Sunday Dinner, October 21, 2007 & Emmy Pics

****Due to Blogger's problems with uploading photos,
this post won't have my Sunday Dinner button, page
dividers or the pictures of Emmy I took today and wanted
to share. If Blogger technicians get the problem fixed
in a reasonable amount of time I'll come back later
and add my pictures to this post.

Boy, it looks bare without pictures, doesn't it?****

Another Autumn week has flown by and it's time for my Sunday Dinner post again. Can you believe it?

So here's the deal: I have a whole chicken thawed and ready to cook but I'm not sure exactly what I want to do to it. I also have a box of Rice*A*Roni and a couple of cans of green beans setting on the counter. I'm also not sure what the sisters have planned for Sunday Dinner.

Here's what I'm going to do: Nothing.

I'm going to wait until after church tomorrow and see what the sisters want to do regarding our Sunday Dinner. If they want to go out and eat somewhere that will be totally hunky as well as quite dory with me. If not, I'll decide how I want to cook the clucker when we get back here and it can be cooking while I'm preparing the rice and green beans. If I don't cook the chicken for Sunday Dinner I can always fix it for Monday's supper.

Now, what are your plans for Sunday Dinner? Just share your menu or plans in the comments if you want to participate this week.

Lamar is on his way home right now on Amtrak and should be here around 3 am if the train is on time. I think he's ready to get home, and I know I'm ready for him to BE home.

I kept Emmy this afternoon while Jessica and Jason worked on the house they're going to move into and ran some errands. Miss Emmy is feeling better but still not quite her usual sunny self. It has a lot to do with her runny nose and congestion. It's next to impossible to nurse her bottle when she can't breathe through her nose, bless her heart. Thankfully it's better sometimes so she can actually breathe and eat. She's coughing too, and we're hoping that will help her clear all that junk out of her lungs and head.

Most of the time she was here she was in a good mood so I took a lot of pictures. I wanted to post some of them but Blogger is being a booger and won't let me upload pictures all of a sudden. I didn't have any problem uploading several pictures on my last post on Friday evening. Lately I've read on several of your blogs that some of you haven't been able to upload pictures but this is the first time I've gotten an error message when I tried to add pictures to this post. Hopefully Blogger will get this issue resolved soon.

I know some people don't add any pictures at all to their posts and that's fine. Whatever floats your boat and all that. But personally I like pictures and think they add visual interest to a post. I miss not being able to upload pictures to my blog.

I have some more news regarding Miss Emmy. She finally has a tooth! Her lower right front tooth finally came through the gums, and let me tell you brother, she knows how to use it!

She's also rolling from front to back and back to front. This girl is rolling like a gator! Gone are the days of leaving her somewhere and coming back to find her in the same place. Those days are far behind us now. She's getting up on all fours and rocking some but not quite getting the hang of how to maneuver to crawl just yet. It won't be long, though, then look out!

I made a big pot of homemade chili and a cast iron skillet of homemade cornbread for supper. Jessica and Jason helped me eat it and we washed it down with sweet iced tea. I have enough chili left to freeze for another meal for me and Lamar and the leftover cornbread will go into the freezer to use when I make chicken and dressing again.

And with that I'm going to (hopefully!) publish this post and study my Sunday School lesson then hit the hay before too awful late.

I pray God's richest blessings on each of you, dear friends and family. May God meet all your needs and may you have enough to share.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Hi there. I hope you're having a chance to rest.

I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be chicken once again. Found some boneless, skinless breasts on sale (should make Ray's doctor happy - they're on the approved list).

And I think I'll bake an acorn squash and maybe do some frozen mixed winter veggies.

Or I might change my mind completely.

(No recent news on Carmen but she was doing a little better as of last night).

Hi Diane ~~ My sympathy to you and Lamar on the loss of his father.
I hope little Emmy is feeling better
maybe the tooth coming through upset
her a bit. I am a little early but would like to wish you a very Happy
Birthday for the 23rd and to you both a very Happy Anniversary for the 25th. I hope Lamar gets home in time for both celebrations. Take care, Love, Merle.

So very happy to hear Emmy's doing better. I know grandma's love is good medicine.

I love having and seeing pictures on blogs. It is fun to have graphics along with whatever topic you address.

Have a wonderful Sunday.
Hugs,
Connie

Diane - I just love your posts! It's like you're sitting right here in the room with me.

I'm glad that Emmy is feeling better. Sounds like she's going to be taking off soon. I remember those days when my girls first started to crawl! Susan always crawled on her hands and toes with her rump in the air. Her knees never touched the ground.

Hope you have a great day.

And in case you don't post on Tuesday, Happy Birthday!

Wow, that is some seriously good news - that's like getting a huge raise when you don't have to pay for daycare!

Glad Lamar will be home soon. I trust Jason will get a job soon - and my SIL as well!

We're going to eat with Barb and her gang in about and hour and 15 minutes - nothing fancy because there are so many of us and it'd be awfully pricey! I'm so embarrassed to say that she called me yesterday afternoon and when she said, "This is Barb," I brilliantly countered with "Barb who??" OH, brother, just the Barb I'd been waiting to meet for several months now! What a ditz I am. She just didn't sound like I thought she would!

