Sunday Dinner For October 15, 2006

Can you believe it's already time for Sunday Dinner again? Man, this week flew by! I've got to cook tonight for tomorrow's Sunday Dinner, so I won't be posting any pics of my trip to Hardy, Arkansas until Sunday night or Monday. I'm kind of disappointed in the pictures anyway. Hardly any of the leaves are turning yet. We just had our first frost of the season on Friday morning, so the leaves should be more colorful soon. I'll try to get some shots when I can for the blog.

As for my Sunday Dinner, I'm making beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, weinies and kraut and homegrown purple hull peas from my freezer. My mouth is watering just thinking about the beef and gravy. I haven't made it in a long time. It's comfort food more suited to cooler weather, so I don't make it very often in the hotter times of the year. It's chilly in the mornings now, and the high today was in the mid-70's, typical for an Arkansas mid-October day.

What's on your menu for Sunday Dinner? Eating out? Where? What do you plan to order? Is it a special occasion? Are you making a special dish for your family? Tell me all about your plans in my comments and read about everyone else's Sunday Dinner plans.

Love and blessings to all my family and blogging friends.

Your dinner sounds good, Diane. I think I'm going to make the Italian sausage sandwiches Everyday Mommy posted the recipe for this morning. Sounds easy and perfect for watching football.

Have a Happy Sunday. Looking forward to your pictures, too.

Forget about cooking. I think I'll just come over and have some of your delicious dinner. I'm a much better "eater" than I am a cook :-)

Beef, mashed potatoes and gravy sounds soooo good!
But I have been a little under the weather the past few days so I will probably have some homemade vegetable Beef soup for dinner.
I make huge kettles of soup and freeze it in serving size portions. Then all I have to do is heat and eat.
Your pictures sure show the scenery and landscape well,
Thanks for sharing.
Hey that insect is toooo big!!YIKES!

He's cooking - steaks on the grill, salad, and some kind of potato while we watch Sunday night football. I swear I DO cook, sometimes. It's his turn tomorrow night.

We're off for a little overnight getaway and to check out a great Italian place tonight. Hoping to get some pretty fall colors, since we're going to be in the Sierra Foothills!
Your dinner sounds delish, and...
"I enjoyed my chat with you too!"

I was flat on my back all week-end with a wrenched back, so my dear hubby fixed dinner yesterday - he grilled hamburgers for the whole gang. It was good!

My fam usually goes out to eat on Sunday, but when I was growing up, Sunday dinner was the high point of the week. Alas, times and lives have changed, and it's rare Sunday when I produce a meal like yours. I'm almost forgetting how! I am enjoying your beautiful photos.
