Can you believe it? This is the last Sunday Dinner post of 2007. Where has this year gone?
Sunday Dinner this week, if prepared by yours truly, will consist of chicken in some form. I have a whole chicken thawing as I type this and if we come back here for Sunday Dinner I'll decide how I'm going to cook it after I get home from church. That's as far as I've gotten in my menu planning and preparation.
I know Cecil won't be here for dinner because she has a date with her hubby. As far as I know right now my sister Ducky will be here and possibly her granddaughter Genna, and me and Lamar. We may even decide to eat out somewhere instead of coming back here to cook. Who knows?
What are your plans for Sunday Dinner? Just share your plans/menu in the comments if you want to participate. This week between Christmas and New Year's has been filled with multiple Saturdays and Sundays. With Christmas falling on Tuesday it has made the whole week seem like one continuous holiday/weekend. And with New Year's day on Tuesday again, next week will feel the same way. Am I the only one feeling this way?I'm still working on my awards page. I have the page done, but can't get my button I've made to link to the actual page. I've done other linked buttons with no problem, like the one to my recipe blog. I don't know why it's not working for me now. I know it's something I'm not doing right. I worked on it for over 2 hours the other night and finally got so disgusted and frustrated with it that I just quit and put it aside until later. Maybe by the time I try to work on it again I'll have it figured out.I have some pictures that were taken on Christmas day at Jessica and Jason's house. The first one is of my sister Ducky, Emmy and Cecil. The rest are of Emmy enjoying her first Christmas. At only 7½ months old, Emmy was much more interested in eating the wrapping paper, tissue and ribbon than in the actual contents of the packages. Next Christmas is sure to be much more enjoyable for her when she figures out that the stuff INSIDE the packages is for her!
Notice Emmy's "My First Christmas" outfit?Emmy is still teething, still has a runny nose and still cranky at times. She's running a fever off and on and Jessica is giving her Ty*lenol and ibuprofen per doctor's orders. She doesn't feel bad all the time. She has good days and bad days. Even from time to time during the day and night she's better or worse. I'll just be so thankful when she's well again, bless her.Supper tonight was homemade deer chili. I made a double batch in my big Dutch oven so there would be some leftovers for later. Not for me, for Lamar or to freeze for later. Of course I ate my one bowl full and haven't looked to see how much Lamar left in the pot. I know he went back for at least one refill so there might not be as much left as I thought. I think that's it for now. I do want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2008!
Y'all have a good last Sunday of 2007. May God bless you with all you need, and enough to share.

Good Evening Diane,
I'm not sure what I'm cooking for our Sunday Dinner yet either. We went and bought groceries this afternoon and I did buy 3 boxes of Frozen Pizza's. It was the Red Barron kind and they were 3 for $10.00. I fixed 2 different kinds for supper tonight. Hubby and the girls ate the pizza but I had left over Cold Fried Chicken that hubby had brought home last night. It sure taste's good cold. Ain't nuthin' better than Cold Fried Chicken. We may bologna sandwhiches or whatever they can find to eat for tomorrow. LOL. I will be cooking my Black-Eyes Peas on New Year's Eve. I have a ham hock that my Mom brought up to me on Christmas Eve. I put it in the freezer and will put it in the peas to cook. I also bought a head of cabbage today. It was 3lbs. for a $1.00. I may cook it on New Year's or not. It just depends on how I'm feeling. I will make some homemade Buttermilk Cornbread to go with our peas. That in itself is a good meal. I have done one load of laundry tonight. The girls were needing some clean jeans to wear for tomorrow. Miss Emmy looks so adorable especially in her "First Christmas" outfit. I so remember those days. I bought our girls all kinds of stuff with the "First" of whatever Holiday it was. I bought bottles, bibs, and clothes. I remember our girls wanting to put the paper in their mouths and playing with the bows too. Our youngest Daughter always wanted to put the bows on top of her head. Cherish each and every moment of her because one day you will wake up and she will be grown. They grow up way too fast for me. It seems like yesterday we were bringing them home from the hospital. "THANK YOU" for sharing your Christmas and Family with us. I so enjoyed it. I haven't even worked on my page yet to put my Awards in. I'm just not in the mood I guess. LOL. I've had deer chilli before and it is good. That's the best kind of chilli there is I do believe. Well, take care my friend and have a great evening and Sunday. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
Dear Diane,
I caught a cold while in KY and am not feeling too purt! I'm thinking a bowl of chicken noodle soup tomorrow will probably hit the spot.
Manda took some good shots of me with the grands, I'll email them to ya later. I enjoyed seeing Miz Emmy...she is growing like a weed!
Have a great weekend!
Love & Hugs,
Tammy
We'll probably go out for Sunday dinner.
Emmy looks really sweet with your sister.
Thanks for the nice comment about my fur-babies. Believe me Jybow would catch a bird if she only could, but a squirrel is just too big for her to tangle with.
I received that joke this afternoon in an email from California and thought I'd get it up before the holiday season was over with which won't be long.
And Diane...everyday has seemed like Sunday to us for a week.
Soon it will be 2008...another year has passed and I hope all the best for your family this coming NEW YEAR.
Babies are just so sweet especially at Emmy's age.
I forgot to mention that our living room has two boxes and a large gift bag on the floor that our cats are having a great time playing in and on top of. They're left over from Christmas and are the cats favorite toys for the time being.
When my kids were little they'd toss away the toys and play with the empty boxes. It got so that we would make houses for them out of cardboard boxes and they would have the best time playing in them along with tents made out of our bedspreads, sheets & blankets. Those were the days.
Emmy seemed to have a happy and fun Christmas day
Praying for Emmy hope those teeth come soon
Happy New Years Diane

