Happy Weekend, Y'all ! !

First things first. Mountain Mama tagged me for this meme and when I blogged over there to check it out, I liked another one she had done so I tagged myself for it, too. More news after the memes.

A Novel Idea: If you could write a novel about any subject, what would it be? (Just the
subject–don’t give away your plot idea!) Or, if just the thought of having to write anything gives you hives, what would you like to read about in a novel that you’ve never seen done before? Or if you hate reading fiction (you can get counseling for that, you know), what subject might make you change your mind or try it anyway?

If I ever write a book, it would have to be just everyday humor. Kind of like Erma Bombeck, only not nearly as funny. A second choice would be a romance. I love a good romance, but I know it would be more of a challenge for me. Third choice would be a cookbook, for obvious reasons.

As I mentioned above if you caught the reference, my daughter Jessica has a new blog. That's Jessica and her boyfriend, Jason in the pic there to the left. If you've been reading my blog for any amount of time you've seen more pictures and read more about her than you really wanted to, I'm sure. She only has one post up since she just got started today. I'll put a link in my sidebar and here's a link to JESSICA'S WORLD. I asked if she wanted to keep it just among the family, and she said to go ahead and launch her out into blogdom. If you'd like to visit her, I know she'd love your comments. School starts for her in a little over a week, so her time to blog will probably diminish considerably after that. Right now she's searching for a job and funds are short. That's why she was bored enough to finally start a blog like I've been urging (read that as nagging) her to do. No gas money to go running around, so she's stuck at her apartment and bored enough to start a blog. I know I won't see her nearly as much when college starts so I hope she keeps it up. It will be another way for us to keep in touch. I expect to get lots of requests for recipes and cooking instructions, not to mention various and sundry other dippy questions.

Speaking of cooking, I'll be making another batch of salsa in a little while. I got enough tomatoes and bell peppers from our neighbor, Randall, to make more salsa, but Lamar had to go buy some jalapenos to go in it. He got just a few cayenne and jalapeno peppers from Randall's garden, but not many. I don't know if people are picking them as fast as they bear or if they're not doing well. The tomatoes aren't doing very well, but he's picking enough for his own use and to share with us and others. We got over 2 inches of rain overnight and today so surely that will help all the garden stuff bear more. I hope so, I sure want to can some more salsa and other garden stuff. Most people's gardens around here aren't doing as well as they have in the past. The weather again, I suppose.

It's after 9 pm and I haven't even started on the salsa, other than to get some clean jars out. I'll try to post Saturday, hopefully. Love and blessings to all my family and friends.

I went to Jessica's blog & left a comment. It looks good.

Sounds like you are getting some much needed rain. Has it brought cooler temperatures with it?

Nashe,
Hi, good to hear from you again! Do you know how to increase the size of the font on your computer? If not, email me and I'll walk you through it. :-)

Yes, Jessica is having a ball right now, but college starts on Aug. 21, so she'd better enjoy it. ;-)

Drop back by anytime, Nashe. :-)

I can't believe I forgot to comment on those frog legs. We loved them when we were kids. I remember Daddy putting a big light on a strap around his forehead, his froggin light he called it. And I remember a big toad sack full of giant bullfrogs wiggling around in the bathtub.

And I don't think my mama knew about cutting the tendons because I really remember some of those legs hopping out of the skillet.

My mother has a story about a picnic by a river and a bunch of frogs running around with their back legs missing. I'll have to get her to post that one.

Wow. It's occurring to me that frogs who came anywhere near my family just didn't fare too well.

Jessica is a cutie for sure. And all the way over there at college, oh my! Praying for a blessed year for her. I'll get on over and read her blog after this.

Loved your answer to that white trash blog just really do. not. like. the. name. Don't like name calling of any kind to be honest, or teasing, or sarcasm, or anything that crosses that invisable line of politeness I mean. Funny is good. oh I guess I'm not explaining very good but I did like your answers!! Have a great week end.

Leaving in a little bit to pick up my hubby from the airport, without luggage, new digital camera, or cell phone but at least he's on his way home!!!!!

I always wondered if frog legs really did that! Your daughter is so cute, I'm on my way to check out her blog.

Barb, my Daddy and Grandpa and most of the men in my family went froggin'. Grandpa and Daddy both had those lights, too. Jessica and her boyfriend at the time went a couple of times this year. I had one good mess of frog legs, the first I've had in years. I still love them. :-)

Kim,
I don't know why that meme was titled that way. It's just how I got it, so I left it that way.

Glad to hear your hubby is coming home safely. :-)

Thanks for the compliments and prayers for Jessica. Please do visit her, it'll tickle her to death. :-)

Big Mama,
Yes, they do, and thanks. Please do go leave Jessica a comment, she'll love it. :-)

Tammy,
I don't know either! And thanks for the compliments on Jessica. I'm kind of partial to her myself. ;-)

Paulette,
I emailed you the link. :-)

Green Eyes,
Shhhh...don't tell her how often I visit over there! If she ever gets sitemeter she'll know for sure! LOL ;-) Yep, I miss her bunches.

Knees are about the same, they make like a Hoover, LOL. ;D

I love you, too, Green Eyes, sassy and all, my friend. Hope you're having a great weekend. :D

It was only yesterday when baby Jessica was saying her first words. Now she's been inducted into the social order of blogging.

My, how the time flies...
