Happy Birthday, Jessica & Hayride Pics

On this day 21 years ago, at 3:o3 am, Jessica Rose Jennings McKellar came into this world, and my world was changed forever and for the better.

That's Jessica's newborn hospital photo on the left, and she's almost 3 years old in the pic on the right.

I'm amazed at how much Emmy favors her Mama, and you can check out JESSICA'S LATEST BLOG POST to compare for yourself.

Emmy not only looks like Jessica at the same age, she also has many of Jessica's mannerisms. It's almost like watching Jessica grow up all over again.

This graduation photo of Jessica is one of my favorites.

I stole this pic on the right from Jessica's blog post today, so I'm not sure exactly when it was taken, but I know it was pretty recent, maybe yesterday. She'll probably share with us in the comments when it was taken.

It's hard for me wrap my head around the fact that my baby girl is 21 years old. It doesn't seem possible that it's 21 years since Dr. Parten laid that squirming, squalling little thing on my belly and I fell instantly and forever in love with her.

Happy 21st birthday, my beautiful daughter.
I hope it's the best one ever,
and that you'll live happily ever after.

I also want to wish my sisters Ducky
and Susie a very happy birthday too.

That's right, Jessica, Susie and Ducky
all share the same birthday, different years. As I mentioned last week, Lamar, Jessica, Jason,
Emmy and I went to a wienie roast
and on a hayride with my church family.

This is the one and only pic I got of Emmy
before she bobbed for apples and all her
makeup washed off.

She started off the evening as a cat,
but as it got cooler Jessica dressed her
in a footed fleece snow-suit type thingy. This is my sister CECIL as a blonde doctor,
and one of our church friends dressed as
Velma from the Scooby Doo show. This is another of my cutting edge
self portraits of me and Lamar. And this is Lamar. I'd like to say he's
clowning for the camera, but this
he's truly just being himself. Here we are on the hay ride, and Jessica
and Emmy were a little surprised by the
camera flash. We were out in the middle
of nowhere, with no street lights.I like this pic of me and Emmy that Jessica took.Wanna see my tonsils? Okay, here ya go.
Jessica took this just as I opened my
mouth to say something to her.

And in the interest of full disclosure, I have
to confess that I'm the proud owner of not
one, but TWO pics of my tonsils,
almost exactly alike.

Envy me, y'all. Our faithful driver for the evening,
and the little tractor that could - and did!Wanna see a closeup of Jessica's
and Jason's nostrils?

Okay, here ya go.
Jessica took this one and all
the ones I'm in with Emmy. And one last one of me and Emmy.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself on our hayride. The ride took about an hour, give or take, and the weather was perfect. Just cool enough that the bonfire for our wienie roast felt good, and our jackets were welcome, but not so cold that we couldn't enjoy the evening.

It was clear night and I even saw a falling star. It was glorious and I wish I could have taken you all with us for the evening.

Emmy loved the hay ride and was so excited! As a matter of fact, she was so excited that she wore herself out and fell asleep in my arms about halfway through the ride. She didn't wake up until we were back where we started and got off the trailer. This post is already so long that I'm going to save the pics from my camping trip for another post. I'll try to get that done tomorrow or maybe Wednesday. I also have a product review I want to share with you, and a book review in a week or so after I have a chance to read it and really check it out.

Y'all have a great Monday evening and Tuesday.

Diane, our kids grow up soooo fast. Mine are 30, 29 in six days, and 26 years old. Jessica and Emily really do favor a lot...

Happy Birthday miss Jessica and to your sisters....My sister and I have the same birthday, just two years apart....My cousin was born on the same day too, but he is three years older than me. Amazing.

The hay ride looks like it was a lot of fun. I'm glad all of you had a good time. Miss Emily looks like a cute little kitten....I loved reading all of this...Thanks.

Diane,

How nice that you got to go camping with your sister. I am looking forward to the photos.

Happy Birthday to Jessica. Time sure does fly. I can't imagine that Michelle will be 40 in February. That knocks my socks off and those boys...seems like yesterday they were babies and now they're 11 and 13.

Enjoyed the photos of the hay ride. A shooting star brings good luck.

Take care, my friend and have a great week.

Blessings,
Mary

Happy Birthday, Jessica, Susie and Ducky! I love all the photos, Diane! And i am glad you survived the camping too. I can't wait to see the photos!

Emmy is very like her Mum - you are right. I have no idea where the time goes either. How can I have a 31year old son??? Not to mention the others following closely behind. Sigh.
Have a great day - I am watching the news of the election with great interest here.

It looks like a wonderful time together with the family - both blood and church.

I can't believe so many birthdays on the same day. I have to say that Jessica hasn't changed much since she was 3 - amazing!

I read that you also had a birthday on Oct. 23rd....so Happy belated Birthday to you! I read it on Cecil's blog. Sorry I missed wishing you that on your actual birthday. Forgive me? I hate it that I can't blog every day!

What a fun time the hayride was! I remember going on those when I was in high school...oh, my gosh!!! That was so-ooo long ago!

Emmy is darling in her pics! I can see why you love her so much! She's a lucky little girl to have such a loving family! I have and will continue to pray for good news after her tests tomorrow. Dear little thing....it's so hard when they get sick like that.

Jessica's pics are so cute!!! I know exactly how you felt when she was born. It's something we mothers feel, isn't it? And it never leaves us, either.

I am finally getting some time to go down my blog list a little at a time. I have been swamped with work and phone calls from "snowbirds" looking for winter rentals in FL. When your phone number is posted on a website, it does ring at all hours!

It's good to touch cbase again with you! I may not be able to blog every day, but that doesn't mean that I didn't think about you, cause I did.

Have a good week! Anxious to see your camping pics next! I love camping myself.

I think it's so neat that my little granddaughter was born on Jessica's birthday! hehe I think Jess was pretty thrilled about that too! lol Your daughter is beautiful and it's no wonder you are so proud of her, she's got a heart of gold.

I so enjoyed the pictures from the hayride...even the one showing your tonsils! LOL Oh Diane, you crack me up! lol

So good to hear what the doctor had to say about Emmy...who says the power of prayer doesn't work:-) xoxo

What a lovely time. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I went on one hay ride in my life when I was a little girl. There was about a foot and a half of snow on the ground and the temp was about 20 degrees. I crawled beneath the hay and fell asleep, maybe from hypothermia. I thought I was going to freeze to death.
I'm glad you had a warmer evening so you could enjoy it.
Take care Diane.
Hugs!
