Whew ! ! !

Yes, I do realize it's been almost a week since I posted. No, nothing is wrong, it's just been a perfect storm of camping trip, recovering from camping trip, visiting with Cecil and Sue and a teething Emmy. She's not been terribly sick or fussy but she's running a low grade fever off and on and she's been a bit more demanding than usual the last several days.

I have so many things I want to post that I'm going to have to break it into several smaller posts rather than 1 megapost. I'm going to save the camping trip pictures and post about it in a day or two.

I've got some pics of Emmy to share (of course!) and two of my blogging buds have sent Emmy and me some great things that I want to share with you.

***Because I have so many pics to share
I made them smaller than usual.
Click on any of them to enlarge them.***

CONNIE sent a package that arrived last Friday just before I left for my camping trip so I didn't get to post pictures before I left.

There are two
outfits and a picture frame that sweet Connie sent, plus a pretty notepad that I somehow managed to leave out of the picture.

The floral onesy and capri set is still a little too big for her, but the bloomer set fits well, as you can see from the next picture.

Jessica hadn't seen either of these outfits so I put the bloomer set on Emmy for these pics and sent some of the pics to Jessica at work on instant messenger.

Jessica's reaction? "Where did that adorable outfit come
from?!" I told her that it was sent by my dear blogging friend CONNIE and Jessica told me to be sure to pass on her thanks and to tell her how much she likes the outfits for Emmy.

So Connie, THANK YOU from Jessica, Jason, me and especially Emmy. It's official: everybody who's seen Emmy in this outfit thinks it's about the cutest thing they've seen lately, including me. And YES, I am biased. Grandmas are supposed to be biased toward their grandkids, it's in the bylaws.Another dear blogging friend sent a package that arrived on Monday and I want to share what my friend JENNY @ PRAIRIE FARMERESS was gracious enough to send me. Jenny is a lover of all things old and handmade, and is an accomplished artist and crafter in her own right.

Jen sent me several old crocheted and tatted doilies and some wonderful pieces of fabric for sewing and crafts.

She also sent a snowsuit for
Emmy, but she's going to have to grow some before she can wear it. But it's almost 100*F here so I'm thinking she's got plenty of time to grow into that snowsuit before it actually gets cold enough to snow around here.

My favorite thing that Jen sent is a handmade and crafted brag book that Jen made for me. It opens accordion style and Jen decorated it with stamps and stickers. It's personalized for me and Emmy and I absolutely adore it, Jen. Jessica loved it too but I fought her off it. ;-)

Thank you so much for everything, Jen! I love it all, but I'll treasure the brag book most of all.The next several pics of me and Emmy were taken by my sister Cecil on Tuesday when she and my sister Sue were here visiting.

As you can see Miss Emmy is growing like a weed. She's already outgrown most of her newborn-3 month size clothes and is now wearing mostly 3-6 month size. She probably weighs around 13 pounds, give or take a few ounces.

I'm just going to post several pics then do my goodbyes at the end of the pictures.I've entitled that last picture, "My, Granny, what big eyes you have!" ;-)I think that's quite enough for one post. I'll try to get my post on our camping trip done on Thursday, but please, nobody hold your breath. I don't want to be responsible for anybody's asphyxiation if I don't manage to get it done on Thursday.

I still have to bathe Emmy, take a shower myself and find something for my dinner/supper.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

She's cute as a button Diane. But we might be a little biased as you said.I'm still recovering from the trip, I think I lost about 5 lbs in fluid. I hope I don't gain it back.
Kiss the youngin for me. I'm tired and gonna rest.
Love you sister.

It does take a while to recover after any kind of vacation, doesn't it?

And that baby grand daughter of yours is truly one of the cutest I've ever seen (and since I'm a mom to two girls, that's saying quite a bit!)

What sweet blogging friends you have- those are wonderful gifts! :)

How wonderful to get all those nice things from blogging friends. Doesn't that make you feel absolutely great? That little outfit is adorable and let me tell you, so is that baby. She's got the most adorable smile.

My whole world changed today. I'm going to have Cameron five days a week, indefinitely. Nancy's husband was diagnosed with colon cancer this morning. He's only 42 years old and they're all in shock. He's having surgery today to remove a large tumor and see how far it's spread. Meantime, Cameron will be here with me until Nancy figures out what she's going to do.

So don't apologize about your posting schedule. I suspect I'm getting ready to jump right into that boat with you. :-)

Hi Diane! Who am I and where did I pop in from? :-) Well I just read your comment in PEA's wonderful entry, on a returning soldier. And you said that your hometown has a large group of soldiers in Iraq now.

I wonder if you and people in your hometown write to them? I've read {in a soldier's blog} that the best snail mail is from people they know. And even if you dont' know each one personally, you can tell them of stuff going on, in your/their home town. And kind of let them know what they're fighting for... to protect that which is pretty personal.

I grew up in a wee little town but now live in a city. The sound of you saying, "hometown" sounds sooo nice to me.

Hi an Bye, and be well and hugs to you and to yours,
Mari-Nanci

What beautiful presents Diane. I love all things old too. Those are just treasures.
I hope Emmy is feeling better. It's hard being a little one sometimes - all that teething and stuff.

I am new here but have had fun reading through many posts and getting to know you! I found you via Tammy, Susie and Pea...: )

Emmy is just a doll and I know you are over the moon about her! So precious.

It is hard to get over a vacation! The unpacking alone is awful! I swear the clothes multiply when it is time to wash them!

I will be back soon!

What wonderful friends you have! Those are some awesome goodies! LOVE that bloomer set! I'll say it again, that cutie pie looks like her mamaw... When you are holding her, you are holding my Rosie's birth weight. She was 13 lbs. 3 1/2 oz. and 24" long. :o)

Oh it is just wonderful that your church is supporting your soldiers in lovely ways. I think it's just wonderful, when this happens. And I bet it happens more, in small towns. No, I suppose I shouldn't say that. But, small towns are closer knit.

My heart goes out to your pastor's wife's brother... May he come home safe again. And gratitude to his whole family. Families of military, also serve.

Hugs, Mari-Nanci

Obviously there's a lot of happy love going on around this precious little girl. The new things are nice, and so pretty, but the main thing she's getting is the joy you see reflected from her face.

You and the others are doing a great job raising this kid.