Miss Emmy sure looks happy! But you're right - next year will be the great Christmas when she discovers the toys and stuff.
I think we might be going out for dinner tonight. We got a whole bunch of restaurant gift cards as a present from Donna.
Happy New Year to you and yours!
And the happiest of New Years to you too, sweetie! :o)
Emmy just blew up the cute meter! LOL
Meatloaf and mashed potatoes here!
What happened to the chicken? Is this a cliff hanger?
Hello dearest Diane:-) It's slow going trying to catch up with everyones news but I'm getting there! lol Oh my goodness, I can't tell you enough how much I enjoyed looking at all the pictures of Emmy from your last couple of posts...she's so adorable and look at that smile! I must also say that Jessica has the most beautiful eyes! I remember when my boys were that age for their first Christmas...they had more fun playing with the bows and boxes! lol For Sunday dinner tonight I have no idea what I'll be making...probably leftovers! xoxo
Well, my Sunday dinner consisted of hospital chef salad and chicken noodle soup....mmmmmmm!!
Just wanted to stop in and say "hi". It's been awhile since I've been around. Hope you had a great Christmas and have a happy New Year!
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!
Emmy just keeps getting cuter and cuter! It seems like she was just born and now look at her.
ummmmmmmm
I love chicken.
My Daddy wanted fried yard bird every Sunday. I think it's Biblical or something... lol

Diane,
Loved seeing Emmy in her Christmas outfit!
I was sort of in your neighborhood over the weekend, as we were in Memphis for the Liberty Bowl. You probably heard our cowbells ringing up in Bay. :)
Good Morning Diane,
I'm just dropping by to let you know that I have Tagged you. When you have time, stop by and get the directions. I hope you will participate. Take care my friend and have a great Monday. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
Diane, Emily always seem to have a smile on her face....Sunday dinner for us was meat cooked in the crock pot, steamed collard greens and wild rice. I love steamed veggies...Have a Happy New Year.
Oh, yes, next year will be even more fun!
Lordy, that Emmy gets cuter all the time!!!
I wish you a very Happy, Blessed, and Healthy New Year Diane!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND TOASTS TO YOU, DIANE! :D
Hi Diane. I didn't have anything to brag about for my Sunday dinner. Just a chicken salad.
Emmy sure has a winning smile. Wasn't it fun to watch her with her first Christmas? I took lots of pictures of my new great grandbabies on CHristmas day. They have discovered each other and it was so fun to watch them!
I pray you have a blessed 2008!
hugs.
Oh! That Emmy! I know you all enjoyed watching her with the wrappings. etc. this year.
The end of 2007 ia almost upon us--two more hours as I write this! What a year! I know you will always remember it fondly because of Emmy!
One of the best things for me in 2007--which had more than its share of difficult situations for our family--has been meeting so many new friends through blogging1 You are a bright spot for me, diane. I really enjoy visiting you and hearing about your family and activities--especially Sunday dinner and Emmy! Thank you for your sweet and kind comments!
Wishing you and yours a Happy new year!
Happy 2008!!
Love you!
We went out for steaks at a local steakhouse for Sunday dinner. It is a favorite place for us to eat.
Your comments about how the days all seem like weekend days between these mid-week holidays makes me think of my own calendar as a retired person. It has Sunday, followed by six Saturdays. Some of those Saturdays have more things open than some of the others but otherwise they are all about the same.
Happy New Year!
I am having a bit of covet for the grandbabies--I've been to about 4 places with pictures, and then my cousin sent a whole photo album for me to sigh over.
My sons are too busy with Grad school and paying the rent to even think about beginning a family.
Someday though, someday.....
Until then, I take a turn in the church nursery for a couple hours, and then give the littles back to their rested up moms.
~~love and Huggs, MrsDoF
Happy 2008! Found you from Renny's blog :) Kristie in Norway
Happy & Blessed New Year Diane.
What a cutie Emmy is in her Christmas dress. I know you love her much.
HAPPY NEW YEAR DIANE! THE BABY PHOTOS WERE FUN TO SEE AGAIN!!:)
ain't she cute!
Goodnight Moon.....love that book! Sonshine reads(recites) it frequently!! :-)
have a blessed year
OH and whenever the stinking small town post office decides to once again stock the correct sized mailer envelopes there's a little some-something waiting for you. ("We weren't prepared for Chirstmas...") I just almost replied "Well, it did come at an unexpected time this year!"
:-P
I so have NOT been cooking lately (or blogging for that matter) - I'm just tired of food. I've eaten way too much and don't want to even see it now. How long can I feed the kids cereal for dinner?
Hi Diane,
I'm back and trying desperately to catch up with everyone. I love the Christmas pictures. What a sweet little one - her outfit is just precious.
Hope all is well. I send love and wishes for a blessed new year.
