Look What The Mailman Brought ! !

When Lamar brought in the mail today there was a small package included with the usual junk mail. It so happened that I recognized the return name and address on this package.

Carole from Pea's Corner sent this lovely package all the way from Ontario, Canada! Isn't the box all lovely and baby-ish? It will be just right for keepsakes for Emmy.

Inside the pretty box was a card congratulating me on Emmy's birth and becoming a new grandma, and a little something under some pink gingham tissue paper.

Hmmm....now what could that be??

Awww, what a precious little white bear! And his paws (hands?) are clasped together in prayer. When you press his tummy he says the prayer, "Now I lay me down to sleep..." I think most people are familiar
with that prayer.

The last picture is a closer view of him.

He's adorable, Pea! Thank you so much for sending him. When Emmy is old enough I know she'll love him! Until then Grandma will keep him safely tucked away.

I've talked to Jessica a couple of times today. When Jessica and Emmy visited the breastfeeding consultant on Monday she
was concerned that Jessica might not be producing enough milk for Emmy, so Jessica has started supplementing her breast milk with formula. Emmy is spitting up more than she did with breast milk alone, but so far she's doing pretty good with the formula.

On Thursday Emmy didn't do as well with her feedings. Jessica was a little concerned because Emmy didn't nurse as much as she had been, and then spit up most of what she did take. I called her Thursday evening and Jessica said Emmy's afternoon and evening feedings had went better, so hopefully Emmy isn't sick, just adapting to her new formula.

I know everyone is probably sick of Emmy reports but honestly, there isn't a single blog-worthy thing to share from here in my world.

The weather is gorgeous, though! Sunny and mid-70's through the weekend for us.

I need to be cleaning house and especially my computer room/spare room/Emmy's room, but I just am not in the mood. And I'm not sure when I will be in the mood. Hopefully before Emmy starts high school. Maybe. *Sigh*.....

Lamar will be going to Texas in a few weeks to visit his Dad and brother again, so maybe I'll get something done then, if not before. I am absolutely not making any plans, though. If it happens, it happens. If not, oh well....

If I get inspired I may post something on Friday, but if not I'll be back on Saturday for my Sunday Dinner post. Right now I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing for Sunday Dinner, so I hope to have that settled by the time I do my Sunday Dinner post.

Happy Friday, y'all, and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A sweet bear for a sweet baby!
It sounds like you are worn out! I think you need a little time to rest up before you start a new project! Grandparenting can be hard work!:)

No way could we get tired of hearing about that precious baby. Are you going to be keeping her while Jessica works?

Have a great Friday.

Love and Hugs, Lyndy

Oooooh goodie, you received it safely:-) When I saw that little bear and heard the little childlike voice saying that prayer, of course I couldn't resist buying it for Emmy!! I can't get over the heat you're having over there...no wonder we don't have much over here, you've got it all! hehe I hope Emmy soon gets used to the formula...I remember my youngest one spitting up more than he was drinking the first few weeks and although it was worrisome at first, he settled down just fine afterwards! xoxo

We're not ever going to get tired of your Emmy posts, Diane. Lord help me if people get tired of hearing about my grandbaby. I'd be out of the blog business. LOL

Of course now they get to hear all about diabetes in babies. It's hard to find anything else to talk about when something huge (like a new baby or a new diagnosis) happens in your life.

So post away about Emmy. We love it.

And Pea's gift doesn't surprise me one bit. She's like that, truly sweet and caring.

Congratulations on the fun surprise! Thanks for the great photos, and if you were to stop the Emmy updates, there might very well be mutiny so you'd better keep it up!

I have extensive professional experience with newborn feeding issues. Feel free to email any time. ClemntineATgmailDOTcom.

The cat is still the love of Pixie's life and somewhat the bane of mine, but she hasn't "decorated" the carpet in a while so I guess things are okay for the moment. Thanks for asking.

What a sweet surprise. The bear is adorable. That is so like Pea. She's very special.
It's sometimes a bit tricky to get that feeding "thing" just right. I'm glad to hear she's doing better. I love hearing about Emmy. I can just hear the love in you "voice".
I think you are absolutely entitiled to take a break - a nice long break. You have my permission to ignore all housework for as long as you like.
Have a good weekend Diane.

What a dear friend to send you that lovely designed box containing the adorable prayer bear. A treasure Emmy can keep always. Please continue to let us hear about Emmy. That's what a grandmother's life is all about. I agree with some of the others... rest as you can the house will keep until another time. Have a wonderful weekend !

Yep - they don't call us Grandma for nothing - they kind of define a new part of our lives after they come to us! If others get tired, us grandmas will be sticking together!

The nursing thing is so important - I hope she can get it straightened out so she doesn't hvae to use too much of that very expensive formula. God made it so much better! And handier! And cheaper! But formula is good if the other way doesn't work, don't get me wrong. Care Bear thrived on formula, and Feisty thrived on breast milk.

Rest and have a wonderful week-end! The dirt will still be there, believe me!

I had to get a new computer and am in the process of learning to use it. I have to contact Ken, who made my blog to find out how to post again.(everything is changed!) But I just had to come by your place for a little visit.

Hope everything works out for Jessica and the feedings. That can be so stressful on a new momma. I'll be praying. Have a lovely weekend my friend! Loveya, Jen xxxooo