We got snow this morning - but nothing's sticking because it was 80 yesterday!

Adding pic's to a blogger on Blogger - well I do know how that can be. But a blog without pictures...

Love your recipes. We will come back with some from Norway during the Winter.

Have a great week to come

Oh my goodness, teeth already! It seems like time passes so quickly for these little babies and all of a sudden that first year is history. My youngest grandbaby will be a year next month and it just doesn't seem possible.

Leftovers are the menu for tonight I believe, and we picked up some Coffee Heath ice cream - don't babies just look adorable with just that one little tooth! xoxo

Miss Emmy has a tooth. Congratulations, Miss Emmy. I imagine she knows how to use it perfectly.

Enjoyed your post and am happy to know that Lamar will be home soon. That must make you very happy.

I haven't had any trouble uploading photos today, but on Friday night I had a LOT of trouble and a little yesterday. Hope this clears up soon.

Have a wonderful week.

Hope Lamar got home safely. Now he can catch up on his rest.

Emmy has a tooth!! Ahhh!!!

My Sunday dinner was at Ruby Tuesday's. I had the salad bar, sauteed mushrooms, and 2 mini burgers.

Hello dear Diane:-) Finally catching up with all your news! I had KFC last night for dinner...greasy but so good! lol Gosh, Miss Emmy has her first tooth and is rolling around all over...sigh, they sure do grow up so fast, seems like only yesterday she was born!! Blogger says they're aware of the problem for uploading pictures...I just keep trying and it eventually works so that's why I'm able to post pictures! Good thing I have lots of patience! lol How wonderful that Jessica has found a job at the daycare center where Emmy goes. Hopefully Lamar made it home safely, it has been a long week for him for sure! xoxo

That kind of problem with Blogger & photos is why I like to keep mine on Flickr and just call them into the post on B. It seems to always work and I haven't had the problem of having to eliminate some of the old photos to gain enough room for new ones that some friends have told me about.

Our food this weekend was almost all eating in, except for breakfast on Sat. We need to clean out the freezer! But we fly out for Hawaii Wed and although we are staying in a condo so will have a full kitchen, I expect that we will eat most meals out, especially lunches. Maybe we will go to a Luau next Sunday!

I'm glad to catch up with you today...we had a huge breakfast buffet and then rode around looking at the fall foliage...we ate enough to last us the rest of the day...lol!

I'm thinking Miz Emmy will soon be better now that she has cut a tooth, or not depending if there is another about to break through...seriously try the Vics salve...it might help...

Freezing left over cornbread...why didn't I think of that????

Have a wonderful day!!

Hi Diane,
I'm just trying to get caught up on all you news. I haven't visited as much, but I have been praying for all of you. I'm excited about Jessica's job and the rent house for them. I'll continue to pray that Jason finds something soon.
I'm glad Emmy is getting better. Poor thing. I can remember trying to give a bottle to a stuffed up baby. Not much fun for anyone - especially the little one.
I pray you're all feeling lots better soon.
It was so nice to read your posts Diane. Congrats on the award.
You're a very special lady in my book!

Hi Diane,

I'm home. Good grief, I'm tired, but I'm home. Still sick, too. But Krissy and Cameron and I made it through this whirlwind weekend.

It sounds like everything is coming back together for Jason and Jessica. I'm so glad. And I'm glad the baby is better. Poor thing. She was cutting a tooth at the same time she had this ear infection and the awful cold. Sounds like she and I have the same kind of cold. It's taking forever to get over it. I'd be willing to bet she's handling it better than I am. Babies are tough. I'm not. LOL

I'm glad Lamar is home (this is late Monday I'm commenting here). I know this was a really tough week for him (and you) and it's just better to be together again.

It's a little scary that the "new" blogger is starting to have problems now, isn't it? I thought those days were behind us. I totally agree with you. I love to post photos. A post without photos seems like it's missing something. So I hope we don't start having those issues on a regular basis again.

Sounds like things are getting much better around there, on several levels. I'm so glad to hear that.

I'm sure this new week will be better for all of you than last week was.

xoxo

Hi Diane,

The past several weeks have been very busy for me, but I'm slowing getting caught up with all of your family's news! I'm thankful to hear about Jessica's job and that Emmy is feeling better. I was sorry to read about the death of Lamar's daddy. May God's mercy, peace and grace comfort and sustain you both.

Happy Birthday, Diane! Are you telling me that grandbabies grow as fast as our own babies? Not fair!

I was just checking out a map to Barb's to see if you're on the way from here to there. I know you want to meet her as much as I do. Wouldn't that be a fun road trip?

I am trying to catch up on blog reading tonight, and see that you have been through a fair amount of strife lately. I'm sorry to hear about Lamar's father. Hope the situation keeps improving for Jessica and her family.

Got a laugh out of the title for one of your posts: Stuff. Yep, sometimes that is the best available word. I wonder if we'll ever run out of post titles completely.
