Another Rambling Post That Goes Nowhere In Particular....

I battled with Demon Blogger for an hour trying to upload these three pictures to the blog, but I finally gave it up and tried uploading them to ImageShack. I had absolutely no problem uploading them there. For some reason, when Blogger is cooperating, ImageShack and RockYou won't work for me, and when they're working, Blogger goes on strike. So far I haven't found a day when all three are working at the same time. Grrrrrrr......!

I went with my sisters Cecil, Sue and Ducky to Jonesboro today on some church business. The way I said that made it sound all official and important, but really all we were doing was looking for an anniversary gift for our pastor. He's been with our church for 8 years as of November 1st. We went to a wellknown office supply chain store and picked out a very nice leather office chair with a heated massage feature. Of course, the only one in the store was the display model, sooooooo.....I took a couple of pictures of the display model with my trusty digital camera, and we'll be giving him a card with a picture of the promised gift. It won't be in for a week or so.

Y'all, we're giving our pastor an I.O.U. for his gift! Is that redneck or what?! But that's the one his wife told us they'd looked at and discussed getting sometime in the future, so I don't think he'll be too disappointed about having to wait a little longer to get the one he really wanted. We're having a fellowship Wednesday night at church that our pastor thinks is just to celebrate birthdays for our church members, but it's really a fellowship to celebrate his 8-year anniversary as our pastor, too. I'll have to make a dessert tomorrow afternoon to take for the fellowship. I'm leaning toward pumpkin pies, but it's not set in stone. My choice is subject to change at any time, and probably will. I might even make Barb's Pumpkin Cookies, but she says they need to set overnight to really be at their best.

I've mentioned my sister Ducky on here several times, but I think this is the first picture I've ever posted of her on here. I know it's the first one in a long time anyway. Birth order for the sisters is: (oldest to youngest) Sue, Ducky, Donna (aka Zztop on the blog), me, and Lisa (aka Cecil on the blog).

Jessica and Jason met us at one of our favorite Chinese restaurants for lunch when went shopping for the office chair. We had a good time, but they had to go back to work when they finished eating. The sisters then went to a chain bookstore for a little shopping and coffees all around. The coffee was really good on this chilly day.

Today has really been a seasonal day for late October in Arkansas. It started out at almost 70* this morning, windy and drizzling rain. By 2:30 pm it was down to 55*, blustery and downright chilly. It quit raining in time for the trick or treaters, but it's now down to 47* at 10 pm. A lot of people don't like these rainy, chilly days, but I love them. To me, they are restful and peaceful, reminding me to slow down and appreciate the time to snuggle into my nest. I really don't like hot weather, but you'll never hear me complain about cool or even frigid weather. I love being able to cuddle with my hubby without sweating, and I like being able to snuggle under a warm afghan or fuzzy throw. This is MY time of year, and I hope all those who love the heat of summer got their fill of it, because now it's MY turn to be comfortable.

I did warn you in the title that this post would be gandering around aimlessly. I think I've now proven my point. Now to see if Demon Blogger will let me actually publish this post. Have a good week, and Happy November 1st, y'all.

Funny about the redneck gift preview. Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. What does that tell ya?

Still praying for you guys!

Our weather here in northwest Washington state has been kind of cold for a couple of days. It was 29 both yesterday and this morning with highs only in the mid-40s. I talked with SW and in her town that is over in the desert part of eastern Wash. it was 18 last night but got up to about 71 today. The desert does have different weather than we do here on the coast.

I'd take some of that cooler weather for sure. It's supposed to finally get a little cooler here today.

Can I just tell you that I love how much Jessica loves her Mama? That girl is always spending time with you. Y'all are blessed to have each other.

At least the actual gift you're giving isn't very redneck. I could go on for days about all of the redneck gifts we've given and received.

I got a Bass Pro Shop gift certificate from my Dad last Christmas, and some of Glen's favorite gifts were bought at Camaro graveyards.

Enjoy the weather!

Well yeah, giving an IOU is probably at least a little redneck but I've sure been known to do that occasionally.

I agree with Big Mama. It's so nice the way you and Jessica do so many things together. My girls and I would too if everyone could just slow the heck down a little bit.

I like it when you do these "going nowhere" posts. I'm starting to do a few of these myself. The blogging material seems to be a little scarce lately.

I'm trying to come up with a Christmas traditions post for Sandra but I'm having a heck of a time getting into the spirit as I sit here eating leftover Halloween candy, for pete's sake. Sigh....

I love how you and Jessica spend so much time together. I treasure the time I have with my daughter and I know you do too!
It's finally getting downright chilly here, but they're predicting rain in the next day or so.
Your gift for your pastor sounds like one he'll truly appreciate...

I loved your rambling. It sounds like such fun to go shopping with your sisters. I'm sure your Pastor will understand. I hope he's really surprised with the party.
I do like a chilly day now and then to, but I don't like cold. I think I've just gotten spoiled since moving to Texas. You're right - cuddling is good :-)

That chair sounds like something I would like to have. However the only masage chairs I tried just shook the stuffing out of me. I want something that has a roller inside that will just move up and down my back and bring some relief to the weary muscles.
I'm glad you had such a nice day Diane. It's always such a blessing to have time with family.

Hey Di,

I don't know about everyone else, but I thoroughly enjoy the random musings you do. Your random posts are spontaneous; which makes them particularly fun.

Of course that's not to say that the substantive posts aren't as good.
