the family. Cecil

Congratulations on sweet little Emmy. She doesn't know it yet, but she's got one super grandma.

Congratulations grandma.
You will have to start a collection of things you will need when you are caring for little Emmy. You know, thermometer, baby tylenol, diapers, pacifiers, bottles. All the usual stuff.
Oh boy, are you going to have a great time. Just think of the big part you will have in forming this little girl's life.

Since I have no other way to contact you, thanks for reading, Patty from Northern California.

I always love it when people comment, but if they don't, that's fine, too. :-)

OMIGOSH, a girl!!!! How wonderful Diane! I'm so thrilled for all of you! You are going to have so much fun with a little granddaughter, all that pink and lacy stuff! hehe Oh dear, I remember how my boys kicked me no end while I was pregnant for them...and my poor bladder, I couldn't even drive the 10 minutes to the mall, I had to find a washroom as soon as I got there! lol

My oldest son Shawn went skydiving a couple of years ago. I told him not to tell me when he was doing it until after it was done...I wouldn't have been able to handle it!

Ok, now I understand what you meant about your template for the New Blogger...they still won't let me switch so I'm still on the old blogger. Maybe one day my blog will just disappear into thin air! lol Wait...that's not funny! lol

Big hugs xoxo

A girll, a girl! Hooray! Her name is adorable!!

Addie was small for date the entire time--so was I, and I just thought I was skinny for having my third. Imagine my surprise when she was only 4 1/2 pounds! Talk about pride before a fall ;)

I had so much fun crocheting her blankets while I was pregnant. After two little boys, the pink was welcome! Congratulations again, Diane! And Jessica:)
