A Veritable Smorgasbord Of Bloggery

Mary at Owlhaven gave me an award for a post I did back in February. I submitted it for her Opinion Saturday contest she hosts. I was thrilled to win and I share this one with Karen at Chookooloonks for her post on home decor magazines. The theme was descriptive language for this particular Opinion Saturday. Did I mention already that I was thrilled to win this? And I will display my award proudly in my sidebar. Thanks, Mary, this made my week!Barb done went and tagged me while my back was turned, so I will get to this meme right now.......

1. If you make sweet tea, or your favorite style, do you use Luzianne, Lipton, or something else?

I use Luzianne most, Lipton occasionally, or mix them. And it must be sweet. I sometimes use half sugar and half Equal to sweeten my ice tea. For hot tea I love Earl Grey, and I drink it most when it's really cold or when I'm sick. A cup of hot tea can be so comforting, I think.

2. What brand of toilet paper do you buy and is the larger rolls or regular?

O-kaaaaay....I don't know why anybody would want to know this, but I buy Scott tissue and as far as I know they only make th
e larger rolls. I buy it because it lasts longer for us.

3. What brand of bath soap do you use? Body wash or bar?

I use Softsoap For Men, Active body wash, Ocean Fresh. Yes, I know it's supposed to be for men, but I like fresh scent. An occasional treat is Vitabath Spring Green bath gelee. It's pricey and I don't usually buy it for myself, but Cecil or Ducky get it for me sometimes for my birthday or a special occasion. Hubby uses Irish Spring original bar soap, and occasionally I switch to another for a while but I always come back to the Irish Spring. I love the fresh smell.

4. What cereal do you buy for yourself?

I like original Cheerios, Rice Crispies (bought a box of each today), shredded wheat, Honeycomb, and Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds. I eat a few more here and there for variety, but those are the basics.

5. What brand of dishwasher detergent do you buy? Liquid or tabs?

Other than the two dishwashers on the ends of my and hubbies' arms, I don't have one. As for dishwashing liquid, I use Palmolive Oxy Plus Alpine Purity, or Oxy Plus with Bleach Alternative.

6. What's your favorite fruit?

I love most fruit. Strawberries and peaches are probably my favorites, though, and they have to be fresh and sweet and juicy. Homegrown is best.

7. Which brand of laundry detergent do you use?

Gain original powder and liquid softener and dryer sheets. That is all. Nothing else.

8. Do you like chocolate?

I eat chocolate occasionally, but it is almost never my first choice. I'd rather have pastries, or plain cheesecake, or fruit. Just not my thing, and I never craved it when I still hosted the monthly visitor. (By the way, I highly recommend hysterectomies to those of you whose childbearing days are behind you.)

9. Are you right or left-handed?

Right for writing. Left for opening jars and some other tasks.

10. Do you still write checks or use a debit card?

Both. Mostly write checks, though.
I'm back from my camping trip, obviously. I had a great time, but there will definitely be at least two additions to the next trip. An air mattress and a lawn chair. 42 Year-old fat women should NOT sleep on the ground. Or sit on unpadded picnic tables. Nuff said? I'm still working on downloading pictures for a post about my trip, plus I have 3 disposable cameras to get developed at Walmart. I'll try to get a post about my trip done Wednesday or possibly Thursday. Donna and I will probably go camping again this weekend, just us two girls, or possibly us and one of her friends. More as the situation develops. Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post and for your well-wishes for a nice trip. It was wonderful, and I'll tell you more about it soon.

I can't believe you're up for another camping trip so soon. Sleeping outside once is enough for me!

Glad you're back and had a good time!

Ditto on the two previous comments! I hope you can find an air mattress. It should make a big difference.

When I still hosted the monthly visitor just cracked me up. You make it sound like a party or something. Praise God for hysterectomies. I agree with you there and have for over 20 years.

Tha post deserved this award, it was so funny. I know it wasn't funny to you but you created this picture in my mind that won't go away and I'm sorry but I'm laughing. Personally, I've fallen maybe twice in my life and once was down a flight of stairs. Landed really really hard on my rear end and bruised my tailbone so bad I couldn't sit down for six weeks. Think about that. It's awful when you have to kind of sit on the SIDE of your rear end for all those weeks. Awful.

Camping without a comfortable place to sit and sleep is miserable so good for you taking an air mattress and a lawn chair this weekend. Sounds like you girls are having a blast and I can't wait to see the photos.

I don't think I've ever met two people who weren't chocoholics in one day! Amazing. You and Barb.

Next time I use my dishwasher I'll be more appreciative of it. You deserve it more than me, honestly because you cook about 10 times as much as I do. Your comment on camping equipment additions cracked me up. xoxo

Did you know 'Smorgasbord' is a Swedish word? In Norwegian it means 'butter bread table'.
Nice list and a great way to learn more about you:-)
Looking forward to hear more about your trip - keep us posted!
