Last Update On Lamar's Eye

Emmy just went to sleep with Winnie the Pooh and Lamar's resting on our bed, so I have time to post an update on Lamar's surgery checkup.

After the patch was removed, the eye specialist says that Lamar's eye looks good, but now a bubble has developed in the eye where the needle was inserted. The Dr. hopes that the bubble will resolve on its own before Lamar goes back for his next appointment in 4 weeks.

Lamar has a tiny bottle of very expensive antibiotic drops (thank you Lord for our insurance and $3 copay!) that he has to use in his left eye 4 times a day until they're gone to guard against infection. His eye looks awful, all red and bloodshot and swollen, but the Dr. says everything looks good to him, praise the Lord!

There's been no miraculous restoration of Lamar's sight. He says he can't tell any real difference yet, but the Dr. says as the eye heals and the swelling goes down that Lamar should see improvement in his vision.

We're certainly hoping and praying for restored vision for Lamar's eye, and we thank each and every one of you that are supporting us and praying with us. Now once again it's a time of waiting on the Lord, as so much of this journey with Lamar's eye has been.

I'll keep you all informed if anything new develops and if Lamar's vision improves or is totally restored, which we're praying will happen, if it's God's Will.

Now, I'm off to answer some emails and maybe play some of my farming games on Facebook before Emmy awakes. I'm almost sure there's a tea party planned for this afternoon after a certain little lady gets her beauty nap. ;-)

Y'all have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend. See you on Saturday evening for my Sunday Dinner post. And right now I have absolutely no idea what I'm serving for Sunday Dinner.

Diane, I'm praying that all goes well with Lamar's eye. I bet things will be better when all the swelling goes down.

He's a trooper! I know that if I get the slightest thing in my eye, it can drive me batty!

Have a great week-end!

Love, Vikki.

I'm glad that the surgery is over and the doctor feels it went well. Now you just have to give the eye time to heal. Waiting is so hard.

I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello Diane,
I'm sorry I missed reading about Lamar's surgery, but I'll be praying for a good recovery.
God is good!

Diane, I am sure it is too early for Lamar to tell any difference... The swelling has to go down and the lens has to heal.... I just know that things will get better....Still praying for Lamar....and you of course.

It is hard waiting, isn't it! I am still praying it will be a good result once it has settled down, Diane.

Dear Diane, please know that I have been praying for Lamar as he's gone through the surgery for his eye. I read all the updates on your facebook but just didn't get a chance to comment. I remember after I had eye surgery when I was 8 years old (I was cross eyed and the surgery was to straighten out my eye), when I took the patch off my eye was bloody red for quite a few days, yet the dr kept saying how good it looked! lol Keeping Lamar in my prayers. xoxo
