Happy Birthday, Seth ! !

Well, it's official. Mikki and Danny are going to have a baby today, one way or another. Mikki's doctor performed an amniocentesis on her today in his office to test baby Seth's lungs for maturity. The test confirmed that Seth's lungs are developed enough for delivery, and Mikki is in the hospital being prepped to have a baby today.

She is scheduled to begin a pitocin drip to induce her labor between 5 and 6 am
Central time. Her doctor has already told her that if she doesn't have a baby by noon he'll do an immediate C-section. If she has any complications along the way a C-section will probably be done then as well. With Mikki's history of high blood pressure we're praying for a safe delivery and a healthy Mama and baby, by whatever method. She'd really like to have a natural delivery, though.

So, I'll be at the hospital all day today, trying to be one of the first ones
to catch a glimpse of my newest great-nephew.

Yes, I have my digital camera in my purse, plus extra batteries. I'm almost done with Seth's afghan that I'm crocheting for him and I'll be taking pictures of that when I finish it. And lots of family pictures and newborn Seth pictures.

I also have plenty of tissue in my purse, because I know that there'll be a lot of bawlin' and squallin' when that baby is finally here. And I'll probably be one of the chief bawlers.

In the meantime, we'd appreciate your prayers as Mikki labors to bring this baby safely into the world.

I'll be posting pictures as soon as I get a chance, of course.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Love and blessings,

Lord Jesus...hold this sweet and brave woman in your hands today while she does your Will and brings a new life into the world. Give her strength and peace as she does this task of love in thy plan...hold this innocent new life in your hands and keep him safe and strong as he greets this day...and keep Mikki's husband and family and friends in your safekeeping and give them peace as they await the arrival of baby Seth. In Jesus name...Amen
